Kids these days. ❝ There. Now you can run along and do whatever it is you younger ones get up to in order to entertain yourselves. Just try not to wonder back with any bleeding or bruised limbs, got it? ❞

“Thanks Rosa!” Kiragi leans over to give the summoner a quick hug “You’re really nice, I really like you!” He hurried off, rushing back to tackle Selkie to the ground, while she was distracted and trying to play with Velouria, who seemed utterly done with both of them and their rough housing.

“I’m so ready! I’ll even practice my scary face.”

Suddenly, a pair of arms wrap around Kiragi and pull him close! "Surprise attack!" A familiar voice laughs, before roughly ruffling his hair. Once it's adequately mussed, Takumi finally stops and pulls something out from behind him, handing it to the young archer. "A bow I carved and crafted myself. Happy birthday, Kiragi." The smile is audible in his voice, even if he didn't turn around to look back at his dad.

Kiragi was on his way out, but of course, Dad caught him before he could. He was about to say something in greeting, but stopped when the new bow was handed to him. 

It was a lot more intricate than he was used to, and even was personalized with a beautifully formed K near the handle of the bow. Kiragi broke out into a face splitting smile and turned around to hug his Dad as tight as he could.

“I love it thank you Dad!!!”

“It’s my birthday so I’m not going to do any princely things today!! I’m gonna go run around with my bow and arrows and shoot things!” Good luck catching this little gremlin.

I have to be at work but say happy birthday to Kiragi and I’ll answer them when I can <3

“That was fantastic Kiria! Thank you! I’m sure our audience (especially hopefully Veronica) loved that!” Moving away the microphone for the performance was just as easy as having brought it out in the first place. Their next performance also required only a bow and arrows, or so they ahd been told, and Morgan assumed Kiragi was going to be the one bringing the targets.

“And now, performing a daring stunt, Kiragi will be riding on his partner Kinshi, Fuji, as he tries to hit three targets he sets up while riding Fuji! Fuji will take control of the flight while Kiragi focuses on aiming at his targets from quite a distance! And uh, Kiragi if you hit anyone in the audience, you’re the one responsible for that, just saying. Please give a warm welcome to Kiragi and Fuji! And maybe look for cover too.”

Morgan looked even more nervous than he did with Aidan’s performance, honestly, as he stepped off the stage.

Honestly, he was probably going to get into trouble for this by way of his Dad, for using Fuji, but it couldn’t be helped! Kiragi wanted to do what he loved, and that was archery, and hunting. The twelve year old Prince smiled and did a little bow at some of the audience who aaw’d at how small and adorable he was- sticking his tongue out at Morgan just after. “It won’t be that bad! Fuji, up!” 

Getting onto the Kinshi’s back easily, like he’d done it a million times, the bird flew up high in the air. Left on the ground now, were three targets with one small dot in the center of it. After getting some what high and away form the onlookers, Kiragi stood up on the animal’s back and addressed his waiting people. “So, today I’m gonna shoot those targets from way high,” he starts. Just then, one of the targets begins to move, having wheels at the bottom and a string attached on either end, one which led to Shiro on the other side, giving his cousin a thumbs up and the other leading to Kana who also smiled eagerly.

“And they move too, to make it a lot harder!” He smiles, drawing one of his arrows. “Don’t worry, I won’t hit anyone! Shiro  and Kana, let’s go!!” 

It starts with Shiro pulling on the targets, Kana following after to make them all move. 

“First one!” Kiragi quickly pulls on the bowstring and lets it go, sending the arrow tearing through the air quickly, and with a loud POP hits the target dead center. “Faster guys!” The targets move a little faster, at least as much as the two boys could manage. The young Prince again pulled back on the bowstring, holding the arrow just right as he concentrated on the moving targets, waiting for just the right moment before letting it zip through the air, again. Hitting the target dead center with a loud noise. 

He grinned wide, taking the third arrow out and getting set up. “Last arr-OH!” suddenly, his boots slipped just a fraction on Fuji’s mounts, losing his balance and falling off his friend. There was an loud horrified gasp from the crowd, and for a moment, his eyes had widened as he looked at the ground below. He was done for, falling down to the ground.

At least, until one of Fuji’s large claws wrapped around his middle with as much care as it could give still high enough. Quickly in that moment, Kiragi held the arrow to the bow, pulling back the bowstring and letting it lose.

Finally hitting the third target on the middle, but just a centimeter off. He frowned a tiny bit. “Dang it. I thought I had it this time.”

“Woooo! Party! Last one to the water is a slug!”

“I, uh, I didn’t know they wanted us to bring food and drinks for the Beach Party.”

“Geez, it’s so hot! I’m spending most of the day in the water, seriously.”

“Hey, I can still see the spot in the sand where Lyn beat up Hector. It’s like a Sand Angel!”

“It’s called a Sand Crater, genius.”

“Who wants to make a sand castle?!”

“I still have nightmares about the misfires.”

“Er, a beach party isn’t usually the sort of thing for slow dancing.”

“Keep me away from the food table. No really, I might eat the whole thing if you don’t.”

“Wow, just look at the ocean from here. It’s so beautiful!”

“The ocean definitely is a wonderful sight. And so are you.”

“We should watch the sunset from here.”

“It’s so calm and soothing on this side of the beach, away from everything else.”

“Do you want to go into the water together?”

“Wait, are those tiki torches? No, not that Tiki.”

“Oh my god, I saw ice cream in a cooler on one of the tables!”

“Wait, someone’s actually catching and cooking fish for the party?”

“You know what? Fish actually sounds really good right now.”

“Geez, that’s loud! Turn the music down!”

“CRANK THE MUSIC UP! THIS IS MY JAM!”

“I don’t dance.”

“I have two left feet.”

“Turn off the lights, the party’s over.”

“Well with an attitude like that, yeah, you won’t dance. Come on, it’ll be fun!”

“Dad, hey dad!! Did you see what Fuji and I did?? I shot an arrow with an apple on it and Fuji caught it!! I’m really good right Dad? I’ll be as amazing as you some day right?” Cue a smol Prince hanging on his Father as he attempts to walk after patting the boy’s head and fluffing up his hair.

"Hey- Kiragi!" Shigure lobs the soft snowball at the younger prince with a giggle. It was so loosely packed and light it almost completely disappears in the air between them, just dusting his head and hair with the tiniest amount of white fluff. "Haha don't let your guard down, you never know... when someone might strike!"

“YOUR FACE IS GRASS AND I’M GONNA MOW IT!!!” He nearly shouts at the older boy, quickly gathering his arsenal of snowballs to lobe at Shigure.
