Lucas stood near the edge of the pier, the soft hum of the water beneath and the gentle breeze tangled in his hair. He glanced back with a grin as Stassi, feeling glad that the two could finally have a date night. He was excited for this because it had been such a long time since the two had done something. “Okay.” He said. “I found this little spot that’s…well, let’s just say it’s got a bit of charm beyond the usual boardwalk cliché. He gestured toward a cluster of string lights swaying gently above a tucked-away bench. “But here’s the catch.” Lucas added, eyes lighting up. “There’s this game—one of those claw machines, you know? And I was wondering…think I could actually win you a stuffed animal? Because I’m feeling confident tonight, but I’m gonna need you to be my good luck charm.” He held out his hand for his girl. @anastasiaxhill

"That's rough. I'm sorry to hear that, Aspyn." He reached into his pocket and pulled out a charger. "Here, this one's mine. Might as well make your day a little less disastrous, right?" He tossed it to her with a half-smile, trying to lighten the mood. "Maybe if you start fresh with some good vibes, things will turn around. But if all else fails, I'm sure you could take a break and watch some Netflix."
"I've had the worst luck today." Aspyn exhaled. "I woke up late, my favoite pair of jeans have a whole right where the crotch is, my flat iron broke, I spilled coffee over my white shirt and my charger broke. I know mercury is in retrograde again, but who the fuck did I piss of for all that to happen to me today?" @rededgerpstarterblog

"Hell yeah I am, man." Lucas grinned. "Tell me what you want and I'll make it."
"You cooking the food? If you are, I know my hangover will be gone by the first bite."

Lucas chuckled darkly, shaking his head. "Yeah, it’s like they think we’re born yesterday. 'Oh, sure, let me just hand over my cash for some magic beans.' Fucking wild." His eyes scanning the crowd for any more sketchy types. "I don’t get how people fall for that stuff. I mean, we’re in San Sebastián, not some tourist trap. People should know better." He kicked a small stone as they walked, a little frustrated but mostly just amused by the whole thing. "I swear, it’s like every new city brings out a fresh crop of hustlers. You’d think they’d get bored by now."
"I think that's what we call 'bullshit', because there is no way that is true." River looked at the person who had come up to him and his friend that he was exporing San Sebastian with and started spewing nnsense to the two of them. "We're not buying whatever you're selling, please leave us alone." He added and looked at his friend once it was just the two of them again.
"Fucking grifters everywhere, it's truly ridiculous." @rededgerpstarterblog

Lucas grinned, looking around at the bustling streets and vibrant colors of the place. "You’re not wrong." He said, his eyes bright with excitement. "It feels like everything’s working in perfect harmony, right? The people, the food, even the air just feels…different here. Like, it’s not just a vacation, it’s an experience." He let out a laugh. "Honestly, I don’t think we’re ever going to top this. We might have to start coming back every year just to make sure we don’t forget how awesome it was."
"This has got to be the best vacation we have ever taken." Noah looked at the person he was walking around with. "The food, the atmosphere, the vibes, everything is just...amazing." @rededgerpstarterblog

"I've been doing good, I can't complain." Lucas said with a grin. "How about you, how are you doing? Anything new with you?"
"I'm glad I'm here too." Maren laughed and looked at hm. "How are you doing though? How's life?"

Lucas laughed, nodding in agreement. "That couldn't be anymore true. Red Edge will always be here." He chuckled as he gave his friend a small smile. "It's definitely going to give us a hangover, but we know that some food will always do the trick."
"You know I can't stay away for too long, hell I could go to the bottom of of the ocean or go to the edge of the universe and this damn town would still bring me back." Aiden laughed and looked at Lucas. "I am very much here for good and yes you can." He chuckled.
"Whatever you want to call it, it'll be sure to give me a hangover in the morning."

"Oh, 100% agree. And yes, “I’d Lie”?? That song lives in my head rent-free. I cannot wait to hear it in her voice now, with that older, rawer emotion. It’s gonna wreck me in the best way. Rep TV can drop any day now."
"My favorite time of year is when Swifites, like myself, clown and think she'll announce something and yes I do hope she announces Rep TV soon, but like I'm also so excited to hear Taylor's version of I'd Lie, it's such a good song." @rededgerpstarterblog

"I wouldn't say that I do. I think that sometimes I go and wonder if I’ve already hit my peak." He paused, then added to Luke. “I think people don’t talk enough about how you can love what you do and still want more. Doesn’t make you ungrateful. Just human.”
"Do you ever feel like you're in a rut?" Luke asked. "Like don't get me wrong, I love my job, love getting to travel, meeting new people and everything that comes with being a deejay, but there are times when I just want a career change." @rededgerpstarterblog

"I'd like to. I just want it to be the perfect moment, she deserves the best." Lucas said with a grin.
"You think you're gonna ask her to marry you anytime soon?" He asked.

