If I could speak on a subject for ages, it would be about avant grade fashion; more importantly boots. The boot in this case a carol Christian poell boot is quite literally the sole of an outfit the sole of a costume and the sole of fashion. Each one so unique that you can have 10+ pairs of black boots without thinking that one is another.

What would I personally call today’s avantgarde?

In my personal opinion mixed in with the new we have the very strong old. Something unique with avantgarde fashion. The Victorian era fashion style is something that is a mighty presence in today’s avantgarde fashion. Steaming from Brand’s like John Alexander Skelton to Devoa all of it creates this fairytale fashion where we can relive the past.

The idea of masked identity in fashion comes from Margielas very first few shows. The world we live in now revolves around masks and we can see this was even being used in shows before the pandemic such as late 2010’s Rick Owens shows. I don’t talk about Margiela much but the beauty in it is there nun the less.
