So he could assume that this other person was a performer of some kind. Lucien raised his brows in surprise at the tale. Then again, his first encounter with his own boyfriend had been just about as romantic as Wayneâs.
âYou broke your nose?â He gave a small nod. âHe must have smelled the blood then. Thatâs probably what drew him to you.â Of course that would catch the otherâs attention if he was a vampire as Wayne said. Made sense. He found it a bit comical actually.
Birds of a Feather Flock Together
âNo no, itâs fine! I understand. I donât usually have guests over eitherâŠâ He assumed that they didnât have company for very similar reasons that Lucien didnât. âNo, Iâm fine.â He looked around and took a seat on the couch. He felt awkward. What were they even going to talk about?
âYour⊠boyfriend. Vincent, right? Is he around? And I hope you donât mind me asking, but uh⊠how did you two meet?â He was curious. How was their relationship working exactly? He found it unusual.
Wayne nodded, sitting on the arm of the couch, staring at his hands. Now this was a bit awkward. He didnât really know what he had been planning on asking Lucien. Vincent was asleep, so he couldnât introduce them either without waking Vincent up. And a grumpy vincent was not favorable.
âYes.. Heâs asleep in the bedroom, I donât really want to wake him up.â Wayne answered with a smile. âOh⊠uh⊠We met at one of his shows. Someone in the crowd almost broke my nose and it got his attention.â
Now that Wayne was re-telling it, he realized that wasnât the most graceful, or cute âfirst meetingâ story.

Wayne took another deep breath, trying to sort out his words. He regretted not ordering something before sitting down, some tea to calm his nerves would have helped.
âOkayâŠPlease donât think Iâm crazyâ He started, looking at Lucien with wide eyes. âButâŠ. I have this friendâŠ.okayâŠOkay, more than a friendâ Wayne stuttered.

He made a mental note of the other manâs âboyfriendâ and his name. Vincent. He hoped this was real. He hoped this was actually happening. He actually felt a a bit excited. More nervous and anxious than anything, but excited too.
âThat sounds perfect.â He got up to follow the other to their house. Hopefully he wasnât some serial killer or nut job who was thinking of Twilight vampires.
âIâm Lucien. Itâs... nice to meet you.â Was it nice? It was weird. He felt nervous. This was weird. What strange circumstances to meet under.
âForgive me for just running out like that. Itâs not often someone asks me that.â

That was so straightforward and Lucien wasnât sure how to react. This kid sounded so serious. It had to be true. This had to be real. This wasnât some kind of joke, right?
Wait. Did he say boyfriend? He frowned. What was another vampire doing dating a human? That wasnât going to end well....
âWell...â He took a breath before answering. âYes. I am...â This was so surreal. He almost wanted to pinch himself. âIs there somewhere else we could talk though? Thereâs... too many people here and Iâve already been out too long as it is..â Everything was hurting. His face, which was the least covered part of him, stung and burned. He needed to get away from the windows and somewhere darker.

