"is your girlfriend single?" ☆ enha hyungs

☆ youtuber! non-idol! bf! enhypen hyung line x fem! reader ☆ summary: when your youtuber boyfriend finally shows you for the first time to his audience. ☆ genre: fluff, jealous and whipped boys... kinda dumb lol ☆ warning(s)? no! just fluff!! and attempts at humor :( ☆ reblogs and comments are appreciated :D also not proofread lol
heeseung ☆
i like to think that hee would be a gaming youtuber
posts maybe like once or twice a week, has about 3 million subs
he sometimes likes to stream, just to get to know his fanbase better and to just hang out
normally he texts you to let you know abt it, but today he totally forgot
you came home from work and you saw his office door closed + heard the sound of his loud ass keyboard clicking.... my guy beats that shit UP atp
that was normal tbh
you were probably like "my little keyboard warrior ❤️" and went to go wash up in your shared bathroom and bedroom
you were going to just pop into his office, say hi and maybe give him a kiss
meanwhile... heeseung is taking a break from gaming, just talking to the chat
he definitely didn't notice you coming home... probably bc of that bigass head set that's creating a fucking valley in his skull... (btw have u seen those videos where gamers take off their headphones and they have a dent on their head 😭)
anyways you open the door, ready to say hi, but heeseung is visibly surprised, looking like a deer in headlights
you look at him, then at the back of his monitor, then back at him, then at his monitor
"should i come back another time...?"
hee's already taking off his headphones, leaning back into his gaming chair--
"no no no!" he grins, glancing at the chat, which is now blowing up
"who is that?"
"yooooo"
"HEESEUNG IS THAT YOUR GIRLFRIEND?"
"gf reveal?"
"she sounds so pretty"
heeseung pats his lap, "cmere, baby, i wanna introduce you to the stream"
of course you comply <3
you take a seat on his lap, his arms slithering around your waist
it takes you a moment to take in what's on his screen: obv there's your reflections, then the chat boxes and announcement pop-ups
the way that the blue-purple light of his screen reflects onto your skin, casting a glassy gleam over your eyes-- and the way that your pretty eyes look at the monitor so curiously, lips parted ever-so-slightly-- made you look SO beautiful
heeseung himself has to angle his head in a way so that he could see your face properly.... and a soft grin unknowingly began to spread over his lips
he presses a soft kiss to the crook behind your ear, before looking back up at the stream
"hey guys," there's a clear smile in his voice, "this is my girlfriend, [name]."
you take that as your queue to introduce yourself
honestly, you're a little shy and softer-spoken now, bc you're not in front of a camera nearly as often as your boyfriend is, "hi.. i'm [name], and... uhm..." you give the webcam a clumsy, awkward (but very cute) smile, "i'm hee's girlfriend"
the chat blows up immediately
"SHE'S SO CUTE"
"i've never seen heeseung look so soft"
"[name] you're so pretty :)"
"this might actually be one of the most beautiful women i've ever seen im not joking guys"
"chat is she real... bc why is she actually GLOWING oh my lord🧎🧎🧎"
those comments make you a lil shy and bashful, and you feel your cheeks kinda warm
you just giggle reading them, unable to contain your smile
heeseung, on the other hand, is feeling prideful
"that's right, guys," he squeezes your waist, puffing his chest out, "my girlfriend is so beautiful" "i know i'm so lucky to have such a wonderful woman as my girlfriend"
he's overjoyed by all the compliments you're getting... it makes him so happy that he can show you off and that everyone gets to see that YOURE his gf
in fact, he's reading a lot of them aloud, and following it up with "i agree with you"
like he'll read "'[name] is absolutely stunning, like wow..." and heeseung nods and is like "i agree with you, xXdragontittysucker23Xx 🤓☝️"
but then a comment stops him in his tracks...
"heeseung is your girlfriend single by any chance?"
his face drops immediately
"hey... who in the chat asked if [name] is single?!"
he's actually offended, putting a dramatic hand on his chest and scoffing
"how rude!" heeseung pouts against your shoulder when even more of his viewers begin saying similar things
"[name] are you free this weekend"
"hi [name] (i'm 6'2 and drive a lamborghini and save orphans every weekend)"
"heeseung get out i'm trying to have a moment with your girlfriend"
you're actually such a cutie, becuase you're just giggling as more and more comments come trying to rizz you up
"what do you have to say for yourself?" heeseung asks you half-sulkily and half-defensive, pushing his face into your neck and pouting
your eyes glimmer with a little mischief, wanting to tease your boyfriend a little bit
"i mean... " you pretend to think
and then someone named jungkooksleftpinkytoe562 says in chat "please [name] i'll rock your world so hard just one chance"
you laugh
"jungkooksleftpinkytoe562, i'm free tomorrow at 5, you should take me out on a date" and you wink playfully and laugh again
chat blows up like
"WOAHHHH"
"AYOOO????"
but if there's anyone that's scandalized, it's heeseung lee himself
"HEY! HEY! WHAT?!!?!" he's squinting and scrolling so fast in the chat to find jungkooksleftpinkytoe562 that you can hear the scroll-wheel oh my god
"you guys better back off," heeseung says, pulling you even closer. he presses a kiss against your shoulder, then gently clutching your face to kiss your chin, "she's mine!"
heeseung's eyes narrow, "especially you, jungkooksleftpinkytoe562..." your bf gives you a quick peck on the lips, "i'll kick your ass if i see you flirting w my girlfriend again >:("
im gonna be fr... none of his viewers care
in fact they keep flirting with you
and the fact that you keep playfully flirting back adds fuel to heeseung's flames
but he'd never blame you <3
he's pouty after the stream lol (but he knows it's all in good fun) so kiss his cute lil pouty lips
i think this definitely goes viral on twitter
like #[name] or #heesgf trends for a good 48 hours
jay ☆
my guy is a cooking channel
i think jay would try to be more private abt his personal life to his viewers, just given the nature of his content
though, it's no secret that jay has a s/o to his viewers, and i think they'd know your name
but yk how at the end of cooking videos, after the chef cooks, they try the food...
i think in a few of his videos, there's clips of you and him trying his food, but while jay is usually in-frame, you're either behind the camera or just barely in the frame so that most people have really only heard your voice and seen your hands
the comments are usually tame, like
"[name]'s voice is so pretty!"
"i want someone to look at me the way jay looks at [name]"
"my parents!"
but one day
for one of his subscriber milestone specials
let's say 2million subscriber special
jay does a cooking challenge
it's "cooking a meal but BLINDFOLDED"
he starts the video explaining the parameters of the challenge and what he's doing, etc
but then he reveals that you're behind the camera to supervise him
obv bc he's in a kitchen with ovens and knives and he's blindfolded...
throughout the video, you kind of just guide your bf
"omg jay move your hand or you'll cut your fingers off!"
"turn on the stove-- no the other way!!"
at some point, jay is cutting up onions
and normally he's a pro at it, and you never question his abilities
but because he can't see and he's using the knife so quickly, you're freaked out like "babe!!!!!! that doesn't seem safe!!! 😰😰😰"
so then behind the camera, you're heard fussing about it and it's cute lol
then you take it upon yourself to help him
you go behind him, slithering your arms around him so that your hands were places on his
you guide his hands to cut the onions slowly
"babe, i got this," jay says, but tbh he's not complaining because he gets to be close to you :D
"nonono i don't want you to die!!" you say, and it seems like you're more concentrated on cutting the onions than him
this is the first time that your face is in-frame for one of his videos lol
when you're done, jay tries to kiss your head, but he can't find you so you raise yourself on your tippy toes for him
its a quick peck but you giggle and place a kiss behind his ear
when he's done cooking his little dish, it's time to garnish and decorate it with sauce
jay's plan is to use the sauce to write "happy 2 million subscribers" on the dish
but because he's blindfolded, the writing is so fucked up
it's completely unintelligable and just a glob of sauce 😭
and then he tries to draw a dick on it but it's also super fucked 😭😭😭😭
when you see this, you burst out laughing so hard
and this makes jay laugh too
anyways the video goes up, it's very cute and well-received
now.... the youtube comments are still tame
"[name]'s laugh is so cute!"
"i screamed when she popped into frame... she's gorg"
"the way that [name] looks at jay when he's blindfolded is everything"
"[name] looks so beautiful"
but uh
it gets crazy on twitter
as it always does
"jesus fucking christ if a woman like that wrapped her arms around me and kissed me i would fall to my knees and die happily"
"jay CANNOT handle allat.... but i can!!!! me next!!"
"god... when is it my turn to have a pretty woman kiss me"
"[name] i'll treat you so well PLEASE"
i think the clip of you helping jay cut the onions kinda goes viral, just because you look so attractive doing it
like the way you popped into frame as you rolled up your sleeves and the way you smirked at jay's inability to see... ZOOWEE MAMA!!!!!
and i think this eventually makes its way onto tiktok
like pretty standard videos of ppl being like "JAY'S GIRLFRIEND HELLO???" with comments like "she's so beautiful," etc
jay honestly thinks its funny
he knows that people are joking and he sometimes actually plays along with them
he loves that people are appreciating your beauty (but he loves even more that he's the only one that actually gets you)
when you first go viral, you're kinda shy about it, but jay just pulls you close, kisses your cheek, squishing them, and says "my baby is so beautiful"
youre like "jayyyyyy stoopppp"
he only chuckles and starts to pepper your face with more kisses, despite your lil whines for him to stop
but then while you two are cuddling one night, you laying on his chest with your face in his neck
a tiktok appears on his fyp
its just some teenager being like "hi does anyone know if jay's girlfriend is single?" while showing off a black BMW in the background... and then jay's directly tagged in it
he takes this as his opportunity to strike back
he stitches that tiktok, and makes his own tiktok in response
it's just a really short video where jay shows you all snuggled up against him completely silent before he just says "No, she is not single. 😐."
the caption's like "i'm taking [name] out on a date tomorrow shhh don't tell her"
everyone thinks it's really sweet tbh
jake ☆
truthfully i think jake would be into youtube commentary
something like danny gonzalez or jarvis johnson
he looks at troom troom videos and makes fun of them lowk 😭
speaking of, troom troom or troom troom - adjacent content usually has crazy ass lifehacks
so for one of his videos jake is testing out troom troom life hacks
and for one of them, he has to drill a hole in a skateboard or something and put pasta noodles in it idk i'm pulling this out of my ass but its not surprising if this is a legitimate troom troom life hack
unlike heeseung and jay, jake's viewerbase doesn't rlly know about you
again, given the nature of his content, jake never rlly found it necessary to mention his personal relationships
anyways jake is in the middle of your living room floor drilling a hole into a skateboard and putting spaghettie in it when you come home from work and see that shit
jake is in the middle of talking to the camera but the moment the door cracks open he trails off
he gives you that smile-- the one that a puppy gives when their owner catches them doing something they shouldnt aw
when you take in the sight before you, you let out a laugh, not noticing the camera rolling
you place your things down and slink toward your boyfriend
"what's going on here, jakey?" you ask him with a cocked brow, loving the way he chuckles nervously
you crouch down beside him, poking the skateboard-spaghetti abomination with your foot
"i'm testing out troom troom life hacks" he sounds defeated lol
anyways you give him a kiss on his cheek and leave him to his own devices
in the final video, your little interruption is only like 15 seconds bc jake cut it down-- but he def keeps the part where you kiss him
HOWEVER.
because jake's audience didn't know he had a girlfriend
they were all like WOAH WHO IS THAT GORGEOUS WOMAN
a few of his fans look at who he's following on instagram, and they find your account
your ig is public, but it's definitely small and personal
they find pictures of you and jake doing cute couple things, a lot of mirror selfies, matching costumes, and cute pictures that you take of jake
but...
they also find your own personal pictures
ones of you in a bikini at the beach, ones of you with the golden sun on your face, ones showing off your outfit and hair, ones of you in the morning, ones of you being a baddie
and lets not mention jake in the ig comment sections hyping you up like a teenage boy like "YOURE SO HOT [NAME] 🔥🔥🔥🔥"
jake and you see all the comments and tweets about you
so jake decides to take it upon himself to clarify everything
he posts a picture on instagram of you and him with the caption "yes, that's my girlfriend"
safe to say that it becomes his top post LMAOAAO
his ig comments are flooded with support
"you guys are so cute"
"i'm glad to see jake have someone that he loves"
etc
YOUR ig comment section on the other hand?
flooded with support
and thirst
HELP
his fans are respectful but they REALLY love to compliment you
"woahhh you look so good in this one!"
