Final Writing Track posts
The train is complete, all posts have been made, and that means all fics can now be enjoyed!
All fics have been added to their proper series. If you want to read the full train in order (which is recommended because all the works are AWESOME) head on over to their series on AO3!
Fluff Track
Angst Track
Extreme Track
Links and Descriptions of each fic in each track can be found below the read more!
Fluff Track
1. To Wonderland by Japo_Chan23
“This world could be a better place.”
“You did the best you could, Cook.” Twilight placed his hand on Wild’s hand, an attempt at comforting the man as they gazed at the field of the great plateau. A soft breeze brushed against all of their cheeks, eyes focused on the rubble that was spread amongst the land, landmarks that some of them once knew.
(For LU Creative Writing Train. Prompt: Hope)
2. Bedrest by attic_gremlin
Healing is tough. But, with eight brothers to keep him company, Hyrule thinks he can handle a few weeks in this cast.
Prompt: Recovery
3. The Roles We Play (The Roles We Find) by EstaJay
Or In Which injuries are hidden and Hyrule becomes a cranky healer (For the LU Creative Writing Train. Prompt: Recovery)
4. The Humor of Potion Shopping by TallyAce
It’s only after agreeing to help Twilight with errantry and subjecting himself to stumbling around an obnoxiously busy Castle Town that Hyrule realizes he is definitely NOT comfortable in crowds. He needs an escape, he needs something he can focus on to drown out the noises of the streets.
The healer turns to one of the few things he knows well, potions.
(Prompt: Healer A fic written for the LU Creative Writing Train.)
5. Solo Shopping in a Different Time Period- It’s Harder Than You Think by meme_lissa
When Sky and Legend are tasked with shopping duty for the day, things don’t go exactly as planned. Especially since Legend thought splitting up was a good idea. Sky didn’t think differences in written languages would complicate things quite this much.
(For the LU creative writing train. Prompt: Errand)
Angst Track
1. Dread by AutumnAlchemist
Hope It can be a beacon of light in the darkness, the only thing keeping one sane or it can be burst like a bubble and fizzle out into nothingness.
(Prompt: Hope)
2. The Cold Wind…It is Blowing… by SilverSage
A storm is brewing, and Wind could tell it was going to be a bad one. But, just how bad could it be?
(LU Creative Train: Angst Track Fic number 2) (Prompt: Dread)
3. Nature has Two Sides by Okami_no_fude
Twilight liked rainy weather from a young age. But not anymore. (For the Angst Route of the LU creative train)
(Prompt: Storm)
4. Ripples In the Waters of Time by MajesticGaZell
When regaining memories after suffering an episode of amnesia, it isn’t uncommon to forget the events that occurred while under the effects of said memory-loss. In fact, the years one experienced after a case of retrograde amnesia can be completely wiped clean as memories return, no matter how acclimated that person may be to their new life. Eight heroes bear witness to these facts first-hand. They watch him turn into the boy who bore the weight of the world on his shoulders. They watch as he reverts to the child they never knew. They watch as he remembers. And they watch as he forgets.
(Prompt: Submerged)
5. Dear Legend by Seeking7
Dear Legend, I’m sorry. I’m sorry for what I did. It was disrespectful. It was wrong. It was so so wrong. I didn’t know it was yours. I didn’t know what I was doing. And neither do you, I just realized. So I’ll just say the truth. A long time ago, I spat on your grave. XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX Hyrule writes Legend a letter, confessing a sin from his youth. He isn’t sure how to say it.
(Prompt: Stars)
6. Burns by sky_squido
Eight boys arrive in Arbiters Grounds.
(Prompt: Stars)
7. Encavmaphobia by Brook182
This is my piece for the LU creative train (#7) in the angst track. I thought the theme was ‘burned/buring’ 🙈 Enjoy!
8. To Be Like You by Dragon_of_Dreams
Sky should have been faster. He could have saved them. And he knows failure hurts. And sometimes he wonders how the captain handles such loss.
(Prompt: Vulnerability)
9. Bad Dreams Plague My Mind in The Forest by Ekho (FreelancerMissouri)
This is my entry to the 2020 LU Creative Train, Angst Track! Angst Fic 9
(Prompt: Failure)
10. Dream Walker by Blueskullcandy
As for why he’s walking… He isn’t sure. Legend isn’t even sure why he’s here. Hell, Legend isn’t even sure where here is. … And isn’t that a disconcerting thought? (LU Creative Train Angst Track piece 10)
(Prompt: Nightmares)
Extreme Track
1. I leapt by Linked_Aurica
(Prompt: Hope)
2. Memories by SilverDragonMS
“Do you ever wish that you could just be with them?” Four leaned back alongside him, contemplating his words as he stared up at the stars. “Sometimes I wish that I could take their place.” “It’s not a great thing to think about, but,” Legend sighed, slinging his other arm around the smaller hero, “I feel the same. I’d give anything to trade my life for hers.”
(Prompt: Memories)
3. A Small Secret by Tofutti
Legend hated his pink hair. He hated the reminder of how vulnerable he was, how vulnerable he could be. He didn’t know how to tell Warriors to stop teasing him, or how to tell Twilight to stop egging him on. All Legend knew was that Warriors could never find out how he got it, or he’d never hear the end of it.
Linked Universe Creative Train (Extreme Track) Prompt: Sacrifice
4. sunshine and moonlight fill my mind by Skiewrites
Wild? What about the wild? They were stuck inside the coffin, how was that in the wild? Link wished he was in the wild, the open wild where the sky could look down at her with her warm smile and the moon could glare at him while he cursed him every night to continue to live on despite its efforts to kill him.
LU Creative Train 2020: Extreme Fic 4. Prompt: Caves.

