How crucial do you think soft skills are? Well, let us change the question a bit. Would you consider being polite a soft skill or a human skill? Again, assisting the elderlies with work would be considered a soft skill or a human skill? You see, soft skills are all about being more human! And so, they aren't really an optional skill to add. They are the skills that make you likeable. Think of the multitude of times when having a soft approach got stuff done for you. Now, wouldn't you want the same to happen with your kid as well?

Today is undoubtedly the world of teaching shifting to online medium. Thanks to the pandemic, the boost to this shift has been immense. However, did you know that being on phone, even for learning, damages the brain cells. Plus, the entire cognitive abilities see a significant fall. We are not saying it, Centre 4 Research took out an elaborate report suggesting the same. We shall be discussing more about it soon, till then- Stay Tuned!

There is this very smart way to motivate your child to read and no, it isn't the carrot and stick trivialities! Just pay them per book. Probably create a safe where you will put the money every time they finish a book and then on the birthday, the case will be opened and you will add equal amount probably and buy them a gift of their choice!! Sounds like a plan? What are your thoughts?

Mom is that a baby diaper?
As a parent, your child must be bombarding you with questions about the n number of things that exist in the universe. And it can be anything ranging from the sensor based taps to sanitary pads. How do you address those questions though? Do you brush them off or do you genuinely make an attempt at answering

For things that are meant to be
It is an oft asked question by the soon to be teenagers and of course, teenagers too- Why do schools even bother about "Uniforms". Well, the answer lies just there! It is a Uniform. It is meant to showcase that everyone who is in the boundaries of the school is to be treated equally. Be it the economical background, intellectual capability or any other differentiating factor, there is equality and equity, there is Uniformity. You see, kids will always have some or the other questions. As they grow, they will question things too, try to find logic. It is important that we don't shut them with "this is how it is".

For the Kid who has friends in the "US"
At LUMOkid, we pride in one thing for sure! As a matter of fact, we take pride in many things but cultural assimilation is something that makes us super proud! Usually our kids learn from their friends, pick the habits of their family members or behave like their neighbors do. So, if you realise, the radius of influence is pretty small and since it is usually the birds of the same feather flocking together, you know what it means. However, at LUMOkid, your child will get to interact with kids from the US, the UK and other geographies too. While a lot of youngsters "globalise" only after certain age and then have their thinking horizons broadened, imagine the kind of impact such a cultural assimilation will have on a mind that is still molding!! Now, aren't we looking at some global citizens

Are you listening to their story?
Have you ever wondered how many stories your child tells you daily? Sometimes it is about a classmate of theirs, sometimes about a teacher, sometimes it is about some fascinating thing that they saw that day and sometimes it is just a standard tale of how their day went. It is important that you listen to their tales though because these tiny tales are full of opportunities for you to know your child better and for the child to believe that they can trust you!