"gorgeous 😍"
"[name] will you marry me?"
but i do think a few are outright insane omg
"[name] you're my sunshine in the ran, the tylenol when i'm in pain, when it's burning hot on summer days you're exactly what i need"
i think they pull out poetic shit omg
like shit like
"the memory of you is a tapestry I had decided to wrap myself in until it suffocated me, to such extent that in the morning, people will not find my body, but a new silhouette woven within its threads"
"there is a city in my heart where you are its only population"
"if i could remake universe, i would replace you as the moon amongst the stars after your time, so i may gaze upon you every night"
jake is NEVER escaping
you appreciate the hype
but jakey?
he loves that you're being appreciate but YOU'RE HIS
WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE AND WHY DO THEY THINK THEY HAVE A CHANCE W U
"jakey they're just being nice"
"no they're trying to STEAL YOU"
like a day later he posts a picture of you on his instagram with the caption "she's mine btw"
his comments DO NOT CARE 😭😭😭
when someone comments
"jake is your gf single and can i take her out on a date"
jake straight up responds
"NO."
what a cutie
sunghoon ☆
i actually don't think sunghoon would be a YOUTUBER youtuber
instead i think he'd be a famous ice skater, but he has YOUTUBE interviews and is active on social media
definitely the type of athlete that's very personable
like sunghoon is def in touch with his fanbase and interacts with them on twt and stuff
his fanbase knows that he has a gf, but that's basically the limit
anyways sunghoon is doing one of those "WIRED answered the web's most searched questions"
you're actually in the studio with him during the interview, kinda there for support
the questions are tame like
"sunghoon park height" "sunghoon park winter olympics 2018" "where was sunghoon park born" etc
sunghoon's killing it
until one of the last questions on the board is "does sunghoon park have a girlfriend?"
he immediately lights up
"i do have a girlfriend!" he says, looking off-set at you, "her name's [name] and she's the most beautiful woman i've ever met"
you chuckle quietly at his comment, flashing him a pretty smile
sunghoon continues- "she's actually here with me today" and he points to you, making the cameraman pan over to you, who is sitting off the set
you just give the camera a thumbs up
you thought that would be the end, but sunghoon asks, "baby, do you want to do this interview with me?"
ofc you agree
he makes u sit on his lap lol even when the camera crew is bringing another chair for you
instead of answer more questions sunghoon just talks about your relationship the entire time
he's giving an entire history lecture about your relationship
you don't say much, but you listen to him intently
when this interview goes up
a lot of his fans make edits of it
sunghoon is already known as a quiet typa guy, but when he talks for like 2 minutes straight about your relationship everyones like "oh god this guy really likes his girlfriend 😭"
in fact
the official interview cuts down sunghoon's tangent about you to 2 minutes, when the original clip was actually 10 minutes
i like to believe that WIRED released an uncut version of his tangent 😭
his fans make short edit videos like "sunghoon being whipped for [name]" or "sunghoon really likes his gf"
i think his fans also make edits of YOU
even though you're honestly in a very short clip of his interview
the way you look at him and listen so intently is SO GOOD
like you were definitely giving him 'the look' as he talked abt your relationship yk?
that once-over, maybe a little lip bite, MMMMM SO GOOD
now....
ik i said that heeseung was the keyboard warrior but like... i think sunghoon is the real one
he's out here fighting BATTLES with his keyboard oml
when stan twitter sees this.... sunghoon starts to fight them
there's tweets like
"the more i listen to sunghoon talk about his gf i more i feel like i'm falling for her"
"the woman that you are, [name]..."
"when she looks at the camera i feel shy"
"omg SHE WANTS ME"
sunghoon gets petty OH MY GOD
he responds to all the tweets about you
like
"she does not want you 😐." "you have no chance with her. 😐." "too bad she's mine 😇"
it's def in a playful joking way and it's really funny, but sunghoon is out here defending your honor
i think at some point sunghoon stops responding with words and just begins responding with pictures
someone tweets "sunghoon is your gf single"
and he straight up just responds with a picture of him staring blankly at the camera
LIKE HE'S DRILLING HOLES THROUGH THE CAMERA WITH HIS EYES
an absolute cutie if i do say so myself
on valentines day he posts a picture of him holding your hand to be extra petty lol

indebted to you - psh 🎐
; PAIRING - sunghoon x gn!reader
; SYNOPSIS - every house at hogwarts has a student that doesn’t fit in. ravenclaw, known for intelligence and wit, had park sunghoon, who was neither. everyone’s always wondered how he ended up in the house, but when you follow him into the whomping willow one night during your patrols, you might just find out why.
; TAGS - one shot, hogwarts au, fluff, angst, healing each other, ravenclaw!sunghoon, ravenclaw!reader, book smart!r, street smart!sh, oblivious reader ; WARNINGS - reader gets injured and hurt pretty badly, not proofread and literally no planning whatsoever i winged this entire fic, just me and the voices
; WC - 5.1k
; AUTHOR'S CORNER! - this was requested! the req was pretty vague so i had a lot of freedom and it ended up longer than i planned LOL
every house has an odd one out.
a gryffindor that’s too scared and cowardly; a slytherin that gives up easily; a hufflepuff that would sell out anyone in a heartbeat.
in ravenclaw, you had park sunghoon.
he was everything ravenclaw was not. wit? nope, he was pretty slow. intelligence? honestly, he had about as much knowledge as a first year muggleborn (and he’s lived in the wizarding world his whole life). good grades? god, you don’t know how he managed to make it to 5th year when he was barely scraping by with As (acceptables) in his tests. even being best friends with arguably one of the smartest ravenclaws in your year, jake sim, he still fell short of others.
of course, that undoubtedly led to him being cast out, often sneered at and made fun of by others. how could he be a ravenclaw if he was so stupid?
you didn’t agree with them when they’d call him names, and took the mickey out of the poor boy. there‘s a particular memory you have - in which he entered the common room all battered up and bruised, with jake at his side.
you’d been horrified to see him in such a state, and hurried to help him by healing his wounds. jake had thanked you profusely, but sunghoon had fallen fast asleep on the couch.
you scoffed at the other five students in the room that just stared either in shock or amusement. ravenclaws were never really known for their empathy.
that’s why you weren’t surprised when your patrol partner derided him when you two spotted the oddity slipping out of the castle.
“can’t even hide himself,” he scoffed. “is there anything good he can do?”
“i’m sure there is,” you frown at the other prefect. “there’s got to be a reason the sorting hat put him with us.”
“maybe the sorting hat made a mistake.”
“the hat never makes mistakes.”
“park is a sure evidence that it does. maybe the old thing’s getting rusty in its game.”
you rolled your eyes and walked ahead, dismissing the guy and telling him you’d do the rest of the rounds on your own.
peering out a window, you watched sunghoon casually walk down the steps, towards the whomping willow, you realised. you left the castle and followed him down too, to warn him against visiting the violent tree.
when you got closer, you paused when sunghoon backed away as the tree came to life, and its branches started whipping in his direction. he reached into the book bag slung over his shoulder.
you hid behind a tree and watched curiously as he pulled out a little toy mouse and what looked to be a controller. where did he get that? sunghoon switched it on and placed it on the ground, before using his joystick controller to move the mouse around.
the mouse rolled on its wheels, and escaped the branches, rolling under them and to the base of the trunk. you gasp when the willow’s branches stop lashing out and wonder how he did that.
sunghoon turns sharply when he hears you, and looks around, his stare lingering on the spot you had just been standing in. he reluctantly continues into the gaping entrance at the roots of the tree.
you stay in your spot for a moment longer, wondering if it was really smart of you to follow sunghoon into the tree, infamous for its violent tendencies to destroy anything within its range.
but it’s your duty as a prefect to make sure sunghoon is safe, especially having caught him on his escapade during one of your own patrols. if you left him there and he was found dead or injured in the morning, you would be at fault.
gathering your resolve, you decide to push forward.
nearing the tree, it comes back to life and starts to try attacking you. you have to run back and sit for a moment, wondering how to get through the branches. it’s not like you had your own little mouse and joystick - and besides, if you did, you wouldn’t even know what to do with it. you had no idea exactly what sunghoon did with his tools to calm down the tree.
you curse yourself for not finding out a way to calm down whomping willow trees, but can you really blame yourself? that stuff was NEWT level, only taught in sixth year. you were only in fifth.
you decide to suck it up and watch as the tree swishes around and around, waiting for the branches to leave an opening to the entrance.
when the opportunity comes, you quickly spring into action and sprint towards the open space, praying the tree doesn’t sense you in time.
that was a silly hope. of course it detected you, hell - it might have even purposely left the space open just so you’d come nearer. either way, it swung its arms at you and pushed you to the side causing you to fall and roll on your side. pain shot through your side, so much so you were pretty sure you broke a rib or two. you never knew how strong the tree was.
laying on the ground and waiting the pain out would have been preferable, if there wasn’t a tree trying to whack you to death. so despite the throbbing pain, you forced yourself to get roll onto your stomach (god, maybe you broke three ribs) and got onto your knees.
you scrambled on the ground and ducked your head when another branch came flying by, and crawled (or at least, something like it) towards the hole sunghoon entered through.
as you lowered into the entrance, another branch struck at you, slashing through your uniform and into the skin of your back. a shriek ripped through your throat, and you slipped on the loose gravel of the entrance, sliding down into the tree.
“what are you doing here?”
you cracked an eye open painfully and stared up at sunghoon from where you were sitting on the ground, scrapped, injured, and grumpy.
“oh, nothing. just thought i’d get my ass whooped by my lovely friend, the whomping willow. nothing special, just your average sunday night, you know?”
he huffed amusedly and pulled you up by the wrist. you hissed at the pain, which had him faltering.
“are you okay? sorry, that’s a stupid question.”
“i’m perfectly dandy!”
“here, can you move onto the chair?” he asked, pulling a wooden and splintered chair closer to you. you stood up and sat on it, albeit wincing at every movement.
you pulled out your wand and pointed it at yourself, cleaning your body of all the dirt and grime. sunghoon stared at you contemplatively, concerned lacing his features as he tried to figure out what to do.
“not to disturb you from appreciating my face or anything, i know i’m drop dead gorgeous and all. however, i would really appreciate it if i got some help over here.”
sunghoon flushed red and rushed to your side, kneeling as he pointed his own wand at your ribs.
“i don’t think i need to tell you that this is gonna hurt.”
“what are you doing?” you ask curiously.
he ignores you, speaking an unfamiliar incantation.
then followed: the longest, most agonising 15 seconds of your life.
the air was pushed out of your lungs, and your insides screamed as you felt your bones rearranging themselves. you thrashed as you begged for it to stop, for the pain to go away, or to just die right then and there, if only so the torture would stop.
as if the world was listening, it did stop. as abruptly as it started, it ended. hesitantly, you opened your eyes, to see sunghoon still kneeling in front of you, sweat rolling down his face, searching your face for any signs of further discomfort.
“are you okay?”
you blinked, staring into his eyes. there was a light in them - from where, you don’t know. there was barely any light in the room, the only source being the moon from outside the window.
“what… just happened,” you asked, almost forgetting to reply.
“i performed a spell the sped up the regeneration of your bones.”
you blinked again.
“…so, i’m okay?”
“i’m asking you that.”
“right.” you stood up and felt your torso with your hands, twisting your middle to test for any pain. “yeah, i think my ribs are fixed.”
“probably not fully,” he corrected, rubbing his nape awkwardly. “i haven’t mastered the spell just yet, so your bones may feel a bit stiff in the morning. just don’t do that again.”
“okay, wait. i have so many questions right now.”
sunghoon looked like he expected it, inhaling a breath and sitting on the dusty bed. “a question for a question, ‘kay? ask away.”
“where do i even start?” you sighed. you realised you still had scratches, and the slit on your back. you worked quickly to heal them, while sunghoon went over to help you with your back injury, seeing as you were struggling to reach it.
