Thank you to everyone who made this event such a success!
The account will continue to reblog late submissions that give us an @ mention and will remain to preserve the art and fic from the week. Eventually it will be renamed with "-2021" appended. The Ao3 collection will remain here (and includes works not featured on tumblr).
Thank you again one and all <3

Disease
For day seven of @lozrareshipweek : Midnight Rendezvous
Here it is on A03
The bang at the window played like a broken record. Link was here, once again showing up through the window to Robbie’s room. He always left it open, he enjoyed the cool breeze and handsome knight it brought in. But this was getting old, and Robbie didn’t know how much longer he could carry on. “You could use the door y’know” He didn’t turn to face Link as they brushed the ashy rock residue off of them. Although when like clicked their tongue he turned to see what they signed. ‘I don’t want us to get caught, it’s safer this way.’ Caught... Link used this word all to often and Robbie was starting to feel like a disease. They had been dating for 6 months now, half a year and yet Link still refused to disclose their relationship to anyone other than Purah. 6 months of not knowing if he was good enough for Link. Were they too proud to be seen with him? Were they uncomfortable they were dating a man? They had only recently told Hyrule they were non-binary, maybe they feared the reaction. Did they just not like him? Was he a secret that they kept in case they broke things off? Maybe they were doing right then, because Robbie was very close to it. He had finally committed himself to a relationship, one he wanted to work hard on. And one he wanted to gain from in return. But Link’s secretiveness meant no. No kisses when passing in the castle, no holding hands while at the Princess Regent’s speeches or conferences. No celebrating when Robbie had a breakthrough with a hug. Nothing. And of course Robbie respected all this. He loved Link, and wanted them to feel safe. He could deal with no public displays of affection, him and Purah filled that role. But he didn’t know how much longer he could deal with secret.

With each passing moment, the end was growing nearer, and yet, Kafei was still gone. Having disappeared or run away—Anju did not know which theories to believe, not as she lay there and waited for the end. For wait was what she did. Staring out into the darkness, counting along to the heartbeats that marked the passage of time, she waited.
The certainty that came with knowing that the world would end, however, was also mirrored by the sound of footsteps, of Cremia walking into the room, and before she knew it, Anju was listening to her friend tell her what Anju would only realise far too late was a long kept secret.

A fanfic I wrote for the last day of @lozrareshipweek - the prompt of Midnight Rendezvous was simply too great not to write this! I really loved this event, so thank you so much for organising it!

Sparks of light on shattered glass - Part 1
Coming into this really late, because I didn't have the occasion to write earlier and I write slowly! I'm not sure how much I'll manage to get done before the end of the week, but I'm absolutely planning on continuing this past it.
This story is built around the overarching prompt "Mirrors" of LoZ Rareship Week, and as such there will be seven chapters, one for each prompt of the week. The first prompt was "Kiss/Dodge."
I hope you enjoy!
For bright that it shines, ruthless star in pools of icy sky, Skyloft's sun doesn't warm. Orville stands underneath it huddled in jackets and scarves, watching young men spar among the ruins of the training area.
He remembers the time when that sun had beaten down on them nearly as hard as the blades of their training swords, when the midday heat had been nigh unbearable.
He doesn't understand. Haven't they come closer to the blinding star? Shouldn't they feel its warm embrace more than they had on the surface, rather than be left shivering as if it had left them altogether? He can see it, but the touch of its light is distant, ethereal.
The sun is so much bigger than it used to be. It seems to be right there, next to him. If he holds out his arm he can nearly imagine he can grasp it. He thinks of plucking one of these sweet rays like incandescent honey in his palm, soft against his skin.
But it remains forever out of reach. Orville isn't sure he would dare attempt something so foolish, so doomed to failure.
That doesn't stop him from wondering what could happen, had he only a little more courage, were he a little less indecisive. Who knows after all when the sun could fall down, plunging them all in eternal night, so blinded by its absence, maybe, that they could barely see the stars?
The young men training aren't so prone to such melancholy. They're in the heat of action, laughing and shouting as they train, light-hearted in a way Orville has forgotten how to be even though he is barely older than them.
He thinks of a ruthlessly bright smile, of a laugh that used to carry all the way to the sun and the sky, and grieves, and regrets, and aches.
They were standing in the training grounds, the summer heat moist on their flushed and aching bodies.
Orville panted, mouth dry, sword in hand, watching Link in front of him like a hawk. Under a thin shirt, chiselled muscles were tensed for attack, his brow glistening in the light. Golden hair glowed on golden skin, slick and darkened with sweat. His lips, soft and pink, were slightly parted in exertion.
Orville should have watched his eyes, pools of ice he would gladly put on the nape of his neck to cool his burning skin. He should have watched there for a flash, for a mesmerising glance, anything betraying Link's intentions.
But he couldn't look away from those lips. They were barely open, showing but a hint of teeth, but their shape drew fanciful promises, and Orville shivered at the thin sound of breath escaping them.
Link leapt, graceful animal that he was, and Orville was caught unaware. His sword didn't rise in time; all his honed reflexes could do was jump out of the way.
Link stumbled forward, carried by his impetus, then he caught himself and faced Orville, grinning.
“Nice save,” he said. “But you should get your head out of the clouds.”
Orville carefully didn't answer. Sometimes he wished Link could read him a little less well. Sometimes a little better.
His laugh was contagious, though, and he shared it without even thinking, hoping his eyes didn't betray his thoughts, or maybe hoping they did.
This time he was ready for his friend's attack. His trembling sword caught Link's at the last moment.
His eyes caught on Link's smile, and for a fluttering heartbeat, he regretted dodging his blow.

