somewhere out there right now is a kid with curly hair being raised by people who have wavy hair at best and those people are giving them 2-in-1 shampoo and conditioner and telling them to dry brush it. and that kid is gonna spend all of middle school and high school hating their hair and moping over the flat iron. they're being told right now that if they don't dry-brush their curl pattern into oblivion every morning it means they're unkempt and gross even though they naturally have the kind of ringlets that a thousand bridezillas would commit horrible murders for every june. it's happening right now it's an absolute epidemic and a tragedy every time

saw a twt thread asking ppl abt fave multiple eitos ending. was genuinely surprised to see almost no one say 10/together forever. like it's mine and it's not close bc like. while it's comparatively less "oh my fucking god" than 09/11, i love it for how much it recontextualizes...not only endurance match but also a massive amount about eito (and aotsumi) in general?

like it's where he comes closest to winning. genuinely does win, honestly. takumi admits defeat, and while he does try to kill himself by way of sirei before eito can kill his friends, he also does so out of guilt/penance. and if eito doesn't want that - which he doesn't - then it's able to spark enough willpower for eito to just take over fully early. he. has the power to get what ending he wants.

which makes it feel so revealing that 1. he doesn't know what he wants, and 2. he doesn't want takumi to die. like that "isn't this what you wanted, for me to die?" "of course not!" exchange fucking kills me.

like-small tangent, but. takumi and eito's kill counts of each other are heavily lopsided - takumi can kill eito a fair bit. eito? kills takumi a grand total of once. and it's at a time when he's not in his right mind/not fully in control. like to put it into perspective nozomi kills takumi more times than eito does. i thought at first well okay, it's because we the player stop boss fights against him from becoming lethal, but it's still weird, right? you'd think if he wanted to kill takumi that badly, there'd be a few deaths to him of like sneak attacks and stuff. but no! and with together forever context, it feels like it's because, cards on the table, he just doesn't want to kill takumi.

(this also makes endurance match hit more for me! it's. not. his life he's begging for. because he is going to win. it's takumi's.)

like that's what makes together forever magical to me. eito gets an absolute victory over takumi, and what does he do? ...he willingly backs down and takes a much lesser victory so their time together can extend forever and ever. it's just. so much that that's what he wants, if takumi's going to stop fighting back.

like it sorta shoots a hole in the idea that it's just hatred or just revenge. given the opportunity to have takumi get exactly what he gave him, or to have takumi give up and admit defeat, he'll pass it up in favor of being with him forever. it's. deeply revealing for what he wants, and what he wants is more time with takumi over his actual evil plans. it's great. what on earth is wrong with him.