“how about, what’s your skin care routine, sunghoon?” he joked.
“and they say you don’t have a smart mouth,” you scoff, but laugh anyway.
“they also say i have pretty good skin.”
“i get it, your skin is clearer than any blue sky,” you roll your eyes, sighing in relief as sunghoon casts a (much more soothing) healing spell on your back. “okay, what are you doing here?”
“i was enjoying my peace and quiet, at least until you came.”
“you come to the whomping willow often?”
“i guess so,” he shrugs. “sometimes, when i can’t stand going back to the ravenclaw dorms, i go here.”
“oh.”
“your turn. what are you doing here?”
“to ask for your skin care,” you blurt out. sunghoon barks a beautiful laugh. “i saw you when i was on patrol and followed you when i saw you were going to the whomping willow. i wanted to tell you it was dangerous, and stupid.”
“and yet, you’re the one who’s hurt and injured.”
“theres a reason students are forbidden from coming here,” you say.
“yeah, so why didn’t you just call a teacher? you didn’t have to follow me all the way here, and you knew how dangerous it was.”
you stared at your lap. you didn’t think of just calling a professor, but now that seemed like the more logical thing to do.
“you must have been doing this a long time then, if you knew how to get past the tree safely.”
“about a year and a half,” he confirms. “do you remember that day i came back all messed up?”
“you remember that?” you ask, looking at him with wide eyes.
“how could i not? everyone looked at me like i deserved it, but you were the only person who did anything,” he furrowed his eyebrows.
“i thought you were beat up by other kids.”
“nope. that was the first time i tried to get into the whomping willow. i just hated the idea of going back to the common room, but i didn’t have a way of getting past the tree’s angry arms just yet. jake found me beat up and bleeding on the ground, and brought me back up to the castle.”
“he didn’t bring you to the infirmary? otherwise you would have been perfectly fine when you came back.”
“i asked him not to. even the nurse hates me,” he confessed quietly. your heart ached, and you hated everyone else at that very moment.
how could people hate sunghoon so much for suffering in school? he, who was healing you right now in the dark room of the whomping willow tree. how did he even know that spell earlier?
“can i ask how you knew that spell earlier? i didn’t recognise it.”
sunghoon chuckled. “okay, but that’s two questions. you owe me two answers.” you’d forgotten you were playing some sort of game.
“fine.”
“sometimes, i like to read up on books from other nations. i used to do it only because i’d been searching for a spell to freeze a large body of water for ice skating - i like to do that too - but it turned into a genuine interest.”
“reading up on foreign spells? huh,” you thought out loud. “that’s actually really cool. i’d never thought of it. where was the one you put on my bones earlier from?”
“south asia. i practiced almost all of the spells i came across, but it’s not like i had anything to test them on. i wasn’t going to break some poor animal’s ribs just to see if i could fix it.”
“ah, so i was your lab rat, huh?”
“i guess,” he shrugged. “maybe if i had more practice, i’d have actually been able to fix them entirely.”
“don’t worry about it,” you reassure him. “honestly, the fact you could even perform the spell so well without much practice is amazing. thank you, by the way. i’d probably be at the infirmary instead by now, slowly healing with a stupid magic hot pack the nurse always gives.”
sunghoon laughed at that. “the nurses always give those out. pretty useless, huh?”
“if you ask me, i think they’re just lazy at their job.”
you turn to look at the boy appreciatively, but instead you’re captured in a trance.
the way the moon illuminated his features made him look ethereal; you were jealous. how could someone make a person this beautiful, only to put them through torment from others? it didn’t make sense. it wasn’t fair.
sunghoon squeezed your hand, and only then did you realise he’d been holding it. was he holding your hand the whole time?
“let’s go back to the castle. i don’t think you’d want to spend the rest of the night in the whomping willow.”
“you’re right. but what about you? are you sure you want to go back?”
“i’m feeling better about going up, now that i’ve talked to you.”
“glad i served two purposes by being hurt tonight,” you jokingly saluted. you two shared a laugh before starting back up the path to the castle, being careful not to get caught being out after-hours.
when you two reached the top of the spiral staircase to your house's common room, you approached the eagle knocker on the door.
"when is ninety-nine more than a hundred?" the knocker asked.
you paused for a moment to think, looking to sunghoon for help. he only shrugged at you.
"on a microwave," you realised. "press ninety-nine, and it'll go for a minute and thirty-nine seconds. press one hundred, and the microwave will only work for a minute."
the door swung open after a moment, allowing you and sunghoon to enter.
"i can never answer those riddles."
you looked at him confusedly. "really?"
"really. i've given up trying to answer them since first year," he chuckled quietly to himself.
"but you have to answer them to get into the common room and dorms. how do you usually get back in, then?"
he smiled at you, flashing his fanged tooth. "that's your third question. i usually always come back with jake or sometimes jungwon, and they'll answer it for me. if i'm not with them, well, i'll just wait until they come."
"on the times they don't?"
"then i go to the whomping willow," he looks ahead. "tonight was one of those times, actually. it was the main reason i went out. jake's sick and he's been in bed all day. jungwon is out probably picking a fight with some other smarty-pants."
"oh. that sucks," is your intelligent reply.
"i always said that a password like the gryffindors would have been easier than riddles," he huffs.
ever since that night at the whomping willow, you and sunghoon were considerably. more acquainted and friendly with each other.
smiles shared across crowded hallways and sitting with the other in the ravenclaw common room became normal. sometimes, when you waited for your friends in the great hall for breakfast, sunghoon would strike up a conversation with you, and you'd happily converse with him (and jake).
neither of you had told your friends about the incident. or at least, you didn't. if sunghoon told jake, or any of his other friends (who the school called 'enhypen'), they didn't show any signs of knowing what went down between you two.
that didn't stop your own friends from raising an eyebrow when you said a quick hi to the taller boy, though. the same could be said for sunghoon's friends. there were countless times jake had (very obviously) pushed you two together with a grin on his face and a glint in his eyes. you and sunghoon just rolled your eyes and shared a secret smile - one that had your heart beating a little faster, unable to hold his gaze for a second longer.
that was weird, you thought one day. sunghoon had discreetly levitated some small chocolates to you in class, before you started feeling warmer and found it harder to focus on the lesson. maybe you were getting a fever.
on another note, your newfound friendship with ravenclaw's outcast meant that you often asked about what book he was reading and from where. sometimes you two would even study it together in the library.
"hey, i wanna practice a new spell i found," he greets you as he enters the common room (with jungwon).
"good day to you too," you reply. "do you need to break my ribs and test this 'new spell' on me?"
"if you're offering," he grins.
"i don't know what you're doing, y/n," jungwon starts. "but somehow, this guy's gotten better at comebacks."
"i guess your sarcasm is rubbing off on me."
"i do have that effect on people," you shrug nonchalantly, but let a smile pull at your lips.
the new spell definitely did not need any broken ribs. if anything, it would protect you from them next time.
sunghoon had cast a shield charm on you - one like an invisible bubble around your figure. nothing could get within a two meter range of you, the bubble following you around wherever you walked.
"this is pretty cool," you wow in amazement. you walk closer to the boy, only for him to be forcefully pushed back before you can even touch him. "no wonder charms is the only subject you're acing."
"well, that's why i have you and jake tutoring me on everything else."
"i should ask you where you even get the books for these spells. the international selection in the library isn't exactly that big."
"jake's parents work around the globe, and send me them."
"jake's really got your back, huh?"
"yup. that's four questions, by the way."
"oh, c'mon!" you roll your eyes and groan. sunghoon throws his head back in laughter. "just ask me your damn questions."
"hmm," he said thoughtfully. "why are you nice to me?"
you looked at him meaningfully. "i'm not nice to you, sunghoon. i just have enough human decency to treat you with the respect you have the right to."
he stared at you for a moment with an unreadable expression.
after a moment, he cast off the shield spell, and walked closer to you. he hesitantly wrapped his arms around you, making sure you were okay with it. you hugged him first, and felt him envelope you in an embrace after.
his warmth seeped into your clothes, which you welcomed wholly considering the cold february air. you could feel his heart beating fast - or is it yours?
with your chin sitting on his shoulder, you could see the great lake which had frozen from the winter temperature behind him, and remembered something he told you.
"you were looking for a spell to freeze large bodies of water."
"that's not a question," he mumbles against your shoulder.
"no, it's not."
"like i said, i wanted to go ice skating. it's fun, and i feel free when i do it. but you can't really go skating much at school when there's no ice rink."
"so you wanted to freeze the great lake? isn't there already some spell for that?"
"well, yeah. but that spell freezes it for a pretty long time, and i don't think the merpeople would appreciate their home being frozen for half the year."
"or that the school would allow it," you remind him.
"yeah, that too," he chuckled, his laugh reverberating through you. he finally let go and turned to the lake. "i wanted to find a temporary freezing spell - a few hours at most."
you hummed and stared into the cloudy sunset with him. you missed the warmth of his body, oddly enough.
"could i borrow the book you got this spell from?" you asked him. "that's not a question, by the way."
he smiled. "no, it's not."
maybe you really should go see the nurse. you don't think whatever magical hot pack she'll give you would help with your fever, though.
lately, you noticed that your pulse seemed to increase every so often. when that happened, you felt a bit more nervous - picking at your skin, bouncing your leg, etc. you were struggling to focus in some of your classes too, and you really needed to pick up your weight for your upcoming OWLs.
"stop biting your lip," sunghoon tells you one time.
"i'm not biting my lip. i don't do that," you look at him confusedly.
"you were just doing it. you've been doing it often," he tells you.
"you noticed?" you asked, surprised. his demeanour turned bashful.
"i guess so. here, i got you lip balm."
sunghoon reached into his bag and pulled out a small chapstick.
"for me?" he surprised you again. sunghoon nods. "your lips have gotten uneven and red from all that biting. this should help."
"...thanks," you say, taking the item from his hand.
you don't miss the way his breath hitches when your skin brushes against his. or the way you, both go quiet, unable to make conversation for once.
"so!" you clear your throat, looking in another direction. looking at sunghoon definitely wasn't going to help with your fever right now, or whatever it is you had.
"you still have three questions for me."
"i do," he huffs with a lilt in his tone. "white or dark chocolate?"
you consider him. you didn't understand this little game he was playing - wasn't it supposed to be meaningful questions? one that let you learn more about the other? sunghoon was always unpredictable - you could never guess what he was going to do next. he wasn't just a book you could read and learn from.
a laugh escapes you. "milk chocolate."
something you could read up on however, was the symptoms you were feeling. unfortunately, none of the medicinal books you read had answers that suited you.
you found yourself spending late nights at the ravenclaw library, scouring the shelves for an answer. did you have a new disease, or something?
"y/n?" you jumped when you heard jake's voice call out from below.
climbing down the ladder, you glare at him. "you scared me. what are you doing here? it's like two in the morning."
"it's almost three, actually." you wanted to laugh as he pushed up his glasses. "and anyway, i was going to ask you that question first."
you set down the books in your arms and start flipping through them.
"i was looking for something - a disease, maybe."
"oh? why's that?"
"i've not been feeling well, lately."
"i know a fair lot about medicine and sicknesses," he tells you. "shoot."
"well, i guess my temperature's been fluctuating. sometimes, it would get hotter, at random points in the day. i start to feel ditzy, like my mind goes haywire. i feel anxious when it happens, and it's a little harder to concentrate in class."
"uh huh..." he says thoughtfully. "do you ever feel that in history of magic?"
you look at him with wide eyes, nodding eagerly. "i always feel it during that class!"
"okay, i wanna ask you a question," he faces you. you scrunch your nose.
"you're just like sunghoon. always talking about that stupid question game."
jake just smirked at you. "nevermind, i already got my answer."
"what?"
"i think... the disease you're looking for, is feelings."
"feelings?"
"feelings for sunghoon. i think you like him a lot. you feel all that during history - a class you share with him," he thinks out loud. "i was going to ask if you think about sunghoon often, but you literally mentioned him just now, before i even brought him up."
jake made his way over to you and tapped two fingers to your chest, right above your heart.