Shamrock Green
For day five of @lozrareshipweek : eyes/blindfold
TW: Swearing, brief mentions of past trauma, scars
Here it is on A03
The clear sky full of constellations of dreams and hopes that are yet to be fulfilled sat above Robbie and Link, as they laid together, looking up. Well one of them was. Link’s gaze kept on getting caught on the face of their date. Namely, his goggles.
Link had grown use to the goggles that sat ever so perfectly of Robbie’s face, mainly because he had never seen the man without them. 3 Years and they had never once seen Dr. Robbie without his goggles. Had anyone? They assumed Purah had of course, and maybe then Impa as well. But had anyone outside of them seen what lays beneath the Doctors mask?
Link had pondered on the underneath of the ticking machinery. The obvious guess was eyes, but there was so much more to it than that. What colour were they? How big were the tunnels that carved through the middles? Did they have glistens of white in the iris? What if Robbie was blind. Maybe underneath that mask was two eyes that needed the help of the goggles to be able to see at all. That’s why he never took them off. Link thought about it. It would make sense. Especially with Dr. Robbie’s workmanship. He’d probably have the best sight in Hyrule. Was there just nothing? Link had seen it before, a curse of the Goddess they said it was. Not even a hint that eyes should be their, just skin. Link looked intensely at the Doctor. While pretty much impossible, Robbie could definitely see, the knights thoughts kept coming back to it. Would they mind? No. Of course not. Link would never care. Robbie, he was one to special to lose, especially because something like that.
“Tell me Link,” Link jumped slightly at the voice that came rather loudly from the engineer, “Why did you bother suggesting stargazing if you were just going to stare at me the whole time?” Embarrassment crept up on Link’s face. They had to play this off as cool. ‘Because, you’re the brightest star I can see?’ Their face had morphed into questioning, then very quickly regret. “Holy Shit, no hesitation! That was the corniest thing I’ve ever heard!” Robbie threw himself up from laying down in excitement. Link just covered their hands with their face. Then got hit with the awfully low chuckle slipped from the Doctors lips. Link physically felt they were melting to the ground. Robbie laid back down, this time on his stomach, leaning on his arms, attention turned away from the sky to the knight, “What’s got you staring? I mean, I know I’m handsome but there looked like something else.” Robbie snickered at his own dumb joke. ‘I – Link hesitated on the sign, they didn’t know how to say this – I was just looking at your goggles.’ They waited a second to see if they could see the doctor’s reaction. They couldn’t, ‘I don’t think I’ve ever seen you without them.’ Robbie’s lips parted ever so slightly, “oh, I… I’m sorry.” He brought his head to his hand’s to lift them up. This was a bad idea, Link put their hands over Robbie’s before he had the chance. “What?” ‘You don’t need to be sorry, and you don’t need to show me. To ask was insensitive of my, I apologise.’ Link was riddled with self-anger and disappointment. How dare they ask such a personal question? They know they didn’t care what would be underneath them, so why pry? For a sense of accomplishment? They were an idiot.
They heard the continuous ticking that they had heard all night stop. Shamrock green, imbedded deeply within the sockets that sat upon his face. They were rounded, slightly downturned, and squinted from a small smile to a perfect point that made Link’s heart stop. His pupils were tiny, but when he looked at Links own eyes, they blew wide. However not as wide as Links. Robbie’s eyes were stunning. ‘Why hide them?’ Link had to ask, what was the point in it? They knew that Robbie liked to be courted (although they doubted it was as respectful as the courting they grew up with) so why hide something that made him look so… divine? “It um… brings up bad memories.” Robbie rubbed his nose anxiously, something Link noticed he did a lot. ‘Your eyes?’ Link felt like a hypocrite, they themselves had trauma relating to specific parts of their body, why could Robbie not. With this thought, Link subconsciously put on their gloves. “No – Robbie laughed a little, though it was empty – the burn.” Link hadn’t noticed, or maybe just didn’t see it for what it was. Scars were so normal to them that they didn’t take old wounds to seriously at this point. But now they knew it hurt Robbie, it was unmissable. A burn traced Robbie’s left eye. It covered the soft skin underneath where darkened bags lay and travelled up to his eyebrow. There was no deformity of the actual eye, but craters of skin surrounded it. ‘I’m sorry’ Link signed softer than normal. “Eh, you don’t have’ta be. You didn’t cause it.” Robbie smiled sadly to the knight. Link had to fight the urge to cup his face, “And anyway, It’s ugly so I’m better of keeping it away.” Link used the knuckle of one of their fingers to hit Robbie lightly on the centre of his forehead. ‘It’s not.’ Link signed, a scowl now rested on their face, ‘If it brings up bad memories I get that, but it isn’t ugly.’ Robbie rolled his eye’s slightly, seeing the little movements that Link had once not been privy to proved their point. ‘I mean it. I’m not so good at explaining things so pardon me in advance – the doctor’s face turned smitten, Link really did over explain everything – but, it makes the colour of your eyes so clear, and well. Robbie.’ Link gulped slightly, ‘Robbie, it’s beautiful because you’re beautiful. You may think it’s ugly, but just belonging to you, it’s beautiful... I don’t know what caused it, and I’m sorry. If you want to hide it away because you can’t bare the memories I get that,’ Link glanced to their gloved hand, they did get it, ‘but please, never hide a part of yourself because you think it’s ugly. It’s not... You’re not.’ There was a sting in Robbie’s eyes. “Jeez, I… Thank you,” tears broke the barriers, “Thank you. I ain’t had anyone told me they were beautiful. Not like that. Not like they mean it.” ‘Well I do.’
