GoodTimesWithScar x Gucci
Part 3/18 of LifeStyle: A Life Series Fashion Zine
-
Scar is such an uplifting and fun creator and I love his energy so much. I always watch his POV of the series, much like Cleo and Grian, and I love watching him stream while I work.
-
While typically I stay true to the exact design of the pieces as much as I can, I did modify the jacket shape to fit better while seated in a wheelchair and accommodate for the support strap (shorter crop to maintain silhouette, and open up the back to accommodate for sitting an support needs).
Some notes on accessible and adaptive clothing that got too long for the main body of the post:
Some of the other accessible clothing adjustments I would've made in real life aren't really visible in the piece, aren't relevant for an editorial-style shoot like this (since they're only worn for a short period of time for a specific look, vs long-term practical wear), etc. For example, a higher fit for the pants and longer cut of shirt in the back to accommodate fit while seated isn't visible in this piece even though I kept it in mind, sensory-friendly clothing and avoiding things like belts for long periods for comfort aren't really relevant for the illustration, and placing accessible openings for medical ports is more relevant to real-life conditions and knowing where those ports would be rather than a one-off fashion drawing.
All that being said, however, I wanted to talk about it because it's important to keep accessibility and adaptability of clothing in mind when designing and styling, especially if you're not disabled yourself. It's something fashion has a responsibility to be aware of and help to support (and maybe doesn't do as well as it should) and I highly encourage you to research specific needs for adaptable clothing and learn more if you plan on drawing or making disabled characters in the future. There are tons of resources about accessible and adaptive clothing online, depending on what a person's or character's needs would be, and I encourage research for all!!

Mastering the Black Tie Dress Code: A Gentleman's Guide to Formal Elegance
Ever found yourself staring at an invitation marked 'Black Tie' with a mixture of excitement and mild panic? You're not alone!
The traditional black tie dress code represents the pinnacle of men's formal attire, but navigating its rules needn't be daunting. From the classic tuxedo with its satin lapels to the perfectly tied bow tie, each element serves a purpose in creating that sophisticated silhouette.
Whether you're preparing for a summer gala (where an ivory dinner jacket might be your best ally) or a winter formal affair (when that velvet jacket in midnight blue could set you apart), understanding the seasonal variations can elevate your look from acceptable to exceptional.
Our latest article breaks down everything from fabric choices to accessory etiquette, ensuring you'll never again wonder if your cummerbund pleats should face up or down (they face up, by the way, designed originally to catch crumbs at dinner!).
Have you encountered any black tie dilemmas? Perhaps you've discovered a clever styling trick that works brilliantly? Share your experiences in the comments - I'd love to hear your formal wear stories!
Click the link in comments to read our comprehensive guide and ensure you're impeccably dressed at your next formal occasion.

maybank!reader x rafe cameron
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
maybank!reader takes pride in the way she looks. she thrifts most of her clothes and upcycles. once they get pougelandia 2.0 up and running , she has full intentions on selling some clothes as well. she wants kids on the cut to be able to have fun clothes for affordable prices.
most days she’s wearing a swimsuit and something to cover up her bottom or top half for hanging out or running quick errands, but when she’s dressed up to do something it was always different. she’s got so many clothing items it was nearly impossible for her to ever wear an outfit twice.
lots of colors and textures ; beads , sequins , embroidery & lace were staples. often times she goes with the small top , big bottoms vibe. flowy and layers!
she has always been into jewelry , and her collection over the years has become more than abundant. when she was with rafe , her jewelry box became three due to him buying any pieces he thought she could like. most of the things he bought her were retired after they broke up. she was always wearing some sort of metal whether it was rings , bracelets , earrings , necklaces , or a mixture of all of them. her starfish earrings were her favorite ; thankfully she was able to keep track of them at pougelandia.
strong believer in her having a simple , gold nose ring.

horse whose two front legs are draped in a pair of blue denim jeans these jeans are worn in a thought provoking fashion with the typical rear of the pants facing outward while the side that is usually the front faces toward the horse which allows its zipper to accommodate the horses chest since the zipper cannot fulfill its human intended function of fastening the pants these equine jeans are held up by a thin bit of orange or pink twine or rope though this innovation is hard to see against the faded orangish pelt of its wearer what is not difficult to see however is the halter this fine beast is equipped with which perfectly matches its esteemed legwear

MumboJumbo x Brioni
4/18 of LifeStyle: A Life Series Fashion Zine
-
Mumbo was an interesting one because I was determined to pick a brand that wasn't just a designer brand that happened to make suits, but specifically a suiting and menswear brand itself. I actually didn't know many, but once I did some research Brioni came up and I went with that!
There are a lot of small intricacies in mens tailoring that are super interesting - the weight and weave of the wool, the cotton weave of the shirt, and the details of the sock or the tie and pocket square are all so important and make a huge difference in the final look and presentation. If you're not familiar with menswear, I suggest you look into tailoring and learn a bit about it, even if it seems boring. Doing beautiful tailoring on the human form is an art form, and hard to capture in stylized illustration like this!
