         lthngman—  an  independent,  private,  selective  writing  blog  for  Jake  Seresin  aka  Hangman  from  Top  Gun:  Maverick. Rules and information are down below.           Original Character.

                                                                𝙃𝙚'𝙡𝙡 𝙖𝙡𝙬𝙖𝙮𝙨 𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙜 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙩𝙤 𝙙𝙧𝙮.

Hello and welcome! Quick thing about me: My name is AJ! I’m 25, she/her, and I love to write. I love having creative conversations, analyzing characters/plots, and literally chatting about anything. My favorite genre is horror! Love to read horror books, and watch horror movies when I can!

1. Let’s be respectful. I ask you treat me, and any of my mutuals with respect. If there is an issue with me or anything please come talk with me. I can’t read your mind, and I know you can’t read mine. With that being said, the only drama that is allowed on my blog is within threads. 

2. Shipping. Romantic ships ARE NOT my priority. My priority is to get some development, have him interact with anyone and everyone. However, I do love a good ship here and there.

3. Relationship. Know that I WILL NOT assume bonds automatically (except for the basic canon events) Everything will be slightly vague. I would prefer to plot out all sorts of bonds. Please feel free to jump into my DMs so we can discuss things!!

4. Triggers. There may be some triggering content on here. If you are heavily triggered by war or war imagery, then I ask you don’t follow this blog. I will try and tag certain things, but I am only human.

5. Original characters. I love them. Normally many have about pages, or small summaries of them, but just make sure it’s there for me to access. You are more than welcome to also message me about your baby as well! I would love to listen! 

6. Out of character chatter. I love to chat/plot. Don’t be afraid to message me!!!! We can just chat about our day or about our muses. 

7. Interaction. I do prefer to plot in some way. I do like a good meme, but sometimes those can be too bland for me. It seems like I answer the same way which is what gets really boring for me. I lose interest in the thread. That is why I do prefer to plot a little. 

8. Verses/Fandoms. I am open to pretty much anything. I could probably fit her anywhere if you give me the time to think about it. In general if I follow your blog I wanna write with you. 

9. Icons. I'm currently making some icons, but I am totally chill with being iconless. Don't feel like you HAVE to use icons. Probably most of the time I won't myself.

Here's a small snippet I have for his background until I get it worked out more:

Jake was used to the military, used to jets, used to loss. Born in the Midwest to a relaxed father, and slightly more stern mother, Jake was a rather happy child. He loved to give aid when he could to those in need. It was something his parents believed in, and something the Midwest just seemed to pride themselves on.

However, at a young age, his mother didn't come to the front door. Instead, it was a man in a military uniform with horrible and devastating news... his mother crashed. She crashed because she wasn't going fast enough.

His father grew colder after the funeral, it seemed he lost his way without his wife at his side. Jake tried to be there for him, but in reality Jake needed his father to be there for him. Without a way to properly grieve, no one to speak with about his mother’s passing, Jake turned inward. His whole attitude changed, but his goals didn’t. He decided to enlist to become a pilot like his mother.

He trained hard, educated himself to be the best there was. which paid off in the end. He made it to Top Gun. During his career, he had met others along the way. Bradley “Rooster” Bradshaw was one of the few, and Jake took interest in him. Not only for his skills, but the fact he always seemed unsure in the air. It made him think of his mother, and sadly his brain needed to defend himself against his own pain. Rooster became the new brunt end of his attitude. 

His cocky attitude, fake (some) confidence, and the way he “hangs you out to dry” is all a defensive tactic for his own past issues. Despite not wanting to have the same end like his mother, he might just end up the same way either way with the way he’s flying now.