Meet the Creator
Introducing: Zesty!
Commissions: Nope, not at the moment
Social Media: Tumblr: @zesty-7412045
What’s your artistic process like?
I like to do the sketch on paper then transfer it to digital to do the rest. I’m still,, not that good at digital art though, so I’m usually just winging it lol
Tell us a little bit about yourself!
I like gaming, writing, and occasionally baking. I love nature- exploring the woods, birdwatching, taking pictures of weird mushrooms… I also like to watch speedruns and challenge runs of my favorite games in my spare time.
What kind of mediums do you like to use?
Traditional pencil and paper is where I feel most at home with, so it’s my favorite. But photography is also pretty fun, and I want to try getting into ceramics sometime.
What’s your favorite/least favorite subjects to use in your art?
Favorite? Animals of all kinds, especially birds! Least favorite? Backgrounds… also complex clothing designs.

Meet the Creator!
Introducing: genderfluid-puddle-of-soup!
Commission: Nah. Maybe one day.
Social Media: Tumblr: @genderfluid-puddle-of-soup Discord: genderfluid-puddle-of-soup#2166
What's your artistic process like?
I have so many ideas, all the time, but I work very slowly. So I keep a list of everything I want to draw. And I try to only start projects that I can finish in under a week, because otherwise I will get distracted by a new idea before I’m finished. I literally have a folder on my computer called “WIP Hell” where drawings go to die. But for the drawings that live, I usually go through, like, 3 sketch layers before I start doing the final image. And every drawing is a debate of if I really need line art or if I can just jump straight to coloring (which is my favorite part).
Tell us a little bit about yourself!
I love reading, running, and camping. I want to be an art professor, and I’m currently in college studying studio art and Spanish. I’m also autistic, so basically all my spare brain power goes to thinking about Legend of Zelda and Avatar: The Last Airbender.
What kind of mediums do you like to use?
I just took a printmaking class this past spring that I loved, and I’m interested in learning more about bookbinding. But right now, I’m really enjoying digital drawing. I have very little training in it, and the kind of coloring and aesthetic digital is capable of is very different than what I’m used to with traditional. I'm constantly forgetting and then re-remembering things that are unique to digital, like flipping the canvas or using the paint bucket tool.
What got you into art? what inspires you to keep creating art?
I had an amazing art teacher in middle school. She would let me come in during my free periods and draw in the back of the classroom, even during the parts of the year I didn’t have an art class. She really inspired me to improve as an artist and view artistic ability as a practiced skill instead of an unchanging talent.
What's your favorite/least favorite subjects to use in your art?
I love drawing Four. I think his design is really fun, and I enjoy doing my own take on it. I also love drawing hair. I’m not very good at recognizing people by their face so hair is really important to me for identifying them. And you can do so many things with hair! It can be pulled back or done up or cut into different styles. I hate drawing arms. They’re so awkward. I actually kind of like drawing hands though. So I need the arms.
What's the worst thing you had to draw?
I had to do a painting where I mashed together three separate images from popular media. I had made a really cool design by cutting up the images and weaving the strips together, but the professor for the class would change his expectations for the project every time we met. I had to fight him over every decision I wanted to make about my own painting. It was infuriating.
If you have any fun stories about the pieces you made, please do share!
I had been working on the cursed image redraw when the pink hair Legend update was posted. I was so excited that I wasn’t able to sleep all night. I finally fell asleep after I had both finished the drawing and done a sketch of Leg’s new hair.