"i'm not an expert, but i think this is an easily diagnosable case of love."
you gaped at him, slowly taking your seat.
"i like sunghoon?"
"how long have you been feeling this?"
"maybe a few months, now."
"wow," jake whistled. "i think you should tell him"
"i think that's stupid."
"well, not every ravenclaw can be smart," he shrugged. you glared at him.
"what are you doing here anyway? i don't suppose you're also looking for a diagnosis of love. if anything, i'd diagnose you with nosy."
jake laughed at that. "nah, i was actually looking for you. it's getting kinda boring seeing you and sunghoon pine over each other. thought i'd finally do something about it."
you threw a book at him, which he dodged. unfortunately, he didn't anticipate the second.
"ow!"
"like i said - nosy."
"i do have a pretty good nose - one you'll break if you throw another book at me."
"ugh, you and your friend are so full of yourselves," you scoff. you begin to walk out the library, refusing to see the grin on jake's face.
the sound of his laughter was cut off by the slam of the library doors behind you.
"bring your skates," you shout excitedly to sunghoon as soon as you run into the common room.
he looks at you in bewilderment from the couch, where he'd been playing wizarding chess with jungwon and jake.
"it's the middle of march, the ice has melted. where the hell am i going to skate?"
"just bring it," you smile.
you drag sunghoon down to the great lake by his wrist, both of you guys holding onto ice skates. the sun shines, sparkling in the water of the great lake.
you stop by the lake and fix your skates on. sunghoon follows suit.
"i still don't get what's happening."
"i found a way we can skate even when there's no more ice."
"really?" he gasps, a mix of surprise and excitement on his face. "you found a spell? from where?"
"actually... i didn't find one," you admit meekly. "i made one."
"you made a spell?" he asks, astonished. "how? when? why?"
"you only have two questions," you tease him. it felt good to get him back.
"remember when i asked for the book that had that shield spell?"
"yes."
"i had an idea - what if we could make the water freeze around us? like the way the shield has a range around you where no one can hurt you. i put that concept onto freezing water, and made a spell where the water freezes into ice only around you. that way, you can skate, without freezing the whole lake!"
"that's- that's amazing..." he gawked at you. "have you tried it yet?"
"yep! i wanted to make sure it worked before i got your hopes up."
the both of you stand up and stumble towards the water. you point your wand at the blades on both your shoes, and said the incantation for the spell.
sunghoon tentatively stepped onto the water, wowing when the water around him froze. you watched as he slowly begun to skate on the lake, following him.
"you're crazy," he exclaims with joyful laughter. "you're literally insane. i don't know how you did that. but you're amazing."
you blushed at his praise, his words affecting you way more than anyone else's would have.
being distracted and flustered, you lost your footing on the water (or ice?) and slipped. thankfully, sunghoon dashed towards you and caught you before you planted into the ground.
"careful," he told you. "although i would like to practice that regenerating rib spell, i don't want you breaking any bones again."
you smile shyly, clinging onto his shoulder as he wraps his arm around your back, making sure you didn't fall.
"thank you," you say. "you're always looking after me."
"you did the same for me."
"just once, though. this must be the fifth time you've helped me."
"well, you're kind of clumsy."
"only when i'm with you, it seems."
sunghoon paused, and turned around to look at you, finally letting go of you. you gazed back at him.
"what do you mean?"
"that's two extra questions," you smile at him. "you owe me two answers."
you took in a breath and looked away. you weren't sure if you wanted to see his reaction.
"i think i like you, park sunghoon. meeting you and becoming your friend was a total accident, but a good one. i'm happy it happened, and i wouldn't have changed anything. otherwise, i wouldn't have ever experienced this carefree feeling when i'm around you. i wouldn't have felt what it's like to have my heart speed up, or to look forward to seeing a person every day. and i wouldn't have that person be anyone other than you." serendipity.
you turned to look at him, whose eyes were blown wide, mouth agape. his eyes put his feelings on full display. you could see the disbelief, relief, and affection in them. it gave you courage to say your next words.
"so, you owe me two answers."
he closed his mouth and nodded, gulping down in anticipation. you skate closer, inches disappearing between you two.
"sunghoon, would you let me be yours?"
"yes. yes, yes, yes," he nods, grabbing your wrists and pulling you closer. "if only you'll let me be yours."
you giggle, and lean into him. your faces are now centimetres apart.
"and lastly, can i kiss you?"
he chuckles back. "you really don't have to ask that question."
"just wanted to make sure," you smile, before he crashes his lips onto yours.

heeseung
definitely the type to kiss you in slight desperation, as though yearning for more of your touch; would probably rest a hand on your waist, pulling you close to deepen the kiss. even as you’re moving to heave a breath of air, he’d lean close to you, eyes lightly fluttered close, lips parted— you get him all lovesick; plants a soft peck on your cheek afterwards, finding you so adorable.
jongseong
would be the type to smile into kisses— his mind’s just so giddy, and he feels like he’s floating on cloud nine; would lightly trace your jaw whilst doing so, finding you so, so pretty. his kisses would probably wind up trailing down your chin, light love bites being left on the canvas of your skin; pulls you into his embrace for a sweet hug, the largest of grins plastered on his face.
jaeyun
would definitely be the type to tug you close by the waist, fingers lightly tracing shapes onto your skin; would plant a kiss on your lips almost immediately after, catching you off guard. “love, don’t hide your face…” he’d say, his hands gently moving your own to the side, revealing your flushed face. he’d kiss you through your words, mumbling a soft “you fluster me more, sweetheart”; presses a gentle peck to your forehead afterwards, eyes brimming with love.
sunghoon
would be the type to cup your face in his palms, his loving gaze wholly focused on your face; flashes the smallest of smiles before pulling you in for a kiss, his hand absentmindedly caressing the side of your arm; would definitely bring you close for a hug afterwards, his face softly nuzzled in the crook of your neck; goes for a second kiss, and shyly smiles into it.

pairings: teacher!jake x single mom!reader
summary: Being a single mom to a 6 year old daughter isn’t always easy, and it doesn’t help that her class teacher awakens feelings inside of you, you haven’t felt in a long time. Will the love between you blossom, or will your complicated life drive you apart?
words: 11.6k
story colour: green
warnings: one heavy (?) make out session and a lot of tension
masterlist of ‘enhypen as jobs’
Life can change.
From one second to another, everything can change. Everything you have once known to be normal, everything you were used to. It all can get ripped away from you in the matter of a few seconds.
From one second to another a seventeen-year-old girl finds out she got pregnant from a boy that wasn’t ready to commit to a life like that yet and parents that felt nothing but disappointment towards their teenage daughter.
From one second to another this girl had to move away, raise a child on her own and build a life save for them to live in. She had to find a job with a steady income, find people who could help her and put all her needs aside for the small bundle of life she brought into the world.
Not only did she have to change her life, but she also had to rebuild it. She had to create a new, healthier and secure one. Suddenly it wasn’t about what outfit to wear to school, how to sneak out to go to a party or new drama that happened at school. It was about changing diapers, sleepless nights caused by a toothing child and soothing countless emotional outbreaks. It was about raising her child, teaching kindness and blaming every bad thing on herself.
But at the end of the day, it was being grateful, loving the child unconditionally and not being able to imagine her life any different. It was feeling purpose, feeling needed and feeling loved. It was showing exactly that love to her child and never letting her forget that.
♡❀˖⁺. ༶ ⋆˙⊹❀♡
Listening to the waves crashing against the shore, you soak in the last moments of this morning, the soft rays of sun on your face, the slight breeze making your cheeks rosy and the faint sound of birds chirping somewhere close by. You soak in this moment, because moments like this are rare in the life you’re living, quiet and undisturbed, protected from all the daily stress and complications.
You breathe in the air one last time, before you see someone approaching you out of the corner of your eye.
“Look mommy, I found a pretty shell.”, your 6-year-old daughter Nuri says as she holds her hand out for you to see. You show her a bright smile, admiring the pretty shell in her hands. Your daughter has always been a collector, shells, flowers, rocks, even leaves, nothing is safe from her. And it’s something you love about her. How she sees the beauty in the small things, always so eager to show you the new things she discovered, with her big bright eyes.
“It’s so pretty, Nuri. How about you put it into your bag and later we will get the other shells you collected and make a pretty necklace out of them?” You watch as the little girl enthusiastically nods, putting the shell carefully into her bag, before sitting down beside you on the blanket you laid over the sand.
“Are you excited about starting school today?”, you ask your daughter, as you gently pull her onto your lap, stroking her hair with one of your hands. Whenever you look at her, you get stunned by how much you see your younger self in her. The more she grows, the more the resemblance grows. But you also realize how awfully fast time passes, and how much has changed since the day you held your little baby in your arms for the first time.
“I am.”, Nuri says, her big eyes almost disappearing as she grins widely at you, showing off her missing front tooth. “But I will also miss kindergarten a lot. And I will miss you too, mommy.”
In an instant, tears fill up your eyes and it takes you a moment to swallow them down, not wanting Nuri to see you like that. You could cry after you dropped her off at school, but for now, those tears will have to stay hidden. “I will miss you too, sweet girl. But it is just a few hours that we don’t see each other. Every day after school I will pick you up and we can do whatever we want to do, okay?”
Nuri nods her head again, before wrapping her arms around you, pulling you into a tight hug. “Do you think I will make any friends?”
“Of course, you will.”, you tell her, truthfully. Your daughter, in contrary to you, never had problems talking to others. She is a social butterfly, making friends wherever she goes. You admire her for that, wanting to have the same trait. Because while she plays with all the kids in the playground, you can only watch the other mothers sit together, talking about everything and nothing. Part of you wants to just go up to them, ask them if you could join them, but the other part of you feels anxious, scared of getting judged, the way you always do. Being a mom so young has only brought you trouble, wherever you go. And while Nuri is the best thing that has happened to you, others seem to not support that opinion.
If you got a dollar for every time someone told you that you would destroy your kids future, or that you are way too young to have this kind of responsibility, you would be rich by now. Everywhere you go, if it’s grocery shopping, getting gas, at restaurants, people try to give you advice or comment on the things that apparently went wrong with your life, without even knowing you or your story. You heard everything, from your parents not raising you right or having daddy issues because your dad left you when you were young, to being whore that slept around until she eventually got pregnant.
But they don’t know that it was just a simple accident. That it was two teenagers having their first times together, being nervous and not really knowing what to do. It was two teenagers who didn’t think and had to deal with the consequences of their moment together. Well, at least one did. It wasn’t your parents’ fault; it wasn’t you sleeping around. It was just something that happened, unplanned but not unwanted.
And they don’t know that ever since Nuri came into your life, everything felt like it had a purpose. You felt like you had a purpose. Being a mother has made you find out who you truly are, and what you truly want. It made you more aware of the process of growing up, and made you realize all the stupid things you did as a teenager. It helped you through the hardest times and gave you something to hold on to, a reason to fight. Nuri is the reason you wake up every day, the reason you can get out of bed and the reason you finally have a routine in your life.
And you truly believe that it was meant to happen. You were meant to get pregnant with her and build up a life for the both of you.
“If someone will make a lot of friends, it’s you. I just know that everyone will love you, just how I know that I love you, so so much.”
-
It’s a weird feeling, picking your daughter up from her first day of school. You watch all the kids run up to their parents, excited little faces, already going on and on about everything that happened while they spend a few hours apart.
And while you’re waiting for your daughter to exit the school, you realize you can’t wait to be with her again, to hear her tell all the stories about her experiences on her first day, to get ice cream with her and make necklaces and bracelets. You realize that this must be harder for you than for her. She doesn’t realize the quickness in which she grows up, but you do.
It feels like yesterday when she was still in your belly. It feels like yesterday when she took her first steps, falling face first to the ground. It feels like yesterday when she said her first words, going up to every stranger in the grocery store and proudly repeating that word to them. It feels like yesterday when she lost her favorite toy and cried for two days straight. When you threw a little goodbye party for that toy with her and explained to her that maybe another child found her toy and gave it a new home, only to find the toy four days later under your bed. And it feels like yesterday when she came into your room, telling you she had a nightmare. She crawled into your bed and shortly before sleep took over, she whispered that you are the best mommy in the whole world.
