Every vaper has heard that at least once and rolled their eyes while sighing inwardly.

Fact is we DO know what’s in those things!

E-liquid is comprised of four main ingredients:

Nicotine

Vegetable Glycerin

Propylene Glycol

Flavouring

Both Vegetable Glycerin and Propylene Glycol are widely used in common household products (such as toothpaste), personal care products (lotions and shampoos), herbal products (non alcoholic solvent) and in medical preparations (cough medicine and inhalers)

We also know what is added to cigarette tobacco and the list is so long (almost 600 additives!) that it’s not practical to make a list here.

Consider that another 4,000 chemical compounds are created as by-products of combustion when a cigarette is lit, and suddenly e-liquid with its 4 apparently ‘mystery’ ingredients seems pretty tame! No combustion is involved in the vaporisation of e-liquid, nor is the liquid heated to a temperature remotely close to that of a lit cigarette. Thus the number of extra chemical by-products created by the act of vaping are minimal.