Meet the Creator!

Introducing: Muney!
Commission: Nope, no commissions!
Social Media: -
What's your artistic process like?
I think it's pretty standard! I sketch it out first, then do the linework, color it all in, and finish by adding shading and any other effects. If I'm drawing something spur-of-the-moment I might either shine up a sketch until it looks good enough to color in or I'll just start with the linework. I usually do the latter when I'm trying to capture a certain facial expression because I don't trust myself to get it right in the sketch AND the lining.
Tell us a little bit about yourself!
My favorite color's pink, my favorite game is Splatoon 2, and my favorite bird call is the brown headed cowbird's! If I were an animal, I think I'd be an Eastern Black Swallowtail, mainly because of the caterpillar stage. It feeds on dill (my favorite herb), it sits around eating all day (my life dream), and it has an osmeterium (that's just cool)!
What kind of mediums do you like to use?
I like digital the best, since it's so versatile, but I also do my fair share of art with pencil and paper, acrylic, or watercolor!

What got you into art? what inspires you to keep creating art?
I've had pencil and paper available to me for as long as I can remember, and I always liked drawing whatever crazy things I thought up. I keep doing it now because it's still super satisfying to get my thoughts down into a tangible medium!
What's your favorite/least favorite subjects to use in your art?
My favorite thing to do is short comics, usually for laughs! My least favorite would have to be textures. Scales on a lizard, bark on a tree, strands of hair, I just... can't. It's so much minuscule detail - I always spend way too much time on it and it still doesn't look good.
Is there something that you struggled with that made you grow as an artist?
A select few times I have looked up a picture of some real life object and painted it in Photoshop. It takes forever and is a little bit boring, but, in the end, I'm really proud of having made an at least semi-photorealistic drawing!

Meet the Creator!

Introducing: Jay or EstaJay!
Commission: None as of yet but I'm planning on opening art commissions sometime in the future
Social Media: Tumblr: @ej-fanfics Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ej.estajay/ AO3: https://archiveofourown.org/users/EstaJay/works
What kind of mediums do you like to use?
My favourite mediums to work with are markers and watercolour
Is there a specific scene wrote that you are particularly proud of?
“Come here.” A simple command that left no question. He came forward, not the awkward shuffling of his childhood but a proper soldier’s march. She came out from behind the counter and he stood before her, eyes still glued to the back wall. “Au-...Madame Christmas I-” She wrapped him in a hug, smothering his words into her shoulder and rubbing the small of his back. Words were useless between them and but he flinched at the contact, not falling into the embrace like he once did. The wounds were still too raw and too deep. So she hugged the boy tighter. She could be mad at him. She could rage and scream and ban him permanently from The Bar. She would have every right to. But this was Lily’s boy, her boy, her Roy-boy. Her boy fell apart, breaking down into a mess sob. His breathing heaved and became jagged. Tears and snot streamed from his face and seeped into her coat. Her Roy wasn’t a crier, not even as a baby, but even the strongest man had his moments of weakness. She smoothed out his hiccups with gentle pats to the back while letting her own tears fall. They let their pieces fall but it was okay. It was okay. (An oldie from About a Boy (HP/FMA xover) but it really helped me find my footing as a writer

is there something that you struggled with that made you grow as a creator?
Reminding myself that writing isn't a competition. I've gone through periods where I feel like I don't measure up to other writers or that my stats don't compare as well. It's still something I struggle with but learning to not let that bog me down let's me have more fun (funny thing is, that never happens for art so I tend to swap to that to cool down)
What's your favorite type of scene to write?
Two characters talking - there's just something so satisfying about people opening up. A lot for my fics exist because there's a single conversation in mind that I spend the whole story building up to.
What's the hardest for you to create?
Beginnings - I write in order most the time and I feel like the start of the fic is generally the weakest. Most of the time, I need to add a new scene to serve as a better opening can get frustrating at time.