“No need to apologize, Maren. I’m just glad you made it. We’ve all been there. Work can be a nightmare sometimes, especially when it throws those last-minute curveballs.” Lucas gave her a quick smile.
"I am so sorry that I'm late." Maren apologized as she walked up to her friend outside of the restaurant that she had agreed to meet them at. "Work got...well shitty, when I had to leave and I had to stay a few minutes extra." @rededgerpstarterblog

Lucas laughed, nodding in agreement. "Yeah, the scent of wet pavement and regret is practically the town's official fragrance. Adds to the charm, right?" He smirked before his expression softened a bit at Elias's admission. "Traveling takes a toll." He said. "We all need our rest. Hope you get a chance to actually sleep soon." At the mention of the restaurant, Lucas’s face lit up a bit. "It’s going pretty well. You know how it is, always something new to deal with. But we're making it work. As for Gordon Ramsay." He grinned, "I think he's still waiting for me to mess up so he can come down here and yell at me on TV." He chuckled. "But yeah, business is steady. I’ve got some new ideas for the menu too, if you’re up for being a guinea pig."
"I think if it smelled like anything other than wet pavement and regret, we'd be in trouble." He looked at him. "Yeah I'm good, just sleep deprived from traveling as much as I have been lately." He admitted. Though it wasn't the full truth, but that was for another time.
"How's the restaurant going? Got Gordon Ramsey singing your praises yet?" He asked.

Lucas grinned, shaking his head as he gave Aiden a playful shove. "Man, I thought you were the one who wanted to stay away from this place." He glanced around at the familiar scenery of Red Edge, the town that always seemed to hold onto its secrets and its charm. "I get it though." He continued. "This place does have a way of pulling you back. And now that you're here for good, I guess that means I can finally stop pretending I’m not a little glad to have you back." He chuckled, his tone warm and friendly. He raised an eyebrow at the mention of a "crappy beer." "I think you mean 'iconic Red Edge brew." Lucas corrected with a smirk. "But sure, let’s grab some and catch up. Honestly, I could use a cold one right about now."
Aiden smiled as Lucas approached him and returned the pat on the back with a chuckle. "I think it's nice that Red Edge doesn't change too much, you know?" He asked and looked at him. "If it did, I'd be worried, like I'd really think the mayor was up to something if I came back and this town was different."
"As for the cool mysterious guy who left town, well, no matter how hard I try to stay away from this place, it always calls me back home." He chuckled and rolled his shoulders, as if shaking off the weight of the town, or a secret.
"I am back for good." He admitted and smiled. "So, should we grab some crappy beer from the keg and you can catch me up on everything?"

Lucas grinned as he made his way over, effortlessly weaving through the crowd “Wouldn’t dream of forgetting about you, Aiden.” He called back.
He clapped a hand on Aiden’s shoulder as he reached him, his expression relaxed. “Not bad, huh? Feels like nothing ever changed. Same old Red Edge. Same old chaos.” He paused, taking in the familiar buzz of laughter and chatter, the late-night energy that never quite seemed to wear off.
“I’m just surprised you’re actually here, though.” Lucas raised an eyebrow. "Thought you'd be too busy being ‘the mysterious guy who left town,’ but I guess even the great Aiden's got a soft spot for this place."
He nodded toward the crowd. "You back for good this time, or just passing through again?"
Aiden leaned back against the old oak tree, a lazy smile tugging at his lips as he watched the familiar chaos of Red Edge unfold in front of him. The park hadn’t changed — still littered with mismatched picnic blankets, old radios blaring half-decent music, and the warm buzz of people catching up like no time had passed.
His jacket was a little too light for the night chill, but he didn’t mind. Being back felt like slipping into a favorite song you hadn’t heard in years.
He spotted a few familiar faces weaving through the crowd and straightened up, pushing off the tree with an easy shrug. "Well, look who decided not to forget about me," Aiden called out with a grin, voice carrying just enough to be teasing without starting a scene.
The night was young, the drinks were cheap, and for the first time in a while, Aiden actually felt like he was exactly where he was supposed to be. @rededgerpstarterblog