All these memories start crashing over you, one by one. Tears fill your eyes yet again, and it takes everything in you to blink them away, not wanting to break down in front of all these strangers.
“Mommy.”, you hear her voice before you see her. Turning in the direction of the voice, you see your daughter running up to you, her arms wide open. You kneel down, opening your arms yourself and a bright smile lighting up all your features.
“Hey, my sweet girl.”, you say as you wrap her tightly into your arms. All the sadness you felt a moment ago washes away the moment you relish in the feeling of having the most important person in your life in your arms. “How was your first day?”
“It was so amazing, mommy. We learned a new song and ate a lot of fruits together. I made a lot of friends, and all my teachers are so nice.” You can’t help but smile brightly at the excitement of your daughter. “Do we have some time before we go home? I want you to meet my teacher. He is still in the classroom, so we have to hurry.”
Before you can answer, Nuri already takes off with your hand in hers, leading you inside the school and to her classroom. You marvel at all the colorful decoration, the helpful quotes and the artistic pictures. “Hello, Mr. Sim.”, your daughter says, excitedly waving at her teacher.
You take another step into the classroom, looking for the man that is busy packing his bag. But when he turns around and shows your daughter a bright smile, it almost takes your breath away. You never expected a teacher to look this… gorgeous. Mr. Sim looks young, your age probably, his skin is soft and glowing, his eyes a deep shade of brown and his black hair framing his perfect face. He has full, pink lips and a smile so bright, it resembles a puppy.
“Hey, Nuri. What are you doing here? Shouldn’t you be on your way home?” Even his voice sounds like it was dipped into honey and laced with cream and sprinkles. It does something to you, you haven’t felt in a really long time.
“I wanted you to meet my mommy.”, she says, pointing over at you. And the moment Mr. Sim’s eyes meet you, you can feel something in the air change. A uncuttable tension fills the room, and you can’t stop staring at him. You can’t stop looking at his perfect face and his perfect eyes and his perfect lips. You feel ashamed for feeling this way, for thinking about your daughter’s teacher that way, but you can’t help yourself. “Mr. Sim this is my mommy.”
“Hi.”, he says, his voice breaking with this simple word. “I’m Mr. Sim, but you can call me Jake.” Jake wipes his hand on his pants before reaching it out for you to take, which you do. Gently you place your hand in his, giving it a soft shake, almost sighing at the feeling of this small contact. Jake has big hands, long fingers and veins traveling up his arms, but his skin is so soft and smooth it almost doesn’t seem fair.
“I’m Y/N, Nuri’s mom.” You almost punch yourself for sounding so weak and pathetic. The last thing you want is for Nuri’s teacher to know what an effect his mere presence has on you. “Are you Nuri’s class teacher?”
“For now, yeah. I’m a substitute teacher since their actual teacher got into an accident and has to rest for probably a few months. I was meant to start at another school but got transferred here last minute.” You could listen to him speak for hours. “But you probably don’t care about that.” He chuckles softly, letting a hand nervously glide through his silky hair. “What you probably do care about is that we have a parents’ conference next week. I wanted to send an e-mail to every parent, but you know, seeing as you are here, I just wanted to let you know beforehand.”
You nod at him, showing him a small appreciative smile. “Thank you, Jake. I will see what I can do to come. Maybe someone will have the time to look after Nuri for a few hours.”
Jake nods one time, then another, before letting his hand fall to his side. “It’s a pretty important conference, seeing that this has a lot of information about the first school year. Maybe her father can look after her, so you can come.” You can hear the lingering note in his sentence, subconsciously knowing that he’s testing the waters.
“Nuri’s father is not in her life.”, you say, looking down at your daughter who only smiles up at you. “It’s just us, right, sweet pee?”
“Yep.”, she says, nodding her head a few times. “Our house is a girls’ only zone.” Jake chuckles at the words of the little girl in front of him. He reaches into the pocket of his jeans and takes out his phone to hand it to you.
“You can see if you find someone to look after her for a few hours and if not, you can just text me and we will find a solution. Is that okay with you?” Stunned, you take his phone, seeing his contact list already open.
“Yeah, yeah of course. Thank you so much, Mr. Sim.”
“Jake.”, he tells you again, a gentle smile resting on his lips. “You can just call me Jake, okay?”
-
“God, it was so embarrassing.”, Jake says as he drinks a sip from his coke. “I kept on rambling and stuttering. Like my hands got all sweaty and I couldn’t even really look her in the eyes.”
He hears his friends laughing at him to which he just frowns. Jake knows the way he acted around you, his student’s mom, wasn’t appropriate, but it was like the moment he saw you his brain stopped working. All the blood rushed out of it, leaving him stupid and unable to form thought through sentences. It was like he was sixteen all over again. A teenager nervous around pretty girls, unable to talk to them without making a foul out of himself.
“Dude, you seem down bad for her.”, Jay, his friend, says, not being able to hide the amusement in his voice. It’s been a while since the boys heard any stories about women in Jake’s life. Jake always tried to keep in love life as clear as possible, only looking for something serious and whenever he noticed the other person wasn’t reciprocating the same feeling, he ended whatever it was between him and the other person. Ever since Jake was young, he had one wish and that was to be in love. To love unconditionally, find someone who feels the same way and spend the rest of his life with them. To marry, have kids and grow old together. That’s what Jake always wanted, and still does to this day. But finding someone with the same wish turned out to be harder than he thought it would.
“But doesn’t she have a kid? Doesn’t that mean she has a husband, or boyfriend?”, Sunghoon asks, joining in on the conversation.
Jake just shakes his head, sighing as he lets his free hand nervously glide through his hair. “No, I already asked her. It’s apparently just her and her daughter. But I don’t know where the father is, didn’t think it would be appropriate to ask her that.”
“Wait. You asked her about a man in her life?”, Heesungs’ eyes are wide, and he has to swallow the laugh that threatens to leave his lips. “Bro, there is no way, you had the balls to do that. She definitely knows that you are interested in her.”
“What?”, Jake exclaims, bewilderedly looking at his friends. “What do you mean she knows I am interested in her?”
“Bro, you asked if she has a boyfriend or not, that’s the first sign of testing the waters, checking if she’s single. Everyone knows that and I bet she does too.”
Jake lets his head fall into his hands, a frustrated sigh leaving his lips. “She probably thinks I am a weirdo. God, what if she doesn’t want her child to be in a class with a teacher that was shamelessly hitting on her? What if she tells the other parents and I’m going to get kicked out of that school?”
“Jake.”, Sunghoon puts a comforting hand on his friend’s shoulder. “I doubt she would do that. And come on, maybe she is interested in you as well. Look at you, you are an attractive man. Don’t overthink this whole thing, okay?”
-
“And they lived happier ever after. The end.”, you finish reading the bedtime story for Nuri, closing the book and putting it on her nightstand.
“Mommy?”, you hear her quiet voice asking for you. Immediately, you take her hand, showing her a soft smile. She looks so small with her eyes just half open, tiredness written all over her face.
“Yes, sweety?”
“Do you like Mr. Sim?” The question surprises you, makes you take a few deep breaths before feeling ready to answer.
“I think he is a lovely person. He seems very sweet to you. Why do you ask that?”
Nuri adjusts her position, trying to open her eyes more to look at you clearly. “I think you are in love with him. Mrs. Kim said that when someone is in love with another person, they get very nervous and start stuttering in their sentences. She told me that you can’t stop looking at the person and that you seem kind of starstruck. Just like the way I look at ice cream.” She hugs her little teddy bear closer to her chest before continuing. “That’s how you looked today when you looked at Mr. Sim.”
You can’t help but shake your head as you hear the words your elderly neighbor has told your daughter. But it shouldn’t surprise you. Mrs. Kim has always been a hopeless romantic, going on and on about how you will find the right guy for you, that you just have to be patient. She has been watching over Nuri ever since she was a little baby, and it was bound to happen that at some point she would fill your daughter’s head with this nonsense.
“I am not in love with Mr. Sim, baby. I don’t even know him.”
“But you could get to know him. And then you will fall in love with him and live happily ever after with him, just like in the stories you read me every night.” You can hear something underlying in your daughter’s voice. Something she hides as she speaks those words.
“Nuri, why do you want me to fall in love with Mr. Sim?”, you ask her, squeezing her hand softly. You can see the sadness forming on her little face and it breaks your heart seeing her like this. Whatever it is that she was thinking at that moment, must have been on her mind for a long time.
“Ever since last year the kids in kindergarten asked me why I don’t have a dad. Every kid there has a dad, just not me. I want to have a dad, too, just like all the other children do.” Small tears start dripping down her cheeks, and you can’t hide the ones threatening to leave your eyes too.
“Oh, my sweet girl. Come here.” You gently pull her into a hug, cradling her head in your hands. “Why didn’t you tell me about it?”
“I didn’t want to make you sad. I know that talking about my dad makes you very sad, and I don’t want you to be sad, mommy.” Twice, you felt your heart break within a few minutes. You hadn’t realized the effect this theme has on you, the sadness that still lingers whenever you think about her father. You hadn’t realized that your daughter noticed that. Your empathetic six-year-old daughter. A part of you feels proud of her for being such a sweet considerate little girl, but the other part is scared of how much other stuff she has noticed.
“Nuri, I am so sorry for not talking a lot about your father with you. I promise I will answer you every question about him in the future. And I am not sad when you mention him, okay? It is so important for you to communicate your feelings with me. When something worries you, you can always come to me and tell me about it, no matter what, okay?” You can feel her nod against your chest, her little hands wiping away the tears on her face. “Good. Now try to sleep, sweety. You need to have a lot of energy for school tomorrow. I love you, Nuri.”
“I love you too, mommy.”
-
You feel nervous as you park at the school building. There are several cars there already, all parents who will also be at the conference. Anxiety builds up in your belly, the fears of judgement towards you rising inside of you. This happened a lot at parent conferences when Nuri was still in kindergarten. The parents would be delighted to see you at first, asking if you are her sister but when they find out you are her mom, all you got was weird looks and whispers from other parents. It made you almost skip every conference after that, but you had to go, for Nuri’s sake. So, it’s understandable why your hands are shaking as you enter the school.
You dropped Nuri off at Mrs. Kim’s appartement, not before telling her to stop bringing Nuri’s hope of you getting a boyfriend up. A part of you knows that Mrs. Kim didn’t mean it with any bad intention, but you still don’t want Nuri to think that she will get a dad. Her real father is still uninterested to be in her life, and you don’t think that will change any time soon, and bringing a new father figure into her life is something you are still afraid of. People these days are not looking for serious commitment, they get scared when they hear about the child in your life, and they leave before anything serious can even start to develop. And the last thing you want is to introduce someone to Nuri’s life, just to have them leave a few weeks later. You don’t want to do that to her.
“Y/N.”, you hear someone call out for you and when you turn around you are greeted with the bright smile of no other than Sim Jake. “You made it. I am so happy to see you.”
“Yeah, sorry for not texting you. I kind of forgot about it with the whole stress I was having the best few days.” Jake seems to only smile brighter at your words, one of his hands nervously scratching the back of his neck. It gives you a moment to take him in. He is wearing a baggy pair of blue jeans with a black button up shirt, the arms of his shirt rolled up, exposing his arms. You can’t help but to let your eyes trail to his hands, his beautiful hands, but before you let yourself trail off too long, you let your eyes wander back to his, only to be met by a smirking Jake. Jake noticed your wandering gaze, the way your eyes shamelessly roamed his body. And he can’t say he isn’t flattered.
“Don’t worry, Y/n. I’m just glad to see you again. I hope you are, too.” You can hear the shift in his voice, the confidence and pride in it. And it makes a shiver run down your spine. “But we should go inside the classroom, before the parents get worried where I am.”
For the whole conference, you try to stay focused, to take notes and remember everything Jake was telling the parents, but your mind always drifted off. You got lost staring at the way he was talking so animatedly with his hands, biting his lip, and licking it with his tongue after every sentence, and how he brushes his hair out of his eyes every few seconds. And looking around, you notice that you don’t seem to be the only one staring at Jake. Some other mothers in the room developed a certain fascination with the young teacher, tugging their hair behind their ears and looking at him with a starstruck gaze. Watching them, you notice that you must look the same way when you look at Jake, just how Nuri told you. And it makes an embarrassed flush appear on your cheeks. You should really get yourself together. This is the teacher of your daughter, you shouldn’t be thinking about him in that way, shouldn’t be staring at him with such hungry eyes.