What's your favorite genre to write?
I guess I'm a hurt/comfort writer - I love writing fluffy scenes but they need to be earned with pain
What fandoms do you enjoy creating for?
Linked Universe has captured my heart but I'm also a giant Yu-Gi-Oh fan, Arc V especially, and I've dipped in and out of Fullmetal Alchemist
What's the work you are most proud of?
I love 'The Only Thing You Want' (https://archiveofourown.org/works/23300497) and 'Horseradish Before Hibiscus' (https://archiveofourown.org/works/23117269) equally (but please heed the warnings on both of them) but I've invested so much into 'Love is Not a Potato' (https://archiveofourown.org/works/23712469) not to be proud of it
Where do you post your finished works?
https://archiveofourown.org/users/EstaJay/

Meet the Creator!

Introducing: Cromulent Crab!
Commissions: I don't think I will be for quite some time ^^ I still have much to learn in the ways of valuable art
Social Medias: No thank you
What's your artistic process like?
I'm a great deal into both traditional and digital art, but I've found that in both cases using the loomis method for people and/or power lines for animals has really started to boost the quality of my art. My inspiration seems to usually stem from music (Perhaps due to my synesthesia), and blooms into a story based on the words and feel of the piece. It took a few weeks of me listening to the song I chose for my Zine to finally get a clear vision of what I wanted.
Tell us a little bit about yourself!
Greetings! I'm a closeted Non-Binary person who prefers to go by the name Marzen on the internet though the nickname Marz I also seem attached to. I've been absolutely engrossed by LoZ games and everything else they have to offer since I first played Botw in 2018. How real and fleshed out the world feels really brought me to what you could call a release from responsibilities. And, since I have diagnosed ADHD, botw just so happens to be the only puzzle-focused game I've ever 100%ed! Sorry Skyward Sword. I love the colour gold, not like jewellery or riches, no, like a bright gold against a black background. Red through green are colours I am also delighted to see. I'm a dog person with an infinity for reptiles and birds. And Bugs! Maybe crustaceans as well... and arachnids. Well, you get it! I'm a sucker for angst, love the Hunger Games books, laughs at everything, allergic to just about everything as well, middle school student who's thinking of joining the Canadian Military just to make enough money to pay for school- I would give anything for a scholarship to RingLing college of Art and Design! I want to work on video game rigs when I come of age!
What kind of mediums do you like to use?
If I had any money at all I would use it for cosplay and/or and apple pencil, I was able to scrape together enough last year for a Wild costume to be made but I have greater aspirations for when I'm old enough to get a job ^^ For now, I've been spending my time memorizing Richard Williams "The Animator's Survival Kit" so I can get a head start in animating. Just wait until I get an apple pencil! I'll be animating 24/7 now that I'm out of dance!
What got you into art? what inspires you to keep creating art?
Art for me is the ability to create ANYTHING! There's no limit with a pencil and paper. I mean, the LU wouldn't exist without it! There's so much power to be harnessed in being able to draw anything. You can tell stories, make gifts, brighten people's days and bring life to worlds that couldn't exist otherwise. It took me all 15 years of my life to figure out how much art can mean to people. It's so much harder than it looks, and yet, when you finally get it right, a lot can come from that!
What's your favorite/least favorite subjects to use in your art?
I love drawing cats. That's it. They came easily to me! In fact, learning the ways cats move was the key to me figuring out how to use power lines! I'm not great at fan art, I've fallen victim to the whole 'The sketch looks better than the final piece' thing which is sincerely frustrating sometimes. Really, creating completely randomized OCs help teach me how to draw much more than trying to paint Legends hair from 11 different angles.
What's the worst thing you had to draw?
I tried to draw curly hair once... never again. That's what I need to work on the most.
Is there something that you struggled with that made you grow as an artist?
Currently, I've been working on attaching legs to human figures a little more seamlessly. My big breakthrough came with finding the inspiration to learn from others. I've never had 1on1 help when it comes to art, but watching YouTube videos have provided me with an archive of vital information. Learning the way torsos worked in general on a person was a big turning point. That's when my art went from 2d, staring directly at the audience doing nothing, to being able to picture how I want the character to move in my mind and translating that with fancy angles and weight distribution accounted for. That either came from me watching other people create art or I just unlocked that part of my brain during puberty. I will admit though, I can draw the shape of a head really well but I struggled to capture the right emotions.
If you have any fun stories about the pieces you made, please do share!
I did an art swap with a friend a few months ago, while I gave her Warriors to draw, she gave me a furry and two weeks to complete an "exciting" scene. Now, I have nothing against this type of art, however, I had absolutely no clue how to draw non-humanoid characters in that format. I forked over ALL of my free time to learning how to draw fluffy people and it honestly drained my soul. The piece didn't even turn out good.

