47 for the intimacy prompts <3
pillow fort
pre-relationship buck & eddie & chris, post-tsunami nightmares; 2k words for 47. cuddling under blankets
They’re on their 48 hours off, and yesterday, sweat-soaked and tired in the changing room, Eddie had said wanna watch a movie tomorrow, and Buck, gulping, having missed him like a limb, had said yeah—yes, of course, trying not to fling himself into Eddie’s arms, and one Jurassic Park and scrubbing marinara sauce out of the couch cushions where Christopher dropped his slice of pizza turned into beer and Mission Impossible on low volume, sun long gone down, Chris down the hall.
It’s just that this might be the first time in half a year that Buck actually feels at ease, no fire ablaze in his chest, no restless legs, just him on a couch with a movie playing and his mind blissfully quiet. He’s barely aware what’s happening on screen, really; there’s Tom Cruise on screen in a harness, but there’s also Eddie on the couch next to him, beer bottle held in his lap, exhaustion drawn in the lines around his half-lidded eyes, and even motionless he keeps drawing Buck’s eyes—just looking his fill after too much time apart.

I have seen Stuck, and the opening montage specifically, more times than I can count and I only just noticed that when Chris is getting dressed, he puts his little green polo on backwards, and now it makes Eddie’s little smile back to him that much more endearing.
Please ignore how terrible the quality is I recorded it off my tv. Let this be a lesson to how talented and skilled gif makers are! And the time!!

buddie following each other around the house while one of them is doing chores. buck’s washing dishes so eddie sits at the kitchen table just to be nearby. eddie’s putting a new shelf together in the living room so buck is perched on the arm of the couch watching him. buck’s cooking dinner so eddie hovers next to him and leans in every now and then, and it’s definitely just so he can see how the food is coming along, no other reason. eddie’s fixing a problem with his car so buck is sat in the driver’s seat while he does it, honking the horn every once in a while just to playfully annoy eddie a little. them doing things without each other but needing to be in each other’s space so much and so often that they end up together 99% of the time anyway

One day, a couple months after Bobby dies, Buck gets a notification in his phone that Bruce Springsteen is touring again and there’s going to be a date in LA.
And he’s torn, because, on one hand, the idea going to a Springsteen concert without Bobby brings up this fresh, awful kind of grief, and why did he forget to unsubscribe from that mailing list anyways, and it’s just another reminder of Bobby is dead, and things will never be the same.
And on the other hand, the thought of not going feels awful in a different kind of way, because he knows that Bobby would have loved to go to this, and he would have wanted Buck to go, and, who knows, maybe Bruce Springsteen will decide that he’s officially done touring for real this time, and Buck will have missed out on his last chance to see him in concert one last time, which would mean missing out on this one last chance to connect with Bobby in this way, even if just in spirit.
So he buys two tickets, because he knows that he can’t not go, but he can’t go alone. But he can’t go with Maddie, because she doesn’t like Springsteen, and he can’t go with Eddie, because he’d just be worried about how Buck is doing the whole time, and he can’t go with anyone else, really, because it just wouldn’t be the same, and there’s really only one person who he can even imagine bringing.
So yeah, he brings Chris to his first Springsteen concert. This is an activity for a father and his son, after all.