So, when you Jake announces the end of the conference, you can’t help but to hastily back your things into your back and make your way to head out of the classroom. “Y/N.” But Jake’s voice stops you from that. “Can you stay back a bit? I want to talk to you.” You turn around and give him a quick and shy nod, before sitting down on one of the chairs again and waiting for all the other parents to leave. Which turns out to take longer than you thought it would, almost all of the moms line up in front of him, asking him questions and wanting his attention.
Every now and then you see the look on Jake’s face, the tight-lipped smile and the alarming eyes, seeming almost uncomfortable. But you could be wrong about that impression.
Finally, the last one left, leaving only you and Jake in the classroom. He turns to you, a soft and honest looking smile on his lips. “Thank you for waiting, Y/N. I really appreciate that.” You smile back at him, standing up so you can walk over to him.
“Why did you want me to stay back?”, you ask him as you stop in front of him, looking up at him with your wide eyes. Jake seems to be losing the ability to talk again, your eyes driving him crazy. You give him the type of look that makes him want to press you against the next wall and kiss you until your lungs give out.
“I wanted to ask you how you liked the conference.” His voice is low and coarse, and he has to clear his throat a few times to get rid of the lump in it.
“You wanted me to stay back just so you could ask me how I liked the parents conference?”, you ask him, eyebrows raised in a question.
“Yes?”, he answers, his yes almost sounding like a question itself. He scratches the back of his neck again, feeling suddenly so self-conscious. “I mean it was my first time doing something like this and I guess I just wanted to know how I was. You know, if I came across as nervous or insecure.”
You shake your head at him, a constant smile on your lips. “Jake, you did so well. Everyone in this room liked you, and you seemed so confident when you talked about everything. Believe me, no one could have done it better than you.”
Jake feels his heart swell at your words, not having thought you would say something like that to him. It has been a long time since Jake has gotten praised in such a way, and it does something to him, something he can’t admit to himself.
“Thank you.”, he mumbles, a faint bit of blush on his cheeks. “Hearing that means a lot to me.”
You gently squeeze his arm, showing him another bright smile. “No need to thank me. I am just telling you the truth.” You take a step back again, hand sinking back to your side. “But I sadly have to go now. I have to pick up Nari since it’s a school night and I don’t want her to stay awake for too long.”
“Yeah, sure, of course.”, Jake quickly says, walking to his bag and starting to pack in his things. “Give me a second, I will walk you to your car.”
-
This has been the third time in four months that you were too late to pick up Nuri from school. With the newfound time, your boss thought it was a good idea to give you more work, and normally you would decline this amount of work, since it gives you less time that you can spend with Nuri. But more work also means more money, and you need it more desperately than ever lately. The rent in your apartment got raised, fuel got more expensive and all the school stuff that you had to buy also didn’t make your bank account look good.
With your head lowered and guilt tripping down every part of your body, you walk into Nuri’s school. As you step into her classroom, your eyes widen. Jake is sitting beside Nuri on a desk, drawing inside a book with her, while talking to her with a soft smile on his face.
“There you are Ms. Park.”, you can hear the voice of Nuri’s other teacher Mrs. Song. “We waited for you for 30 minutes now. This is the third time this has happened, and I cannot tell you how disappointed I am with your punctuality. I get that you are young, but that doesn’t give you the right to abandon your own child for whatever party activity you have to do.”
Almost immediately you feel the guilt replace itself with anger. You know that picking up your child too late is irresponsible, but claiming you abandon your child and go partying is reaching too high. You feel like you’re seventeen-year-old you all over again, when everyone told you that you won’t be able to raise a child, that your child will grow up traumatized, wishing they had all the things other kids her age have. They told you to give Nuri up for adoption, that it would be the best possibility at your age.
“I am so sorry I was late picking up Nuri, again. But your accusations are what are disappointing here. As a teacher you shouldn’t have such prejudices against parents. Yes, I am young, but that doesn’t mean I am not able to love and provide for my daughter. Live on day in my shoes and see how well you can manage it.”
A short beat of silence fills the room, and before Mrs. Song can open her mouth to say another word, Jake speaks up first. “Mrs. Song, how about you take Nuri to one of the vending machines and get her a snack, while I talk to Ms. Park.”
With a heavy sigh, Mrs. Song nods, taking Nuri’s hand and walking out of the room with her, leaving you and Jake alone. “Y/n.” He gently says as he walks over to you. And there is something about his voice, so gentle and caring and something about his presence so comfortable and safe, that makes the tears in your eyes break their way free to roll over your cheeks. “Oh, come here.”
Jake gently pulls you into his arms, one hand on your back, comfortingly stroking it, and the other on your head. You wrap your own arms tightly around him and allow yourself for the first time in months to let it all out, the stress, the hurt, the pain, the longing, everything. A sob wracks through your whole body, and it breaks Jake’s heart. He doesn’t know how to help you, what to do to take all this pain away from you. So, all he does is pull you closer – if that’s even possible – and whisper encouraging words into your ear.
“Do you want to talk about it?”, Jake gently asks as he pulls away from the hug, taking your face in his hands and wiping the tears on your face away with his thumbs.
You close your eyes for a few seconds, trying to calm down from your little breakdown, before starting to talk to him. “Everything has just been so hard lately. I can barely pay rent, I have to work longer and harder to earn all the money I need, and Nuri hasn’t stopped talking and asking questions about her dad. I try to act unbothered by it, but if your daughter talks about the boy that has not only broken your heart but left you alone when you most needed him, it makes you relive it all over again. And I just feel like the worst mom on earth for not being able to give Nuri the live she deserves. Everyone is telling me that over and over again, what if they are right?”
“No.”, Jake says shaking his head. He cups your cheek with one hand, the other one taking its place on your waist. “Listen to me. You are an amazing mom, Y/n. God, half of the people that say those mean things want to be just like you. You sacrificed so much to provide for your daughter and that is more than just admirable. You should be proud of yourself, not doubt yourself. Nuri loves you. In fact, you are all she ever talks about. She admires you so much, Y/n, and she loves you with all her heart. That’s what matters the most.”
More tears start to stream down your cheeks, and you whisper a quiet ‘thank you’ to Jake, before pulling him back into your arms. He holds you close, leaving a gentle kiss at your temple every now and then. “How about we get Nuri and then we go out for ice cream? I don’t want to leave you alone right now.”
You nod against his chest, not ready to let go of him yet. “Thank you, Jake. For everything.”
-
Something changed between you and Jake after that day. It started with texts, him checking up on you every now and then, seeing if you need help. Then it developed to calls, once a week, talking about your feelings and worries, but those calls quickly got more frequent and happened every night after you put Nuri down to sleep. And you don’t know how it happened or when it happened, but now you find yourself getting ready to meet him for the first time in another place other than Nuri’s school.
“I think the purple top looks prettier on you, mommy.” Nuri says from where she sits on your bed. You have been changing outfits for an hour now, never finding the right thing to wear.
“You think so?”, you ask as you put it over put it on yet again. “I think you are right. This should be good enough.” You turn around to face Nuri, just to see her snuggled up with her teddy bear, big eyes watching you attentively. “You ready to spend some time with Mrs. Kim, sweety?”
You are answered with a wild nod and a bright smile. You know you could just take her with you, Jake wouldn’t mind that at all, but there is a part of you that really wants to spend some time with him alone. Just you and him.
You shouldn’t feel selfish about it, but you do. You feel like you put your own needs before your daughters’ ones. You know it’s far reached since this is the first time in a while that Mrs. Kim has to look after Nuri, but you hate depending on people. You hate having to drop Nuri off somewhere when you have plans. You hate that you can’t do this alone.
“Hey, pretty girl.”, Jake says as he sits down beside you on the picknick blanket you pulled out for the two of you, a bright smile is on his beautiful lips. “Can I ask you why exactly you wanted to meet here?”
You look at the ocean in front of you, at the soft waves crashing against the shore, glowing under the soft light of the sun peeking through the clouds. There is something magical about this place, something you can’t describe in words.
“I used to come here all the time when I was pregnant with Nuri. It was the only place that seemed to calm me down. I guess I just wanted to share that with you. You have become a very comforting part of my life, and I just thought you would like this place as much as I do.”
There is something in Jake eyes that changes the moment you speak those words. They seem to go lighter, wider, like a little puppy. It makes all the blood in your body rush right up in your cheeks and lets goosebumps rise over your skin. It makes you think about things you aren’t supposed to think, feel things that definitely aren’t appropriate to be thought in public.
Jake takes one of your hands, giving it a tight squeeze before sighing gently and looking out into the sea. You follow his gaze, admiring the sand glittering in the sunlight and listening to the sounds of the seals far off on the water. Both of you relish in the tranquility of the moment, no words needed.
“It’s my birthday next week,” Jake says after a few minutes. “I am throwing a small party. Just me and my three friends and I wanted to know if you want to come as well.”
You look at him only to be met with his hopeful, big eyes. He shows you an encouraging smile, and for a moment you unlearn the ability to speak. “Uhm, yeah, sure. Is it okay if I bring Nuri with me? I hate having to leave her at Mrs. Kims place all the time.”
“Of course, I was assuming she was going to come as well.” Your heart swells at his words, appreciating his attentive soul. You know how much Jake grew fond of Nuri. He talks about her approvements in school all the time, telling you about funny jokes she makes or impressive questions she asks. Jake tells you how smart and polite she is, and how she always tries to include everyone into the little friend group she built. He also tells you how well you raised her, and how proud he is of you for that, but that’s not something you want to focus on, because it makes you think about inappropriate things.
“Then we will definitely be there.” Jake shows you another one of his bright smiles, white teeth on his display. Sometimes when you look at him, through the phone or in real life, you wonder what it is the two of you have. You wonder if it is just a friendship the two of you are building up, or if it is more than that. There are moments- you don’t know if you are imagining them or if they are real- where the tension between you heightens, so much it could be cut with a knife. There are moments in which it feels like if one of you makes a move something is going to happen, something big and heavy. There are moments in which you think that this could be it. This could be yours forever. It sounds crazy, farfetched, but Jake is the type of person you always wanted to spend the rest of your life with. He is the kind of person, you know would treat you right, the kind of person that would have a good influence on Nuri. You know you two haven’t fully gotten to know each other. Jake may be in a completely different chapter of his life. He may not want to commit to something so serious, especially since he is only at the start of his teaching job, or because he is too young to think about having a family. You don’t know what this is between you guys and while you desperately want an answer to that question, you don’t want to risk losing whatever it is the two of your built up in the past weeks.
But when you look at Jake again you can feel the same tension, heavy and thick. You notice his eyes darkening, the way he licks his lips more often and glances down at your own every few seconds. One move, it will just take one move, and one of you is going to break the distance between the two of you.
Jake gently places one hand on your thigh, and you can feel his warmth burning through the material of your jeans and right onto your skin. You have to swallow the gasp that threatens to leave your lips, shocked at what such a little touch from him does to you. His hand travels further up and it almost feels impossible for you to think clearly. Every last piece of sanity left your body the moment Jake touched you and all you can focus on is him. Him and his plump lips, him and his big hands that are touching you in the most alluring way. And him and his big brown eyes, pulling you in and hypnotizing you.
“Y/n.”, he whispers, voice hoarse and rough. Suddenly, his face is closer, lips almost touching yours. You just have to lean forward a little more, but you are frozen, lost in his scent. You want him, you need him. Everything inside of you screams for him, in a way you have never experienced. Your body is pulled towards him like a magnet, and you need him to take you home to him right now.
But before any of you can suggest that a voice calls out for Jake in the background. Almost immediately the two of you pull away from each other, awkwardly looking around. “Hey Jake. I knew that was your big head.” A man, around your age, approaches the two of you. He is tall, with black hair and a few prominent moles on his face. His smile reveals two little fangs which you find quite adorable.
“Oh, sorry. I didn’t see you have any company.” The man awkwardly glances at the two of you, noticing that he just interrupted something between the two of you.
