me @ people who drop threads:  i aM SO *clenches fist*…. not angry at all because it’s your blog and you can do what you want and rping is a hobby and you never gotta force yourself or your muses to do anything thank you. seriously guys i need you to remember that it is ALWAYS okay to a) drop threads  b) reply to a MILLION other things first  c) let things sit in your drafts for AGES if necessary. this is your hobby and you shouldn’t stress over replies. please keep in mind that you don’t owe anybody on here. also please keep in mind that i am awlays open for NEW things if you are not feeling a certain thread. take care, have FUN– it’s what this website is for. improve your creativity, have fun and, if anything, REDUCE your stress. not add to it.

This is becoming commonplace, an unfortunate restlessness in these hours of the evening.  This time, at least there is reason for it; discomfort with the pristine surroundings of the Elven realm, a mistrust of their hosts.  Coupled together, they make for a terrible night’s sleep.  It is an issue all his own, for save the occasional wanderer in search of a drink, the rest of his lot hardly seemed fazed by the situation at all, perhaps too caught up in the luxuries afforded to them to worry about such matters.  That’s fine, of course.  Let them enjoy themselves, as they clearly are some distance away, but he will have no part of it.  He cannot.  And besides, he has found a particularly pleasant spot to occupy for a while, and it does seem a shame to relinquish it now.  So quiet, so peaceful , but such things rarely last. Among the excited hollers of familiar voices, another sound catches his attention, the scuff of boots against the polished stone floor; too nonchalant to be a threat, too unrefined  to be anything but a straggler venturing away from the elation down the way. 

Initially, he assumes they’ll pass, but as the noise grows nearer expectations change, and he’s left waiting for the inevitable question, commentary, or the like.  Such was not the case.  In that fleeting second of a first touch, he realized his error.  This was not just a wanderer, but one seeking his company, if only for the moment.  Ah, and not just any one, but his.  There is no mistaking that, as only three of the thirteen in his company would chance such a thing.  And of those three, two were likely to ask beforehand. 

So, he knew.

Tired eyes flutter to a slow blink, his head tipping into the affections paid, against the fingers carding through his hair, twisting and toying and scraping blunt nails lightly against his scalp.  So simple it is, yet its effect is immeasurable, displayed in a slow breath slipping between his lips as he leans into the form at his back.  Relaxed and entirely content, and all it took was the coveted caress of a dwarf so revered.  No surprise there, really.  That had been true for quite some time now.  “I was beginning to wonder when you might be along.”

         Well, right off the bat, that rules out a number of the more popular destinations, which sparks renewed intrigue, a quirked brow and tip of his head.   “I’m holding you to that.” A guarantee like that warrants further thought, after all, and his every one turns to possibilities.  Here, there, and some in between, but each is dashed as the notion flits through his mind again; no college kids.  That part stumps him, as many of the nicer places are often flooded by spring break revelers, so -- right, well, only one way to put that wonder to rest.  “Where were you looking to go?”

     “Well–” He speaks past the cigarette between his lips. “We wouldn’t be goin’ anywhere where there’d be kids around.” He straightens up, taking a drag before lowering it from his lips. “An’, for where I want t’go, it’ll be too cold if we go later this year– but in the Spring, it’ll be warmer an’ lovelier an’ I can guarantee there’ll be no college kids around t’ruin the view.”

How d'y'feel about Spring time? I've been meanin' t'look int' vacation time.
