Lena takes one out and hands it to Lillian. She watches her curiously for a moment. She hadn’t fully expected her plan to work.

“Is that a yes then?” she asks her mother. “Are you agreeing to work with me and my terms? Because Im a busy woman and I don’t have much time to waste here with you.”

Lillian clicked the pen she received and began to circle parts of the letter without replying to her daughter. She was smart enough to know that this was Lillian’s way of helping and honestly, she wasn’t sure she should trust Lena’s documents but it was not worth risking her life. Lex may be her son but that meant he had her ambition and he would stop at nothing to see his plans through. That meant he could come for her and she would be prepared if he did.

It was a lot to process and Lillian did not like to be rushed when she was making decisions but sometimes, she had no other options, and this appears to be one of those time. Lillian shoves the file back towards her daughter and picks up the letter her son left. It felt odd to read her sons words after so long and part of her longed to see him again, maybe if he did come for her, he would realise that he needs his mother again and they could work together. This thought however was naive of herself and she would not allow herself to be pulled by her heart, not anymore.

“I did some digging. I own a company of journalists and reporters who are more than happy to do some investigating. I had a team of them look for things, led by Kara Danvers. You aren’t the only one in the family with money and connections. I suspected Lex would try something so I gathered evidence and now here we are.”

Lilian felt her eyes rolling at her own daughters naivety as she brings up the her litle friend with a secret. She is so tempted to spill this little secret but it would not hurt as much coming from her and so she holds onto it once more. Besides if these reports are in anyway true then she may need Lena after all. 

“and I am to belive that these are not fornicated in anyway?”

“I seem to recall you sending people to rough me up a little and then me ending up falling off of my balcony. Not to mention how I almost died because of a man that you helped to turn into a Kryptonite rocket launcher. You may not have had the intention of killing me, but you’re the cause of a good number of my near death experiences,” Lena says.

She knew that Lillian wouldn’t be willing to help without proof. Luckily, she thought ahead. She hands a file to Lillian.

“There’s all the proof you need, mother. I wouldn’t try to convince you to turn on Lex without a suitable reason for you to do so. He was planning to kill you and that file will prove it. I know you’re not fond of Supergirl and, to be frank, we aren’t in a good place right now as far as friendship goes. But I need you and she knows that.”

Lillian ignores Lena’s first comments because she seems to be holding onto a lot of rage for something Lillian would not blame herself for. Instead she takes the file given to her which takes her a few moments to process. She knows her son more than anyone else and even when looking at the evidence in front of her she is unwilling to believe what she sees. 

“Where did you get this?”

Lillian felt her insides turn at the mention of the Kryptonian girl that seems to have a lot of pull over her daughter. She could not believe that Lena was going to try and get her help by offering protection from one of the aliens she worked hard to exterminate from her planet. It was ridiculous enough to her that Lena is trying to turn her against her own son but to then insult her further with an offer of help by this alien, it’s almost as if she was just looking for a reason to be shut down. 

No this was not how this game worked and Lillian realised that Lena was not playing the game anymore and that would not do. “I would like to point out, dear daughter, that I have made no attempt at your life and in fact have saved it on many occasions but why would you remember that when you have your own little Kryptonian in your pocket. No, my life will never be trusted to one of those monstrosities that threatens to destroy all we have built here and you should know better than to try and pit me against my own son, now what do you really want from me girl!”
