Just tried to talk help a Hard of Hearing person find their class because, and I quote, “I know sign launguage” ONLY TO PANIC AND FORGET EVERYTHING AND RESORT TO FINGER SPELLING.
I am so mortified and embarrassed and I feel so bad for the HoH person like I’m so sorry 😭 your teacher just wanted me to check you knew where you were going. I promised at one point in time I would have been helpful. Omg.
I feel so naive and like I’ve done something morally wrong because people always talk about how annoying it is when people say they “know sign launguage” when they don’t.
I guess moral of the story this will be a learning curve for me. Just a very very steep one 😃👍.
One day I will be fluent enough to be ACTUALLY helpful but until then I’m just gonna sit here and stare at a wall and remember what I’ve done 😭😭
