Does anybody hear her?
Can anybody see?
Or does anybody even know she's going down today?
Under the shadow of our steeple
With all the lost and lonely people
Searching for the hope that's tucked away in you and me
Does anybody hear her?
Can anybody see?
If judgment looms under every steeple
If lofty glances from lofty people
Who can't see past her scarlet letter
And we never even met her

Losing
Why do we think that our hate's gonna break a hard heart
We're rippin' arms over wars that don't need to be fought
'Cause pride wont let us lay our weapons on the ground
We build our bridges up but it's just to burn them down
We think our pain is own apologies and get them to stop
Well truth be told it doesn't matter if their sorry or not
'Cause freedom comes when we surrender to the sound
Of Your mercy and Your grace, Father, send Your angels down
Oh Father wont you forgive them
They don't know what they've been doin'
Oh Father, give me grace to forgive them
'Cause I feel like the one losin'
I feel like I've been losing

The Land Of The Free
I want to make a few disclaimers:
1. I’ve never burnt a flag and I don’t intend on doing so.
2. what I’m about to write or say is a conclusion that I have come to in my personal walk with Christ.  So I understand that some people don’t agree with me …. and PLEASE do not jump to any conclusions.  I just believe it’s wrong for me, and I can’t say what Christ does or does not convict you of.  Your convictions are your own; between you & God.
CONSTRUCTIVE COMMENTS, OPINIONS, AND REBUTTALS  ARE WELCOME BUT THEY NEED TO BE NICE NOT RUDE, PLEASE!
I have been posed the question of whether or not I think burning the American flag should be illegal or not.
I don’t believe burning the flag is wrong because I do not believe that the flag is sacred in the same way you might find it sacred. For instance, I think it is so beautiful when the flag is draped over a veteran’s coffin or someone who served this country or perhaps an officer, etc.  However I personally don’t have a flag. I don’t pledge allegiance and I don’t usually honor the national anthem …. because I personally have found that it is a sin for me.  I have come to a point in my walk with Christ where I vow to not pledge my allegiance to anything or anyone else including a nation.  It is not that I don’t respect the laws of the land.  It is not that I don’t appreciate those who have died for this country & it is not that I don’t root for America, but I will not pledge allegiance to anybody or anything else besides the Lamb of God.
That’s why, and that’s what I stick to.  Those are my convictions, and if you find that you are moved in some way to study the scripture and talk to God about your feelings about this and you find that God asks us to do this as I believe He does, then that is great and know that I support you in that decision.
I’d love to hear other’s take on this. I’d love to POLITELY DISCUSS the topic.
From the lyrics of I pledge allegiance by Ray Boltz:
"But one by one they chose to die The Son of God they would not deny Like a great angelic choir sings I can almost hear their voices ring
I pledge allegiance to the Lamb With all my strength With all I am I will seek to honor His commands I pledge allegiance to the Lamb”
“Paul and Silas have caused trouble all over the world,” they shouted, “and now they are here disturbing our city, too. 7 And Jason has welcomed them into his home. They are all guilty of treason against Caesar, for they profess allegiance to another king, named Jesus.” Acts 17:7

Ask The Broken
I’m just not convinced that Jesus is going to say “when I was hungery you gave your offering to the Church of Christ & they paid for the stained glass window & then fed me.” Jesus is not seeking distant acts of love: “You fed me …. you visited me in prison….. you welcomed me into your home…. you clothed me…..” The church has become a distribution center. A place where the poor come to get stuff and the rich come to dump stuff. Both go away satisfied & NO ONE leaves transformed. Jesus didn’t set up a program but modeled a way of living that incarnated the reign of God. A community in which people are reconciled and our debts are forgiven just as we forgive our debtors. (all economic words)That reign did not spread through organizational establishments or structural systems. It spread like disease. Through touch through breath through life. It spread through people infected by love. Writing a check makes us feel good and can fool us into thinking that we have loved the poor. But seeing the squat houses and tent cities and hungry children will transform our lives. Then we will be stirred to imagine the economics of rebirth and to hunger for the end of poverty. Jesus says the poor will always be with you. Far from saying in defeat that we should not worry about the poor because they will always be among us. Jesus is pointing the church to her true identity. She is to live close to those who suffer. When people asked Ghandi who the real Christians are- He always said - Ask the poor, they will tell you who the Christians are! Ask the beaten and abused Ask the hearts of those who have been in bad relationship after bad relationship so much they don’t know what a good one is! Ask the addicted Ask the outcasts of the “Church” Ask THEM who the real Christians are.

Lend Me Your Hope
Lend me your hope for a while, I seem to have mislaid mine. Lost and hopeless feelings accompany me daily, pain and confusion are my companions. I know not where to turn. Looking ahead to future times does not bring forth images of renewed hope. I see troubled times, pain-filled days, and more tragedy. Lend me your hope for a while, I seem to have mislaid mine. Hold my hand and hug me; listen to all my ramblings, recovery seems so far distant. The road to healing seems like a long and lonely one. Lend me your hope for a while, I seem to have mislaid mine. Stand by me, offer me your presence, your heart and your love. Acknowledge my pain, it is so real and ever present. I am overwhelmed with sad and conflicting thoughts. Lend me your hope for a while. A time will come when I will heal, and I will share my renewal, hope and love with others.

And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.

“Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?” The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

I paint a picture, I think it's easier to live that way But my heart is really broken I'm not the man you think I am when you see me each day Torn apart and then left open Father come and fill me up I can't wait for you to overflow my cup My heart makes me wonder how much longer 'Til you're coming back to take me away My heart longs for you to fly right through the sky And take me to the place where I Will never feel my heart break down again I search the sky and then I try imagining you there Looking on anticipating You're standing by and knowing I will join you in the air Until then I'll be here waiting

To everyone who's lost someone they love Long before it was their time You feel like the days you had were not enough when you said goodbye And to all of the people with burdens and pains Keeping you back from your life You believe that there's nothing and there is no one Who can make it right There is hope for the helpless Rest for the weary Love for the broken heart There is grace and forgiveness Mercy and healing He'll meet you wherever you are Cry out to Jesus, Cry out to Jesus For the marriage that's struggling just to hang on They lost all of their faith in love They've done all they can to make it right again Still it's not enough For the ones who can't break the addictions and chains You try to give up but you come back again Just remember that you're not alone in your shame And your suffering When your lonely And it feels like the whole world is falling on you You just reach out, you just cry out to Jesus Cry to Jesus To the widow who suffers from being alone Wiping the tears from her eyes For the children around the world without a home Say a prayer tonight

I won't pretend to know what you're thinking I can't begin to know what you're going through I won't deny the pain that you're feeling But I'm gonna try and give a little hope to you Just remember what I've told you There's so much you're living for There's a light at the end of this tunnel

You've been hiding now for so long Never understanding why Running far away from the truth And all along chasing after lies I have loved you from the beginning Long before you knew my name Even though you've broken my heart I'll love you just the same I'll love you anyway Never mind your worries Never mind your fears They can only take you far from me When you feel there's nowhere Left for you to turn Well, I got all you want And everything you need Come on back to me Do you believe in second chances Or in a love that never fades Put your faith in what you can't see Just put your hand in mine And I'll show you the way