Meet the Creator!

Introducing: Wilimia!
Commission: Nope! Not confident enough to do that heh
Social Medias: Tumblr: @wilimia Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/wilimia.art/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/WilimiaA
What's your artistic process like?
I start with a very vague sketch and figure it all out when I do line art (which I don't recomend). Then I just slam some color on there. It's kinda hard for me to explain, it all just kind of happens.
Tell us a little bit about yourself!
Yo! I don't have a nickname but I like to draw (suprise), play volleyball (I used to play setter but then I got injured (first set of the first game in a tournament) and I don't really do much else honestly.
What kind of mediums do you like to use?
Thanks to school I've had the chanse to test out a lot of mediums but my favorite are definently digital, pencil and oil painting! :)
What got you into art? what inspires you to keep creating art?
I've been drawing my whole life and just never stopped. I watched a ton of cartoons as a kid. Power puff girls, teen titans, my little pony. I made a lot of shitty fan art. Then when I was like 14 I found anime. Sailor moon, noragami, soul eater, haikyuu and more. I suppose that inspired me :/ I've never really put much thought into my inspiration outside of other art/artist I encounter.
What's your favorite/least favorite subjects to use in your art?
Favotite? People! Portaits and/or character drawings. Least favorite? Backgrounds, interiors. That's probably pretty obvious if you saw my feed
What's the worst thing you had to draw?
Had an assignment to do perspective studies. I did it the night before and it looked very bad
Is there something that you struggled with that made you grow as an artist?
I've been struggling with not being happy with where I'm at with my art. It's a normal thing to go through I think but it sucks in the moment. But I am working hard to change that!
If you have any fun stories about the pieces you made, please do share!
I made this a while ago and umm...there's some exiting things going on (IYKYK)

Hi, a quick writing question here (if it's allowed,) what does "Name!Thing" mean in fanfiction? (Example: Mute!Link)
Hey!! sorry for the late reply. It’s a way of labeling fic contents, searching mute!ink will show fics where link is mute.
(i had to ask blue for this, if anyone else has a more detailed explanation please feel free to send/comment!)

Meet the Creator!
Introducing: Waffles!
Commissions: Not right now, but if people express interest, I will consider it!
Social Media: Tumblr: @mmmwafflesart Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/mmmwafflesart/
What's your artistic process like?
I spend the most time on linework. I typically start with a sketch and figure out the details during the line art phase. From there I add the base colors then go ham with the shadow and lighting! I make use of multiply and light layers a lot.
Tell us a little bit about yourself!
Drawing is my hobby, and I like shitposts, music, and gaming :P
What kind of mediums do you like to use?
I used to do traditional art but nowadays it's mostly digital since that's what I have time and patience for. I also like to take photos of scenery and places I travel to, though that's been put on hold as of now.
What got you into art? what inspires you to keep creating art?
I've always loved drawing, but somewhere along the line lost motivation and stopped. I had been meaning to try out digital art and got a tablet, but it sat in dust until I got into Linked Universe. I met a lot of people who were really supportive and that was enough to get me drawing again! Now that I'm drawing again, I get inspired by surrounding myself with art at skill levels that I aspire to reach. It makes me want to continue learning and improving. Other than that, seeing people respond positively to my art, both serious and not, motivates me to continue sharing it.
What's your favorite/least favorite subjects to use in your art?
I love drawing facial expressions, and I need to work on drawing backgrounds
What's the worst thing you had to draw?
uhh I drew the Linked Universe Links in the CDi style once, that was...something
Is there something that you struggled with that made you grow as an artist?
Just learning to draw digitally. I've been trying to figure it out this whole time, and I'm still figuring out a lot of things!
If you have any fun stories about the pieces you made, please do share!
The drawing with the nose sword is a perfect example of how ridiculous my art can get. I'm surrounded by enablers and it's only made me more powerful.