“All good, bro.”, Jake says, not being able to hide the disappointment in his voice. “Y/n, this is Sunghoon. One of my friends I told you about.” You show Sunghoon a polite smile, reaching one hand out to for him to take.
“It’s nice to meet you, Sunghoon.” Sunghoon can’t hide the surprised look on his face as he takes your hand and gives it a quick shake.
“Hold on, you are Y/n?” You nod your head at him, confused as to why he was reacting like that towards you. “Wow, I heard a lot about you.” From the corner of your eyes, you can see Jakes head falling into his hands, as he lets out a frustrated grunt. A smug grin appears on your lips as you cock your head at the boy in front of you.
“I hope you only heard good stuff.”
“You best believe it was only good stuff. Jake won’t stop talking about you. All day long he goes on about ‘Y/n is so-“ But before he can continue his sentence, Jake slaps one of his hands on the mouth of his friend, shutting him up indefinitely.
“That’s enough from you, Sunghoon. Man, you never know when to shut up.” Jake mumbles that last part, but you hear it anyway. All the doubt you had in your mind earlier leaves your head. Maybe Jake does want you the way you want him. Maybe he really is different than all the other man you met.
“Well as much as I wanted to hear whatever your friend had to say, I have to go now. It was nice meeting you, Sunghoon. And we will call later, right?” As you ask the last question, you look at Jake, eyebrows raised, waiting for his answer.
“Yes, of course. I will call you.”
“Okay, then see you later.” You give Jake a quick kiss on the cheek and show Sunghoon a last goodbye smile, before grabbing your things and walking to your car, leaving an embarrassed Jake and a widely grinning Sunghoon behind.
“So, this is Y/n, huh? Man, now I get why you won’t stop talking about her. She is hot.”
“Hey, come on. Don’t talk about her like that.” Jake shakes his head, blowing out some air from his lungs and closing his eyes for a moment to clear his still foggy mind. He still hasn’t recovered from the moment you two had just a few minutes ago. Jake was so close to kissing you, so close to asking you to go somewhere private, because he knows you felt it too. He knows you could feel the tension in the air, the arousal dripping from your body. He knows it, and he could feel it by the way your body was reacting to him. “She is so much more than just hot.”
“I’m just saying.” Sunghoon shrugs his shoulders, reaching one hand out to help Jake stand back up. “I’m glad you finally found someone, Jake. Happiness looks good on you.”
-
Nuri and you spent three hours baking and decorating the cupcakes for Jakes’ birthday party, and judging by the way Jakes friends stuff them into their mouths, it was worth the effort.
At first you were worries bringing Nuri to a birthday party with three strange men she doesn’t know but watching her giggle at the cream smeared faces of Jakes’ friends, all the worry flew right of the window. From the moment you entered the apartment the boys made it their life mission to entertain Nuri. They went from playing tea party, to performing dance routines, to laying on the ground and acting like they are mermaids. There was not one single wish Nuri expressed, that they didn’t grant in a heartbeat. She wants them to put on lipstick and towels as dresses to make a fashion show. Done. She wants them to act like knights and protect the princess- her- from a dangerous attack. Done. She wants them to carry her around, spin her in circles and throw her high up in the air every five minutes. Done.
And you can see that Nuri enjoys all the attention she is getting. She thrives in it, and it gives you a sense of relief.
“They are so good with children.”, you tell Jake who is sitting beside you, watching as Nuri counts down from ten to search for Sunghoon, Jay and Heeseung in a game of hide and seek.
“They are.”, Jake says, resting his head on your shoulder. “They all want children someday. We had that conversation before, so I knew that they would also love it when Nuri comes over.”
“And you?”, you ask Jake, looking down at him. “Do you want children?”
You can feel him smile from where he has his face buried in your neck. He leaves a gentle kiss at the space between your shoulder and your neck, before lifting his head to look into your eyes. “Yes.” There is no sign of hesitation in his voice, his eyes reflecting his sincerity. “Yes, I really want kids.”
“Now, or in a few years?”
“I don’t care.”, he says, grabbing one of your hands, and playing with your fingers just for a few seconds, before intertwining your fingers. “If now or in five years, I’m ready to have kids. I’ve always wanted them. Why would you think I work at an elementary school?” You can feel the weight lifting from your shoulders. This question has been bothering you for some time now, and now that it’s finally out and is answer is so fitting, you can’t fight the smile lighting up your face.
“Hey, you two love birds. I hate to interrupt your little moment, but I just wanted to ask you if it’s okay that we take Nuri to the playground a street down from here?”, Heeseung asks, looking straight at you. “Ever since we told her about the playground, she has been begging us to take her there. I swear we won’t be long, and we will take good care of her. I swear, I will never leave her out of my sight and stay by her side the whole time.”
This isn’t something you would normally do. You wouldn’t trust someone you barely know to take your child somewhere, but it’s something about the way they took care of her today that makes you trust them. And you trust Jake. You trust him to know what kind of people to introduce to your daughter. “Of course, yes.”, you tell Heseeung, smiling as you see the excitement on his face. “Just make sure to be back by dinner and to not let her on the swing for too long. She always gets sick when she’s on it for a longer time.” With one last nod and a ‘We promise to take the best care in the world about her’, they are out of the door.
It takes a few seconds for you to realize that you and Jake are alone. And it takes another few seconds for you to face the man sitting beside you. There it again, the look in his eyes, making you weak in his knees.
1, 2, 3 seconds pass and Jake can’t handle this silence anymore. He can’t handle the way you look at him and what it does to him. With one tug, Jake pulls you closer and it doesn’t take him long before he presses his lips against yours.
This is different than any kiss you have ever experienced. Jake kisses with a passion, with a longing, you have never felt before. His hands are on your body, in your hair, holding your cheeks. He pulls you onto his lap, never once stopping the heated kiss. You have your arms around his neck, pulling him closer to you, needing to feel him everywhere.
There is an urgency in the kiss, a need to big it’s going to explode. Every pent of thought or longing the both of you have kept to yourself over the past week flows right into the kiss. It’s wild, passionate and so indescribable good. You can feel it tingling all over your body, waking up needs you didn’t know you have, thoughts you always tried to repress. Jakes hands wander over your body again, your thighs, your hips, your waist, your back. And it makes you moan softly into the kiss, breaking free just to take a deep breath which gives Jake enough time to explore the soft skin of your neck. He trails down kisses, stopping at the point where he feels your pulse and licking the sensitive skin.
Another soft moan slips out of your lips, and it drives Jake crazy. It makes his head spin and takes his breath away. There is no clear thought in his head anymore, everything is clouded by the pleasure of this moment. His hands pull you closer to him, eyes closing at the feeling of you, and you have to take another deep breath before whispering your next words.
“Take me to your room, Sim Jake.”
-
“You’re so beautiful.”, Jake whispers as he raises his hand to softly stroke your hair out of your face.
“Good morning to you too.” You have been waking up to the sight of Jake for the past few months now, and no matter how many times you see him like this, you never get used to the sight. His hair messy from the night’s sleep, his naked chest shining in the morning sun and his puffy pink lips puffy from the night before. He is gorgeous, ethereal even. No word describes the beauty he is carrying.
Jake pulls you into his arms so that your head lays on his chest and his arms are tightly around you. “I will never get used to this.”, he whispers. “This is a dream come true.”
“What is a dream come true?”
“You. This. Waking up next to you, getting to spend every day with you and Nuri. This, this is perfect.” You close your eyes, letting this moment sink in for a while. You capture it, take a mental photo and put it in a special box somewhere in your brain, so when things get hard again, this moment will remind you how easy life can be.
“I love you.”, you whisper softly, kissing his chest a few times before laying your head back down on it.
“I love you too, Y/n.” His voice is louder, clearer, like he never wants to hide those words from you, ever. “And I want this, forever. I know I have to move away soon for my job at another school, but we will make this work. I want to make this work. It’s just a two-hour drive, that’s practically nothing.”
You lift your head to look at Jake, admiring the soft glow of his skin. There is an ounce of doubt lingering in the air. You know that his move will complicate things for you. Visiting will be hard with Nuri having to go to school and you having to work every day, but there are always weekends. And if Jake believes that the two of you can make it work, then you will.
So, you nod your head, scooting up to leave a few kisses on his plump, puffy lips. “We can make this work. We will have to.”
-
The sun is shining brightly as you pull up to the school to pick Nuri up. Normally you would wait in the car until she walks out of the school, but since Nuri had an ‘end of the school’ project today, she wanted you to come in and take a look at what she made.
Life has been good, better than good, actually. Everything has been perfect. Jake had become a constant part of your lives, visiting a few times a week and taking the two of you out on trips. Nuri and Jake’s friends- well your friends as well now- have grown incredibly close. She doesn’t talk about anything else other than the boys and how fun it is to spend time with them. They have grown closer to you too, finding a weird kind of solace whenever you are around them.
Everything is the way you always wanted it to be. And sometimes you catch yourself thinking that everything is too perfect, that something is bound to happen any time soon to destroy the little perfect life you build yourself. But you never thought it would happen this soon.
As you walk inside the school, you search for the classroom where they exhibited the projects, stopping when you hear some voices not far from you. You know it’s rude to eavesdrop but when you hear your name in the conversation, you can’t help but to stop and listen.
“Yeah, apparently she and Jake are in a relationship.”
“What? Really? She is really trying to fuck herself to the top, isn’t she?”
“I mean we could have seen it coming, right? The way she always looked at him, like she wanted to eat him alive. It was concerning. It’s a real wonder he didn’t run away when he still could, but now she got him all under her claws.”
“I have known her since our daughters were in kindergarten, and she has always been like this. Whoring around and not caring about her daughter.”
“I mean I knew she was still young and immature, but that is shocking. First, she carelessly gets knocked up at seventeen and then instead of maturing she stays a naïve little girl who fucks her daughter’s teacher. If I were here, I would be embarrassed.”
“It’s no wonder she has no support from her parents anymore. I wouldn’t support my daughter if she were a disgrace to the family like she is.”
“I mean all that aside, I think she should take the time to mature first. She is still so young, not fit to be a mother. Maybe all she needs is a clear mind before she faces the hardships of life. Maybe no one taught her how to be an adult yet.”
“Are you defending her?”
“No, of course I am not. I’m just saying she needs a wake-up call. Something that will help her get all the horniness out of her mind and get her to take better care of her daughter.”
The world has stopped. You could feel it. The air feels heavier, time doesn’t go on anymore and all sounds went quiet. Everything has stopped, except for the thoughts in your head. A dark heavy cloud forms over your head, raining down on you with an intensity, you didn’t feel in a very long time.
Maybe you jinxed it. Maybe your constant worry of something ruining your perfect little life was the one thing that ruined it all together. You should have known it.
The worst thing is knowing that they are right, not with everything of course. You aren’t ready yet. There is so much you still need to learn, so many lessons you haven’t faced yet. You aren’t ready yet. You need to mature; become a proper adult and you really aren’t ready.
You noticed it a while ago, the lingering feeling in your chest whenever Jake was around, the nagging question in the back of your head. You noticed that there was a part of you- a part that grew stronger and stronger with time- that simply wasn’t ready for a relationship yet. And while whatever the women were saying was rude and uncalled for, they are right. They spoke out what you were too scared of admitting. They spoke out what you were too scared was going to ruin all the things you built up.
You can feel it now too, the pain consuming your heart, filling your lungs, and coursing through your veins. The tears filling your eyes, the stop stuck in your throat. But you can’t let it out, not here, not now. First, you have to be a mother. First, you have to look at Nuri’s project, tell her how proud you are of her and take her home to be the mother she deserves. Later, when she’s in bed, that’s when you can let it all out.
“Excuse me.”, you say, your voice surprisingly stable and strong. All four women turn around in a second, looking at you with wide eyes and open mouths. “I was searching for the classroom where they exhibit the school projects. Would you mind telling me where it is? I don’t want to get caught, what did you call it? Ah, yes, whoring around.”
A loud gasp leaves one of the mothers’ mouths and it takes all the strength in your body not to laugh out loud at their faces. One of the other women points in the direction of the classroom for you, gulping almost visibly as you show her a bright smile.
