Ok! So inspired by a conversation with @sideguitars and @waytooinvested , and not at all because I’m feeling weird supergirl withdrawals, I decided to see if there’s any explanation given for why Alura/Thara aren’t ~20 years older than Kara would expect. The short answer is no! Argo never entered the Phantom Zone, so that’s out. Argo isn’t orbiting a star to give its inhabitants powers/slow their aging because Val has thalotian lung. So that’s a no as well. The atmospheric dome invented by Zor-el doesn’t seem to have that capability??

This is all taken from episodes 3x20-3x22 by the way!

Things I noticed from these episodes that interested me include: the reign Lena conversation that’s all about how reign can see the darkness in her, first reign is just fun, second it’s obviously just laying the groundwork for villain Lena on pretty thick! Third Metallo!Lena doesn’t need a RedK!Kara that base is WELL covered.

I’m deeply curious at what point they decided Mon-el/Kara wasn’t going to happen because 3x21 absolutely seems intent on it (22 seems to be having Alura comment on it a lot too)!?

Lastly, either Kryptonite doesn’t hurt that bad, or Kara’s a wimp because the Kryptonian Witches handle it phenomenally well when Alex shoots them with Kryptonite bullets.

(Also for an advanced scientific race Kryptonians are worse than Lena Luthor given like 3 weeks to do science, portal & harun-el both)

I don't wanna @ anyone because I understand how fast things seem to move in today's landscape of streaming shows dropping entire seasons in one day, and networks pumping out new series constantly to try to attract more subscribers with no intent to actually maintain those shows over time but I just saw someone self-deprecatingly lament that they are still thinking about a show that ended almost a year ago, making fan art and playlists for it, and I want to be very clear:

you can still create fanworks when it comes to old media!! PLEASE do!! there are always going to be new fans who will appreciate it, and veteran fans who are dying for new content and new perspectives. also, less than a year is NOTHING. the original Star Trek series was on TV six decades ago and there are still people losing their minds over it, writing stories and reblogging gifsets daily, and that's only one example.

a fandom lasts as long as there are people who love a thing, even if it's only a handful of people. love what you love and write and draw and make gifs and playlists about it!
