Hello! May I ask who the character Chihoko is? She seems canon and appears in many fic but I don't recall the name was mentioned in the anime (but maybe it's just my mistake)? Thank you <3

hello anon! The Chihoko Incident, as i like to call it, is a thing from the live reading the voice actors did during yuri!!! on stage! here’s a video of that part of the event, subbed by the amazing @thatshamelessyaoishipper​:

and here’s my summary of The Incident if you don’t have the time to watch the video (which you really should, it’s hilarious ahaha)

(basically it’s just…… everyone is drunk, vitya hears yuuri wrong and is left with the impression that “chihoko” is yuuri’s ex or someone he’s more impressed with than he is with vitya, so vitya gets jealous but everything turns out well in the end. poor yuuri never finds out who the hell this chihoko vitya keeps mentioning is tho ahaha since he actually said “shachihoko” which is…….. this lmao)
