Golden Hues in Inky Blue

Tonight feels like golden hues 

dipped in inky navy blues

Today feels like puffy clouds 

with beams of sun rays 

shining through rainstorms 

This moment feels like walking backwards through an opened door

while my life runs by me, moving forwards as I am pulled backwards

I love how this message covers hope because I know I definitely need a reminder daily about how hope + joy are not based on circumstances in our lives, but on the truth that is Jesus. Hope is truly “in our DNA” 🧬 ☺️

Life in itself is a gift. God’s grace gives us the chance to have eternal life and a heaven on earth. God’s love allows for our greatest defeats and situations of despair to become our greatest places of triumph. It’s a chance to not be haunted anymore by guilt, hopelessness, offense, and the threat of everything being ripped away from us. Feelings of depression and hopeless can still linger however, even after accepting Jesus into your life and having knowledge about who God is. I know that’s how it is for me from time to time. However, something that helps me a lot is remembering how strong Gods love and grace is, and even if my situation and emotions tell me something different, God doesn’t change. God is, was, and always will be good, whether I believe it or not, or whether my situations tells me that or not, and it’s hard to understand at times, but that’s what faith is. It’s the hope in what we do not see (aka our feelings and situations aligning with our desires and even just experiencing joy). Believe and trust in the fact that: “if God is for us, who can ever be against us? Since he did not spare his own son, won’t he also give us everything else? Does it mean that He no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity? No. Despite all these things overwhelming victory is ours” ~ Romans 8:31