Introducing: Plants!
Commissions: no
Social Media: Tumblr: @legend-of-zelda-scribbles
Tell us a little bit about yourself!
Nickname: Plants Hobbies: Gardening, Violin, Reading, Drawing, Fiber arts Likes: Nature, Plants,
What got you into creating? what inspires you to keep creating?
Arts and crafts at home when young, than the redwall book series, then other fandoms, a lot of my friends do a lot of art as well. I also just have a need to create or do something. I can't do nothing, it drives me crazy.
What's your creative process like?
get inspired/want to do something, rough it out sketch or other, fix the sketch until it's basically line art, colour, shade, adjust, copy into new file to save as a flat image, draw on top, decide doing anything more will ruin the picture, flatten the image, save, post.
What kind of mediums do you like to use?
Paper sketch then digital on photoshop, Fiber art ranges from needle felting, corking, knitting, sewing, etc. Usually have an idea in mind and try to make it in a day or less cause I can never pick projects back up again easily
Is there a specific scene wrote that you are particularly proud of?
I don't really do much writting, but I'm always happy when I can draw something more than a character just standing doing nothing
Is there someone who inspires you and your writing or art?
a lot of the other artist I follow, music I listen too, what I've watched or read.
is there something that you struggled with that made you grow as a creator?
The constant struggle of wanting to draw realistically and wanting to have a more cartoony drawing style will forever influence my art. I also struggle to continue something I've put down with intent to finish later, this has lead me to completing pieces in a day or less
What got you into writing or art?
Arts and crafts at home when young, than the redwall book series, then other fandoms, a lot of my friends do a lot of art as well. I also just have a need to create or do something. I can't do nothing, it drives me crazy.
What's your favorite part of the creative process?
The ideas! Building on the idea, doing the rough work, and anticipating the finish/the finish.
What's your least favorite part of the creative process?
all the stuff between the idea, rough sketch/work and finishing. Or being indecisive about something which usually gets the idea scrapped
What fandoms do you enjoy creating for?
Danny Phantom, Redwall, Legend of Zelda, other smaller fandoms too....
What's the work you are most proud of?
mmm One of my doodles of hyrule where I was trying to figure out how I wanted to draw him. [link]

Meet the Creator!
Introducing: Vio!
Commissions: Not at the moment, but I’m thinking of doing them in the future!
Social Media: Tumblr: @violett-shadow Twitter: https://twitter.com/vio_draws
What's your artistic process like?
I am still getting used to digital art, so I usually start sketching ideas in a notebook. Then, I select the sketch I liked more and draw it digitally. My biggest problem it’s the lineart, I tend to re-do it again and again until it looks good! Otherwise, I love coloring and I hope to get better at it in the future!
Tell us a little bit about yourself!
Call me Vio! I love to read and often spend my free time reading either fanfics or books. I like to watch anime and play videogames, too. Fantasy and knights stories are my weakness, so it’s no wonder I ended up falling in love with The Legend of Zelda games.
What got you into art? what inspires you to keep creating art?
I am actually studying Fine Arts. I’ve always liked to draw and encouragement from friends and teachers got me to consider it as a career option. I’m really thankful to them.
Is there something that you struggled with that made you grow as an artist?
Anatomy classes were awful!! I don’t think I have worked harder in a subject than this. However, even though I suffered, I learned a lot and I try to incorporate that knowledge to my drawings.
