Thoughts on As Above, So Below (2014)

I feel like documentary/found footage should have natural character interactions. Maybe it’s just the beginning, but Scarlett’s interactions with George seem more like forced romance.

Maybe I’m just spoiled with Cloverfield (2008)

Scarlett is kinda a bitch for dragging George along

Yeah Scarlett has big main character energy, and in the annoying way

The character interactions did get much better when they went down in the catacombs

Kind of a weird way to wrap up the movie and even weirder end credit music

If you want cave diving with a more believable world, watch The Descent (2005)

Thoughts on Sweeney Todd: Demon Barber of Fleet Street (2007)

The transitions from scene to scene are a bit too CGI for my taste

They did go really heavy on the colors and makeup. Just post Burton’s prime. This is more algorithmic for him.

I feel like we should see more warm undertones on people?? The smog didn’t remove all the red from the world, no?

Love to see the mentally ill person go after the mentally ill in a slightly different font.

I really enjoyed Depp’s street scene during “Epiphany”. The stylistic choice to have his character invisible to others was nice, but would’ve been more impactful with a lusher color palette throughout the rest of the movie.

The second half really picked up

The musical part is still a personal favorite

Okay, I like Pineapple Express (2008), but it kinda takes forever to finish out. It would’ve been a perfect 90ish minute movie.

It was the first straight-up comedy/action movie I enjoyed, though. That and Superbad.