Lucien looked up from the book in his hands. Heâd been looking up every other sentence for the man. And there he was. He closed it and put it away in his back when he realized that this stranger was actually already headed right for him. He froze up, sitting there trying to think of what he was going to say. The stranger entered the coffee shop and approached him.
He stared at the cupcakes and money for a moment. Heâd completely forgotten about that. He felt a twinge of embarrassment as he reached a gloved hand out and took the items.
âThank you...â
He wasnât sure how to answer or continue.
âWhat.. exactly did you mean?â
Birds of a Feather Flock Together
It wasnât very often that Lucien went into town; he avoided it as much as possible. But even he got lonely and bored every now and then, and although he enjoyed his privacy and the company of his fish, even he had to admit that solitude with nothing but the hum of his aquariums was no way to live.Â
Heâd caught wind of a new bakery in town. Well⊠not ânewâ per se. But it was relatively new to him, considering he rarely went out. He decided heâd give it a try while he was out and about with his errands.
He went through the ritual of having to overdress himself with a ridiculous amount of layers. Some thermal pants, then the denim, more thermals beneath the long sleeves shirt then a sweater just to be safe, gloves, thick shoes, a scarf to protect his neck, a hat to shield his face, sunglasses. He walked with his head low, always keeping it beneath the shade of his hat.
He took care of the business first and bought the things he needed. Food, parts to replace the broken filters in his aquariums, fish food, some new clothes because heâd noticed he was falling behind in the trends again, and a few new books to add to his library. It was while he was on the same end of town as his favorite bookstore that he decided to go into the bakery that happened to be on the same block.
By the looks of it, the store was rather busy, but he didnât mind the wait in line. If anything it was just nice to be inside where it was air conditioned and out of the sun. The line progressed rather quickly and he was soon standing at the counter. He was about to order when he couldnât help but notice the strange look that the other man was giving him. He was used to this though. All bundled up in the middle of summer? Who wouldnât find it odd?
âUh⊠Could I just get two cupcakes please? Both vanilla.â

Lucien wasnât sure what to expect when the employee leaned in to speak to him. Heâd expected some kind of question about his outfit. The actual question caught him off guard. He was unable to hide the shock in his features. Did this person know? What friend? They had a friend who was a... No, he couldnât just jump to conclusions like that. But what else could he possibly mean with that question?!
âI--.... uh... W-Well..â He was flustered and couldnât keep the stutter from his voice. How was he supposed to answer? Did he tell the truth? Did he answer yes but then find out the other was joking and then make a fool of himself? Did he say no? What was he supposed to do. There were other people in the building. This conversation was just between them, but for some reason Lucien suddenly felt as though everyone were staring and waiting for him to either deny or reveal the truth.
âS-Sorry...â He dropped the money onto the counter, and turned around, fleeing. He hurried out of the store without his change and without the damn cupcakes for that matter.
Once he was outside, Lucien felt embarrassed. He had to find out what the other meant. What did he know? There was a coffee place a few buildings over and across the street. Lucien went there, ordering himself something and taking a seat by the window. He kept his eyes on the bakery, waiting for the other man to get off work and come out so that he could catch him and ask without other people around.

Hey! I rally love your writing! I noticed you aren't on much but I would love to see more! Do you write anything else? No pressure! Just thanks for everything!
((OOC: oh my god. AHAHAHAHA To say that Iâm not on much would be a complete understatement. I literally saw this ask 4 months after you sent it and I am so so sorry. I originally made this OC to play with my best friendâs OC. I donât rp on Tumblr much and they were really the only person I rped with. So when they got busy with real life and stopped logging on, I sort of stopped logging in too. I didnât know other people enjoyed reading my nonsense! I do rp other things, some animes, some shows. And I do write some prose/poetry on a different blog. Had I known other people wanted to rp with me or that people liked me being active I would have logged in more or shared some of my other rp blogs! Theyâre all relatively inactive, but thatâs only because my old rp partners have stopped logging on and I havenât really found new ones. I also rp on Facebook, although FB isnât a very rp friendly site so I donât know why I havenât just made the switch to here. Sorry for the long and late response! Come off anon maybe? And I could share some of my other blogs, characters, and poems!))

((I told marvincapricornus I'd get replies and a starter done. So far I've only managed one reply :/ I'm sorry I'm a shitty rp partner, babe. But I did get the one done which is a feat for me :U I have two more drafted though! I don't have internet at home so I can't get them done until I get my laptop somewhere with wifi later this weekend. But hey, while I'm talking to ya here, I'm still excited and wanna do that "Like a tamed wolf" one with Hannibal. It's your turn on that one. Another accomplishment was I started a new thread with wonderlandsxsongbird. Cool beans for new rp partners :U ))

