Lou Fai, Little League Shows & S_he's Amazing Shows present: Žen + support
____ doors: 19.00 begin: 20:00 FB Event ____ only AK info: [email protected] ____ ŽEN Formed in Zagreb (Croatia), in 2010, audio-visual band Žen combines intricate arrangments and immersive live visuals to create a fully authentic shoegaze post rock experience. Žen playfully dissects gender stereotypes and connects the boundaries of audio and visual art, evoking journeys through vocal harmonization submerged in a progressive symbiosis of guitar, bass, drums and synths. If we were to try to define them by genre, the closest we would get is a complex form of indie-rock, informed by various style and genre characteristics ranging from post-rock to shoegaze, math-rock, vintage synthwave and experimental electronics. Their debut album 'I onda je sve počelo' was released in May 2013 under the queer feminist label Unrecords from Vienna, Austria. Second album 'Jantar', released in August 2015, is coproduction between two labels, Austrian Unrecords and Vox Project from France. Žen has played numerous concerts and gained a loyal audience in the wider European region. They’ve played in Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Austria, Germany, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Switzerland, France, Italy, Denmark and Sweden. In 2017 joined forces with Moonlee Records and in November 2017 their third album 'Sunčani ljudi' was released. https://xzen.bandcamp.com/ Video "Sonična taktika": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_sCEPUxIfcI

GIORGIO POI
Born in Novara, in the northern part of Italy, Giorgio Poi spent his teenage years in Rome. At age 20 he moved to London, where he graduated in jazz guitar at the Guildhall School Of Music And Drama. In 2012, he released his first musical work with his band Vadoinmessico. However, despite living between London and Berlin, his heart was drawn back to writing songs in his mother tongue which was both familiar and mysterious. His solo debut album Fa Niente (2017) was thus released in Italian and earned him astounding critical acclaim.

Good Morning (Bedroom Suck, Australia) 21.09 at Internet Explorer

Doors: 20.00 Concert: 21.00 more info coming soon. reservations: [email protected] --- presented by ByteFM Good Morning are a two piece recording project made up of Stefan Blair (Gemini) and Liam Parsons (Aries) from Melbourne, Australia. The two met in high school and have been writing songs ever since. In 2013, they went halvies in a Foxtex 4 track tape machine; Good Morning is the result of that investment. They have released two mildly received EPs, Shawcross and Glory, and some similarly received singles. In a live setting they are joined by James Macleod (Libra) and John Considine (Sagittarius). Together they have performed in the United States at CMJ Music Marathon and most of Australia. Career highlights include being unfavourably compared to Mac DeMarco a lot, that time Urban Outfitters asked to play their music in stores and when Tyler, the Creator tweeted the cover of Shawcross. This July, Melbourne-based independent label Bedroom Suck Records will re-issue these two beautifully produced and incredibly catchy records on one 12′′ vinyl package, available from July 7, 2017. Stef Chura (Urinal Cake, US) 03.09 at Internet Explorer
FB Event

Doors: 20.00 Concert: 21.00 more info coming soon. reservations: [email protected] Stef Chura’s debut studio album, Messes (out 1/27 on Urinal Cake Records), is born of her years of experience playing around the Detroit, Michigan underground, setting up DIY shows in the area, and moving around the state-nearly 20 times. “Right when it starts to feel like home / It’s time to go,” she sings literally on its opening cut, “Slow Motion,” a twisty, dim-lit guitar pop song where she curls and stretches every word. There are worlds of emotion in the ways Chura pronounces phrases with twang and grit, alternatingly full of despair, playfulness, and abandon. Chura calls her music “emotional collage,” eschewing start-to-finish storylines in favor of writing intuitively about feelings, drawing from experiences and references related to a certain sentiment. Through intricate guitar work and warm, textured production, Messes finds her trying to make sense of life’s ups and downs. “It’s about emotional mess, not physical mess,” Chura says. “The title track is about knowing that you are going to do something the wrong way, but you’re doing it anyway because you want that experience. I’ve had to do a lot of things the wrong way in order to figure out how to live my life.” VIDEO: "Spotted Gold": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nAdSooplj60

