anyway this was a warmup that got out of hand. someone probably came into the healer den for some stupid shit like getting their head stuck in a can or some bullshit lmao

i just want to gush over his character for a second because he has my heart. Spoilers for loudclan ahead!

<3 his decision to become a healer out of RESPECT and DECENCY and LOVE for silt was what first grabbed my heart. the maturity and passion for a cat that young to make such a huge call??? trauma babies always grow up so fast (speaking from experience) but i love how he did it not just for silt but to protect his own peace??? like he told owlstar all the ways he fucked up and basically said "we ain't the same" and the weight was off his shoulders. he's not free from his heritage in any way (what with mama's ghost creepin) but he took control. his life both is and isn't dictated by his parentage and i fucking love that

also his relationship with his clanmates is so good!! he's not super soft and gentle with them - he can be really prickly and impatient - but he WILL NOT leave their side until he has done every single fucking thing within his power to offer them healing or peace. his clanmates don't really seem to notice how generous he is with his emotional energy because he isn't super demonstrative and he's dealing with so much AND I LOVE HIM SO MUCH.

his moments of vulnerability with rosehip and silt make me woob so hard for him. i hope he can grow to lean on others even a fraction as much as they lean on him i just want him to be happy someday ;n;

it's a good thing he lives in loudclan and nothing bad ever happens there!

Loudclan - Moon 33: Part 3

A cold snap begins to take hold of the latter part of the day as Owlstar leads Siltsplash far away from the crowded ceremony.

At this time of year the snow should simply melt into the earth, coating everything in a layer of thick wet frost, but these flakes settle and stick, growing into a miniature white mountain range that fills the valley.

[Been sitting on some of this Siltsplash dialouge for MONTHS, very happy to finally let them blow up at Owlstar. I also ended up having a lot of fun with the background/foreground elements, and for once managed to finish something despite it not looking exactly the way I wanted it to. The more I think about this moon the more parts get added, so buckle in cause we're only about half way. Now I must go scurry away to get ready for a test I've been putting off weeks.]

In honor of actually starting this blog I've drawn 8 characters from clangen or cat comics that inspired me to make my own!! Go check them out if you haven't already!!

Eklunta - @loudclan-clangen - I think Eklunta is an interesting lady even though she's been dead for a while now. I like how she appeared in Siltsplash's mind after the kits were born. I really like how cats are drawn in this comic. They are so round and lovely and there is always so much drama

Wiggity Wacks - @fallenclan - I think it's really impressive how Fallenclan has so many characters yet all of them feel distinct in their own way. There's a reason they would be someone's favorite. I also really like the artstyle of this one!! I drew Wiggity Wacks because that is the silliest name I've ever heard and I also hope he keeps getting into situations. Stay silly Wiggity Wacks <3

Heartflicker - @vespidclan - I think the story of this comic is super interesting and I love how 404 works. She is a silly moth who can do no wrong !! I decided to draw Heartflicker because she is my fav so far. Sure do hope nothing bad happens to her!! (i say in fear)

Snompelt - @splinterclan - I'm really intrigued by the lore and drama of this comic. I also really love the designs of the cats so it was hard to chose who to draw. I'm really excited to see where this one goes!! I drew Snompelt because he's just a silly little guy :3

Suncat - @jumalanpelko - Read through all of this comic in one afternoon, and I haven't been the same since. The colors, shapes, and story are soooo good. Also wdym Suneve is upon us I talked to Her and She said Suncat was going to live a long and healthy life /coping

Rainhaze - @barrenclan - The first Barrenclan video was one of the things that inspired me to make the first version of this comic, back when the story came from clan generator and not clangen. I had a lot of fun following this comic until it ended. I drew Rainhaze because I like cats who do bad things but have their reasons

Condor - @wavesalwayscrash - The art of this comic was a huge inspiration for me, specifically how the backgrounds are drawn. The shading and the colors never fail to amaze me. I drew Condor because I also like cats who just do bad things :3

Candykit - @circus-clangen - I was originally going to draw Ringstar but momma raised a quitter so I drew Candykit instead. Her design is so cute! I really love the way the characters are designed and drawn for this comic. The mystery is really intriguing too I wish I was smart enough to try and solve some of the puzzles lmao

It's certainly possible, especially if that's something that the majority of people want to see, I only hesitate because I know it can be really hard for some people (me) to not peek at a family tree if I know it exists, even if I don't really want to know about the spoilers. Plus I do really enjoy surprises and plot twists and that can be difficult when yall know exactly who makes it to adulthood and who they're going to have kits with. But, yall know yourselves best, and if you would enjoy the story more with the knowledge of who inherits leadership positions let me know and I'll add "giant inheritance family tree" to my to-do-list!

Thank you! I use my Ipad and Procreate almost exclusively. I think it's the perfect balance of having all of the tools that you need while not being completely overwhelming to learn. (Though due to the simplified interface some functions can seem hidden, which I know frusterates some people but I've never run into an issue that can't be fixed with a quick google search). It's a one time purchase which I really appreciate, and I think that the $12 is completely justifiable especially compared to how much I used to spend on physical sketchbooks and pencils/markers/paints. Though if you're just starting out and aren't sure if digital art is for you IbisPaintX has pretty much all of the same tools for free (with adds) it's just a lot less convient to navigate and use. (Absolutely no hate to Ibis I LIVED for it back in highschool and I'm very glad that it's still there as a free option but if you're thinking about paying for the membership I would recommend just making the leap to a more cohesive app instead.) Of course, this is all coming from the perspective of someone who is completely petrified by the Clip Studio/Fire Alpaca type interface, so take everything I say with the knowledge that I have a major bias against them.
