Do you know what pisses me off the most about the Minecraft movie? No, I'm not talking about the messed up game mechanics or the endlessly over-the-top plot designed to engage the little ones. No.

The Minecraft movie is a bootleg of the Playmobil movie.

The two siblings:

Marla and Charlie in Playmobil and Natalie and Henry in Minecraft.

Both movies introduce the audience to what comes next: Marla and Charlie play with playmobil minifigures, while Jack Black, after a cringe scene, ends up in Minecraft.

Time Skip:

Playmobil: shows how Marla and Charlie are struggling after the death of both parents. Charlie hasn't yet grasped the gravity of the situation, while Marla is very stressed, both mentally and physically, but she's trying her best to stick to a routine to raise Charlie as best she can.

Minecraft: after the part with Garret, the movie shows Natalie and Henry in the car, talking without showing the slightest emotion about their mother's death and how moving is annoying.

Extra: What does Natalie do with Henry vs Marla and Charlie

Minecraft: Natalie barely care for Henry, doesn't even bother to ask how he's doing at school (I understand she's busy with work, but hello? Nani in Lilo and Stitch was super busy, but she took a few minutes to make sure her sister was okay), and so when the rocket accident happens, Henry ask a complete stranger for help.

Playmobil: Marla keep Charlie under continued survellaince, due to her trauma of losing both parents in a car incident. Make sure that he's clean and fed and do good at school. Genuinely scared when Charlie ran away to so see the Playmobil Expo at the museum.

The World:

Marla and Charlie in Playmobil: it's immediately clear that the portal opens thanks to magic after a particular moment, transition from live action to animation, the landscape is colorful and welcoming, the two react genuinely, then there's the scene of the Vikings's battle in which Charle is having a blast while Marla is rightfully scared.

Henry, Garrett, Natalie, and Dawn in Minecraft: portal found immediately inside the mine (which should be closed after Steve's disappearance, but isn't) because the plot requires it. No change in style, still live action with bad CGI. None of the characters are surprised or scared. Fake ass reaction. Cringe scene with the pink sheep and then night falls, followed by a frenetic scene with the Minecraft monsters and more cringe.

Male character with quirks:

Playmobil: Del, the handyman with an interesting backstory

Minecraft: Garret and Jack Black pretending to be Steve

Worldbuilding:

Playmobil: Marla explores the playmobil worlds while desperately searching for her kidnapped brother so they can return home.

Minecraft: The characters reach a village, but we don't see anything else except some Minecraft objects to keep the fans happy.

The Villain:

Playmobil: A Roman emperor called Maximus who runs a coliseum to entertain the people, who then kidnaps warriors from various playmobil worlds for legendary battles. He drops a fantastic song.

Minecraft: Malgosha lost a talent show and now wants to destroy creativity. And she wants gold, too.

Other characters:

Playmobil: Introduction of Rex Dasher and other really interesting characters who deserved more screen time (maybe we would have seen more in the TV series if it hadn't been canceled)

Minecraft: General Chungus (that get killed halfway through the film) and the Nitwit in the real world (who somehow manages to impress vice principal Marlene?)

Key scene near the end of the movie:

Playmobil: Del decides to abandon Marla because, in his opinion, she's a danger to everyone. Marla, despite the sadness of being abandoned, she going because she has to save her brother. Later, Del will return to help her, having grown fond of her like a daughter.

Minecraft: No one was worried about Garret's supposed death. However, Garret will return later, at the critical moment, to save Henry and help him destroy the Nether Portal.

Final message:

Playmobil: The characters have learned that they can't live in fantasy, but thanks to this adventure, they've found the strength and confidence to face the real world.

Minecraft: No one has learned anything, they all return to the real world just because.

Results:

Playmobil: treated like the plague by everyone, barely got any money, also got so much trashed that the producers had to cancel the sequel, the tv series, the vr game and any merchandise

Minecraft: critically acclaimed, gained millions, already greenlit the sequel, mass production of hideous merchandise

If I had a nickel for every time an animated production had a pop group made of three magical girls who used music to enable their magic and had the most banger songs in the soundtrack, I’d have three nickels which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened three times

I hate that I'm back to having to share this, but my financial situation is once again not great (tm). For those who don't know, I lost my job a few months back and have been stuck on unemployment since.

While I do have a part time job now and can still qualify for some unemployment payments, I barely get paid over $100 for a week's worth even with $16 an hour.

When they announced Cure Zukyoon and Cure Kiss a few weeks ago I made a doodle, then I looked at it again and decided to color it XD I'm glad to see many others had the same idea as me tho 🤣

Today we took our young son to the hospital because he suffers from two holes in his heart, which affects his breathing and causes him pain. I hope that everyone will help us save our young son’s life and donate any amount possible to provide treatment and medicine

THERE IS. a website. that takes 3D models with seams and pulls it apart to make a plushie pattern and informs you where things need to be edited or darts added for the best effect. and then it lets you scale it and print off your pattern. and I want to lose my MIND because I've lost steam halfway through so many plushie patterns in the mind numbing in betweens of unwrapping, copying all of the meshes down as pieces, transferring those, testing them, then finding obvious tweaks... like... this would eradicate 99% of my trial and error workflow for 3D models to plushies & MAYBE ILL FINALLY FINISH SCREAMTAIL...
