“… I see you didn’t get over that action, my friend,” Jocelyn says sarcastically as she takes a sip of her tea. Listening to the words from Mara did finally settle into her heart, the princess realizes what does Mara thinking of her. It is for sure that Mara doesn’t feel of her like a princess or a friend—it is something more than that. “Mara, I do not wish you to lose your confidence because that’s what I like about you.” Jocelyn starts quietly after a long silence, knowing the servants are gone as they begin to talk about the relationships. “And yet, I am not quite sure how to think of you, Mara. You are my best friend, and you are such a great guard of mine whom I trust the most.” To the point where I’m thinking of you to take my place if something would ever happen to me. “However, I do think there is hope between us. I’ve been thinking after what you did to me, so-called a kiss,” she then looks up at Mara, with a small smile, “I think I need more time to think since I have never experienced this event before. Do you think you can wait for me and treat me like you’ve always been?”

“well it was the first time i kissed a woman. it was sorta memorable, despite it being quick.” the blonde stated nonchalantly, though the faint hue taking over her cheeks told a different story. she did her best to hide this by getting herself some tea, but even mara knew there was little that could be done to fully hide what was happening. “to be honest, i think i might need time to think about it too. even i’m not fully sure about everything.” mara admitted before taking a sip of her tea which helped the blonde’s nerves to settle a bit. that’s when her hand reached across the table & rested on jocelyn’s, a more genuine smile forming on her lips now. “i’ll wait as long as it takes for you, i promise.”

Jocelyn smiles once again before she asks one of her servants to prepare the tea as the time alerts. It is time for the drink. Then, she looks at Mara again when her friend starts to apologize for what she’s done wrong or something. Jocelyn didn’t say much but smiling. Then she shakes her head gently. “No, it’s okay. You don’t have to feel bad about it,” she says, noticing the tea sets are prepared on the table, “although it was a surprise action from you, you did bravely expressed your feeling to someone. So, I understand you completely.” The princess walks towards the table, dragging Mara along with her and then taking a seat. “Demetri seemed very worried about you after what happened to us.” Oh, yes, Demetri showed his worried expression to her about Mara, telling her something seems a bit off. “Don’t feel bad about that. You’re fine.”

“that’s the problem; i do feel bad about it.” mara protested with eyes briefly looking to the servants who worked to get them tea. a breath left her lips as she sat back & fell silent for a minute, taking in what jocelyn said which brought a small smile that faded quickly. “i actually feel pretty conflicted because i can’t just think of you as a princess or a friend. i especially can’t after i kissed you.” she fell silent when the tea was served & resumed talking when the servants walked away to give them privacy once more. “forget demetri being worried about me, i just want to ask you something before i completely lose the confidence to do so. do you think we could ever have something together? something more than just me being a part of your guard who sometimes sits with you to have tea?”

“i’d like that.” even with the small smile given in response to the invitation, mara felt awkward still about her kiss & immediate departure that occurred only a few days ago. the whole incident kept playing in her mind on repeat since it happened, making her realize the only way to put it past her was to see the princess in person. “can i just real quick say i’m sorry for what happened the other day? i know doing..what i did was stupid, but i probably shouldn’t have left either after it happened.”
