Lillian let out a slight laugh at the male’s excuse, clasping her hand around the small wound, a warmth radiating near the area as she spoke. “I’m a healer. Don’t need any real bandages, just a few seconds and a cooperative patient.”
“Oh.” He said glancing down at his hand. “I suppose so. Though, if it’s on my palm, you can’t really bandage it. Just kinda slides off.”

“You spend the last 40 years or so running from demons, you learn a few things about them. I’ve mastered my healing powers. I’m sure you know it’s not a very.. common choice as a witch. I can see you live up to your name very well. I have to ask though -- do you have a pile of gold hidden in your room?”
“Smart girl, I’m impressed. You’re one of the few that has gotten it right. I’m curious though how you plan to get rid of the burn, my husband is a warlock and he’s never offered to take care of my cross burns before. And by all means if you want to waste your time cleaning the blood off me, I won’t stop you. But chances are I’ll just be getting bloody again.”
#deadlyaugust#if i ever met a demon i'd probably just try to sell my soul to them tbh#i should never meet demons for that specific reason

“Security? You want to sell your soul for security? That’s uh -- that’s a first.”
“You can never have too much security in a place like this, can you?”

“I figured I’d let the wait build your curiosity. I’m assuming it didn’t work as planned. Apologies.”
So glad that you could finally make it to my office. I’ve only been waiting twenty minutes for your arrival, it’s just so nice of you to keep a lady waiting.

“μαμωνάς - the Prince of Greed. I’m not trying to piss you off -- sir. Just thought it’d be a bit easier to get rid of the burn now. I could at least clean the blood off you, if you like.”
“Yeah no, I’m mammon. If you know your demonology like you state, you’ll obviously know who and what I am. And it’s not like this is my first cross burn, it’ll heal in a few hours, I’m not being a stubborn brat. I’m not a little bitch like some that can’t handle a little pain. Should you really continue to piss someone off that is so much stronger then you?”

“Your hand. There’s a cut on it.” The female reached forward, grabbing the other’s hand and turning it palm up. The tip of her index traced along a small cut near the bottom of his palm. "I have a knack for finding injuries, I suppose."
“What are you trying to bandage?”

The shivers ran through the witch, as per usual when she practiced the powers that quickly drained her. Healing was hard; trying not to get caught and killed for it was harder. Safety was partially the reason she had come to the asylum, knowing no one one would kill her if she was fixing their slaves. “Yeah? Some of the furniture looks older than some of the people around here. Maybe we should childproof the place ‘til they remodel.”
Pulling her hand back, she flexed her fingers experimentally. “Caught the edge of a counter, didn’t think it would bite back,” she said. “Some of the furniture is in need of an update.”

“Yes, of course. You can never be too cautious though. Anyways, I’m Lillian, the one who just -- abruptly grabbed you.”

“I hate this room! Let me out!”
“Unless you’re claimed, you can’t leave the building. If you’re okay with me renting you for the day, I could take you for a tour of the place. It’s not very exciting but.. I suppose it’s better than this room.”

“Right -- sorry. No good excuse on my end. Jus’ didn’t want you to fall. It’s an unleveled part of the house, could be dangerous.”

“Disappointment is more of a personal issue. Perhaps you should lower your expectations.”
I’ve only just gotten here a few days ago, but I gotta say I’m highly disappointed with what I see.

“Oh, yeah, I think there’s a bulletin board on the first floor. Why would you want to sell your soul anyways?”
I don’t suppose there’s a place in the asylum where you can advertise a soul for sale, is there?

“I don’t care if you’re Satan himself -- you aren’t, are you? That cross burn looks pretty nasty. I know my demonology, those things don’t heal as quick. Now, quit being a stubborn brat.”
“Its not my blood and I’m one of the three most powerful demons here, I told you I don’t need a fucking bandage.”

Lillian took the other’s hand in her own, pressing her free palm against the cut. A slight warmth radiated with the contact, her eyes flickering up to meet Alecto’s. “Consider it a favor to me. The more practice, the merrier. How exactly did you manage this anyways?”
Alecto sighed heavily, too tired to bother properly healing herself (as her own healing abilities were limited and finicky at best) and simply extending her palm to the other nurse. She’d managed to cut herself catching the edge of a too-sharp counter. “Thanks,” she grumbled. She hadn’t slept well, and it was throwing her off balance.

“What, you didn’t spend your entire life waiting for the day you were admitted to an asylum? We’re only twice as scary as we look though, so there's nothing to be afraid of.”
“So this is the asylum. What a wonderful thing this promises to be.” He dropped his eyes.