Lucien cursed under his breath as he sped off towards the mall. He put his phone on speaker, tossing it into the passengers seat and listening to Marvin try to calm himself. There was absolutely no way he'd be able to get Marvin out of there in the middle of the day. He needed some time to figure this out. He might have to just make sure Marvin stayed hidden and wait it out until sundown.
"Marvin. Marvin! Marv, listen. Just stay calm. You're right, it will be okay. I'm on my way. Just stay quiet, okay? I'll be there soon."
He kept the other on the line until he arrived. Place with a sheep? He looked around, trying to remember which brand has the sheep logo. Of course when it mattered he couldn't remember a damn thing. He brought the phone back up to his ear as he continued his search.
"You said a sheep? And where they put the garbage? Is there anything else you can tell me? Marvin, listen. I'm here. It's going to be alright. I'm here. I'm here at the mall, okay? I'll bring you some water and we'll figure this out."

He hadn't even noticed the people that had run past them. He groaned and lifted a hand, rubbing the back of his head. He was fine. Or at least he would be. He was hungry. That's what he was. He gave a small nod to the question, taking a look around then checking the time. It was pretty late, but considering he didn't leave the house much during the day, he enjoyed his nightly strolls. That is, when he wasn't being physically assaulted by strangers.
"Yeah. I'm fine." He wasn't sure whether to give his name or not. This wasn't exactly how he imagined most people met and introduced themselves. But since she'd given hers, he might as well be polite. "I'm Lucien."
â (you set yourself up for this one)
Send â for my muse to react to yours shoving them against a wall.
Lucien let out an involuntary grunt, a flash of discomfort and pain crossing his features for only a split second. This normally would not have phased him, and he should have been easily able to push her away. Should have. Lucien hadnât fed in a long time. As his back hit the wall, his head also bounced against it, making everything spin for a few seconds. Had she not been there holding him up, he would have collapsed. He hadnât even seen where she had come from. He tried to get himself oriented, ignoring the growing headache and gnawing painful hunger he felt. "Who are you? What do you want from me. I donât have any money on me."

His eyes flickered back to the doctor, only to quickly find something else to look at. The man made some good points, and he got straight to the point with the questions. He tried to think. What had changed? Where did he start. In the last year alone? Or the last century? Let's just keep it as recent as possible.
"I suppose what really made me decide to come was an acquaintance of mine went to therapy, and it really seemed to help them. That and..." He tailed off. This was supposed to be a safe place for him to talk, right? Somewhere he could openly speak about his thoughts and emotions? That didn't made it any less unnerving or uncomfortable.Â
"I don't socialize much. My condition makes leaving the house during the day a hassle and I don't have many friends. It gets very lonely at my home with no one but my fish to talk to."
Something Like A Tamed Wolf
Following after the doctor into the office, Lucien looked around and examined the spacious area. His eyes scanned the books, trying to get a glimpse at some of the titles printed on the spines. He took a seat and exhaled, trying to relax and not look as tense as he felt.
Pursing his lips, Lucien glanced back up at Dr. Lectar and waited. Was he supposed to say something? He wasnât sure how these things usually began or what was supposed to happen.
"Iâve heard nothing but good things about you. To be honest, Iâve never done anything like this before. Iâd never once considered therapy until only very recently. Iâm not quite sure what to expect." He made an attempt at breaking the silence and speaking. But even as he spoke, Lucienâs eyes seemed to wander away from the other and back up to the bookshelves.
"You have an impressive collection. Have you read them all?"

Well that can't be good. He wasn't sure what he was supposed to do or how he was going to transport Marvin back home in the middle of the day. He tried to figure it out, all the while trying to also calm Marvin as he ran out the house and jumped into his car.
"Alright, just stay calm. We'll figure this out, okay? Just stay out of sight and keep quiet. Where are you again? You said something about a sheep?" He racked his brain for where he might find sheep in this god forsaken town.
"Do you need water? Or will you be okay until I can figure out how to get you home?"
Of course this couldn't have happened at night when it was more convenient.
