since some of yall (mostly racist white people and c**ns) got upset with me the other day about supporting black fanfiction writers, i decided to explain to you all about why i said what i said.

Profic

Hello! I’m Lucifer, I’ll be explaining what profiction is.

The Term

Some people may ask- “Lucifer, what the hell is profiction?”

Well, ProFiction (Problematic Fiction) is a term for not caring about what people do/like in media. Examples: not caring about ships, not caring about aging up characters and sexualizing them/ sexualizing minor characters, etc.

Explaining why it’s okay

ProFiction revolves around fiction, meaning that people who are profiction only support things like incest and sexualization of minor characters in fiction. No, people who are profiction don’t need therapy. Don’t act like they’re full on pedophiles that are mentally ill. Profiction is also a coping mechanism. “But wouldn’t it be a unhealthy coping mechanism?”

No, my therapist even said that it was okay to cope with trauma in fiction. It is a completely fine way to cope with trauma and project yourself onto characters.

Antis

Now that I got those things out of the way, let me talk about Antis (or Anti- Profiction/Proship). Some antis are nice but most send literal death threats to children over shipping something that’s fictional.

It’s honestly funny how some antis will say “Proship/profic DNI!!!!” But then continue to interact with proshippers/profics who say “antis don’t interact please!”. Antis usually say nonsense and say “YOU NEED THERAPY!/srs/neg/g” like first of all: that’s overuse of tone indicators, don’t baby ND people. Second of all, not everyone can get therapy. And even if they can I’m sure the therapists could care less about a child shipping a 18 year old with a 14 year old.