MILE ME DEAF (AT/Siluh)
MILE ME DEAF’s new album is a swan song for the human race. In his previous albums, mastermind Wolfgang Möstl has hinted at his penchant for dystopic fictions that he links to the fragile status-quo of the current state of affairs. With ALIEN AGE, however, he has abondoned the fuzz-and-thrash sound of his previous albums. Sampled beats and loops set the stage for his new album, reducing the 90s indie rock sound of past records to homeopathic doses. This time, dub, vaporwave, jazz and ambient come in the foreground.
The entire album was single-handedly produced by Möstl, who used a vintage Akai sampler to lay down the base tracks in classic old school hip-hop fashion. Möstl created an album full of idiosyncratic and unconventional MILE ME DEAF pop songs drawing from a variety of sources: from thrift store bin records, to recordings of friends’ bands, to audio curiosities from all over the world. For the first time on a MMD song, Möstl has handed over the microphone to Sex Jams band mate Katarina Trenk, who sings lead vocals on the hypnotic dance track “Shibuya+”.
ALIEN AGE offers a tongue-in-cheek infatuation with extraterrestrial visitations, human extinction, and all manners of bizarreness from the depths of the internet. It’s an exercise in encapsulating the “weird vibe” of the modern age. Between the lines, the album can be interpreted as a posthumanism record. It’s the inconsistencies of the world that leave Möstl to doubt the role of man as the spearhead of the social hierarchy—he throws into question —the traditional thought that the (western) man’s reasoning trumps all else. http://www.siluh.com/artists/milemedeaf/

(...)“ – Sonja Erken for Missy Magazine
„Welcome to Jolly Goods: a tingle of Amanda Palmer, a shiver of Little Annie … a mither of Riot Grrrl. Too smart to be American.“ – Everett True on Collapse Board •
„Lennonesk herausfordernd taxieren einen die Schwestern von den Jolly Goods auf dem Cover ihres zweiten Albums Walrus, das bei staatsakt erschien.Der Sound ist hartkantig und splitterfaserig. Gehacktes Klavier, leadige Gitarren, PJ Harvey-Gesang. Glühend spröde. Die Texte beschwören wunderschöne, abjekte Unordnungen. Dazu passen die Kooperationen der Band. Jolly Goods arbeiteten u.a. mit Peaches, Hans Unstern, Dirk von Lowtzow und Moses Schneider zusammen.“ Falk Quenstedt for Down By The River Festival
Jolly Goods are the sisters Tanja Pippi and Angy Lord. They founded Jolly Goods in a basement in Rimbach, Odenwald (Germany) in 2003. Tanja Pippi sings, plays guitar, piano, and organ. Angy Lord plays drums, percussion and sings backing vocals.
Their music is inspired by Punk, Folk, Shoegaze, Riot Grrrl, Garage, Pop and Noise. In 2007 they released their debut album „Her.Barium“ on the berlin-based label Louisville Records. In 2010 they became part of the organization and bandcoaching team of Ruby Tuesday Rock Camp for girls, trans * and inter* in Berlin. In October 2010, Jolly Goods were part of the theatre rock opera „Peaches Does Herself“ by Peaches at HAU Berlin. In November 2011, their second album „Walrus“ was released on the Berlin label staatsakt. They are currently recording and producing their third album all on their own. Tanja Pippi is also working as an artist and photographer. (www.tanjapippi.net).

REPETITOR
Repetitor faithfully carved their signature sound, a blend of heavy rock'n'roll, post-punk and everything in between. They deliver songs of cross-genre ecstasy, packed in a powerful, rocking-your-guts-out interplay of instruments, vocals and the distinctive wall of sound they create together. Attempts to find a direct musical influence may prove to be a difficult task, but an attentive listener will recognise similarities with variety of bands, from early Mudhoney, Šarlo Akrobata, Fugazi, Sonic Youth, Pixies and early Nirvanaall the way to Black Sabbathor even Suicide. That may sound irreconcilable at first, but Repetitor do it with ease and bring a sonic experience that couldhardly be more enjoyable.
Repetitor definitely represent the best of Belgrade’s alternative garage rockscene. Perhaps it’s a bit too early, but not at all exaggerated, to say that they are steadily becoming a part of some yet unwritten chapter on rock history and culture from the region. Given the recognition and the influence they already have, we can expect the chapter to be written, sooner than later.
»They make you fall in love with guitar rock all over again and are arguably the best guitar band on the planet right now. They are the 21st Century Nirvana whohave come to save rock.«(John Robb, Louder Then War)
»Easily the most exciting band I saw during the whole festival were Serbia’s Repetitior, a noise-core trio in the METZ mould, only rawer, louder and five times as furious...«(Marc Burrows,Drowned In Sound)
»It's chaotic, and they are angry –not in a faking it for themusickind of way, they are really fucking angry.«(Lauren Down, The Line of Best Fit)