“Thank you so much.”, you say. As you walk past them, you stop, something nagging in the back of your head. “And don’t be jealous that my needs get satisfied every night, I bet your husbands will keep up eventually.”
-
You know that ignoring Jake’s calls wouldn’t be a good idea, but you didn’t think that he would turn up at your doorstep at 10 pm shortly before you were heading to bed.
You spent the past days thinking about your situation, about your relationship with Jake and your and Nuri’s future. Over and over again did you go through all the solutions in your head, trying to figure out what’s right for you, what you want. Because for once, just one time in your life, you have to think about yourself, what you need.
You thought that it wouldn’t take long for Jake to turn up at your doorstep, but seeing him standing in front of you, hair messy, cheeks tinted in a soft red and a worried look on his face, makes you want to change your mind all over again.
“Hey.”, he says, showing you a forced smile. “Are you okay? I was worried. You’ve been ignoring my calls. Did I do something wrong? Did I say something that hurt you? Because if I did then please tell me so I can make it up to you again. I swear the last thing I want is to lose you, but I can’t make it up to you if you don’t talk to me, if you don’t tell me what I did to make you shut me out.” There is an urgency in his voice, pain lingering in his words. You haven’t thought about what the past few days must have felt like for Jake, too caught up in your own head. He tried to call you multiple times and got disappointed every time you didn’t pick up yet again. It must have been torture for him not knowing if he did something wrong, not knowing the reason behind your sudden radio silence.
Looking at him like this, worried and distressed, tears fall down your face almost immediately. “Oh, baby.”, Jake softly coos. Carefully he takes a step towards you and as he notices that you make no move away from him, he pulls you into his arms, holding you tightly against his chest. “Please talk to me, Y/n. Please tell me what’s going on.”
You clear your throat, shakily wiping away the tears on your face. “I don’t want to hurt you, Jake. Please, you have to believe me that that is the last thing I ever want to do. I love you, so much. Sometimes it scares me just how much I do, but lately I’ve been realizing that I am not ready. I am not ready for this, not ready for a relationship. There is so much in my life that I need to fix, so much about myself that I need to fix. I still haven’t lived, you know? I don’t know what it is to actually live, to find myself, to know what I want and what I need. I have so much to learn. And I know that you would be by my side through whatever I am going through, supporting me and lending me a helping hand. But I realized that I need to do this alone. I need to fight through this on my own and grow from it. We are still so young, Jake, so much in our life can still happen and I don’t want you to get caught up in all of this. Especially since you’re moving away and starting a whole new chapter in your life.”
There is a beat of silence, a few seconds where everything is quiet. You only hear your own heart beating out of your chest. Jake wipes at his eyes, one, two times before he nods, slow and steady. “Okay.”, he whispers. Silence again. It’s like Jake is fighting with himself, having an inner conflict, he doesn’t want to share with you. He blows out a long breath, rubbing a hand over his face before looking back at you. His eyes red from the unshed tears.
“Okay, Y/n.”, he repeats again, blinking a few times. “Everything inside of myself is screaming for me to fight for you right now, to tell you that we can work this out and fix those things together. But I know you, and I know that once you made up your mind about something, no one can change that again.” He sighs another time, long and hard. “So, I will let you go. For now, at least. As you said, we are still young. This may be our end now, Y/n, but it won’t be our end forever. I will never give up on you. Someday, I will find you again. Someday, I will make you mine again.” Jake cups one of your cheeks in his hands, gently letting his thumb caress your soft skin. One small tear drops down his face, that is the only one he allows to escape, before he softly places a kiss on your lips. It is not a long kiss, not the type of kiss that leaves you breathless, yearning for more. It’s the type of kiss that is so soft, you wonder if it even happened after it’s over. It’s the type of kiss that rips you open from the inside, tears your heart out and leaves you bleeding out. It’s the type of kiss that makes you want to turn back time and fix all the mistakes you made in your life.
It's the type of kiss that makes you hope for a tomorrow, for a forever.
-
There is nothing you love more than a warm autumn day, watching the leaves fall down the trees, coloring the ground in bright orange and brown shades, or feeling the cold breeze in your hair. You love listening to the rustle of the trees, watching squirrels searching for nuts on the ground and tasting the fresh air on your tongue.
But what you love the most is sitting on a park bench, not one person in sight, with a book in your hand. It has become your favorite activity over the past few years. You read books like it is your job, finally having the time with Nuri almost being eleven years old. It became your little break from reality, something to look forward to on stressful days, something that would ease your mind.
Looking at the watch on your wrist, you realize that it’s almost time to pick Nuri up from her friends’ place, since you promised her to go visit uncle Sunghoon who lives a few streets from you. You put your book back into your bag, swinging it over your shoulder and standing up from where you were sitting to head to your car. But before you could even take one step, you stop in your tracks.
It's been years, you realize. Years since you’ve seen that familiar face. Years since you last hugged him, touched him, kissed him. Years since you heard his voice, seen his face. You almost can’t believe your eyes, thinking that your mind is playing a trick on you. But when you hear him speak for the first time, in what felt like forever, you know that this is real.
“Sunghoon told me I would find you hear.” He steps forward, not stopping until he is right in front of you. His wide, puppy like eyes, look down at you, lips pulled into a wide grin, as he takes the shock on your face. “Hey, Y/n.”
And that’s when it hits you. All the promises he made about not letting you go about making you his again. Now, years later, with everything different, he still intended on making all his promises come true. And you realize that it’s perfect. Right now, it’s perfect. Right now, you can start your forever.
“Hey, Jake.”
Bonus scene
You lean back in the chair on the front porch of the summer house you rented for you and the boys and watch the way Nuri teaches the other kids how to draw a butterfly with chalk. It’s a strange sight to see, Nuri all grown up, taking care of all the small little children. It makes a deep feeling of pride blossom in your chest, admiring just how far you have come.
“It’s crazy, isn’t it?”, Jake speaks up from the seat beside you. “Just how fast the time passes.”
You let your gaze wander to him, to his perfect face with his perfect eyes and perfect lips. He looks older now, more mature. But it is a good look on him. It suits you perfectly.
“It is.”, you say, letting out a soft side before leaning your back against Jakes chest, enjoying the feeling of being in his arms. “But I am so grateful for this. I am so grateful we get to watch the boys’ kids grow up. I am so grateful I get see Nuri so happy and content. And I am so happy I can be with you, Jake.”
“Forever?”, he asks, eyes looking deeply into yours and a soft smile, that is only dedicated to you.
“Forever.”, you answer his question, and you have never been more honest in your whole life.

LONGING
// park jay //
pairing: jay x best friend’s sister!femreader
word count- 3.3k
genre/cw- fluff, angst, profanity, 1 year age difference, realization, confessions, sneaking around, kissing, jay fell first and hard, party setting(for one part), jay is terrible with feelings, overprotective jay (ish), just two people in love
summary- Jay’s heart longed for his best friend’s sister
________________________________________________________
Jay doesn’t remember when he started longing for his best friend’s sister, all he remembered was the room lighting up like the sun the moment you walked into it.
That was when he knew, him and his heart would be in danger because of you so he resorted to a terrible method, ignoring you like the plague. Whenever you would appear when he was with your brother, he instantly change his dementor, not wanting to show the unknown hold you had on him.
He wasn’t cold but rather quiet and reserved, he would stop talking and let himself drown in the awkward silence as he and waited for you and your brother to stop talking. You of course took note in the sudden changes he had whenever he saw you and you wouldn’t deny that it hurt you.
You always found Jay to be one, if not the best of your brother’s friends and you had your curiosity on wanting to get to know him more. Even though he came to your house almost every day, you knew almost little to nothing about him and for some reason that bothered you.
“Hey Jay” You greeted when you saw him passing the living room, you could see the way he froze for a moment before turning around to face you, his face stoic as he looked at you
In that moment, you wanted to melt into a puddle feeling his piercing gaze on you, you unconsciously played your finger as you slowly moved your gaze from him to the ground. While, Jay on the other hand was losing every sense of reality as he tried to hold back from pouring his heart to you.
“Hi” Was all Jay was able to mutter before walking away to leave you and your dwelling thought about him all by yourself
You sighed deeply before slumping back onto the couch, you don’t know why you felt this burning curiosity for him in your heart but you never seemed to be able to get rid of it no matter how hard you tried.
Jay was messing and mixing your feelings and you began to realize that you couldn’t stop the inevitable anymore. You were bound to have your heart long for someone you know you can never have.
Now, Jay wanted to curse at himself the moment he returned to your brother’s room, how could he simply just say hi to you and not try to create a conversation with you? He felt conflicted, all he wanted was nothing more but to go back to you and be able to properly talk to you.
But he knew he couldn’t, you were his best friend’s sister and he already felt like the worst friend ever for falling for you.
“You want me to what?” Jay thought he was hearing things, your brother couldn’t possible be asking him to take you to the party they were currently getting ready for
“She doesn’t stop talking about wanting to attend a party, so I decided it’s better she has us with her instead of her being by herself” Your brother explained not realized the affect his words were having on Jay’s heart, he knew your brother had a point having the both of them there would be better than you being alone
“Does she know?” Before your brother could respond, you were already walking towards the living room where the two were unknowingly waiting for you
You smiled at your brother and Jay, and he almost fell backwards at the warm smile you gave him. You didn’t realize the backflips Jay’s heart was doing as he stared at you in absolute adoration. You could feel the gaze Jay had on you, but you rather not pry at it, not wanting to loose the little “progress” this may lead to.
Something in you felt like this party could be the change everything you once thought you knew but it must just be your mind messing with you.
You didn’t expect your first party to be this crowded, there were seas of people in multiple different spot seeming to have the time of their lives. Your brother and Jay stayed close to you as the three of your tried to navigate through the crowd.
You could feel yourself being pushed around here and there by people and you were growing annoyed, but what set you off was the shove from someone causing you to trip and fall backwards. But before you could crash to the ground, you felt someone catch you and you turned around to see Jay glaring at the person who bumped into you.
His hold on you was firm but not hurtful, feeling almost like he was guarding you. You couldn’t hear over the blaring music that soon faded into the background as you continued to look at Jay. You felt all fuzzy as you saw Jay talking to the person but you weren’t able to hear anything.
You felt warm all around and you felt the touch he had on you loosened. When he scoffed and shooed off the person before turning his gaze onto you, when the two of you made eye contact and he gave a comforting smile, you knew you were in trouble.
You felt a hard thump against your chest and this was the final warning that you now entering the undeniable longing for Jay you’ve hidden from everyone and even yourself.
You met the rest of your brother’s friend who were surprised to see you at the party but still greeted you happily.
But it was only a matter of time until they all left to enjoy the party some more. You decided to step out of the party, already growing tired. You were outside and decided to sit on the staircase to get some fresh air, you were already feeling the stuffy feeling leave your body as you breaths were even.
You let out a shiver when the cool night breeze swayed by, you wrapped your arms around yourself to get rid of the goosebumps but suddenly you felt a jacket drape over you. You looked up to see Jay, smiling at you once again before taking a seat next to you on the staircase.
“Are you okay?” The same thumping against your chest made you feel nervous, you gulped down and looked away from him, afraid he could hear the beating of your heart
“Yeah, I’m fine. Just a little tired” You muttered, you unconsciously brought his jacket closer to you when you felt another cold breeze come by
Jay on the hand other noticed this and he felt his heart swoon at your action. No matter how hard he tried to not lose himself in the abyss of you, it never worked. Little by little, he was falling more and more for you and he was starting to realize he can’t hold back on his feelings anymore.
He has to accept the longing that you left lingering in his heart.
“You want to leave?” His voice was soft and warm and you could feel your lips threatening to rise, what was he doing to you?
“No it’s fine, I don’t want to bother” You waved him off but he only shook his head
“No of course, let’s go” He stood up before dusting off his clothes and reaching out a hand for you to grab onto, you looked to him and he gave the same comforting smile that you were slowly growing to adore
“What about my brother?”
“He can find another ride”
After that day, something shifted between you and Jay. Whenever you greeted him, he would happily greet you back and you beyond happy to see him finally warming up to you.
As for Jay, he was losing the war he put himself through trying to not fall even more for you. The way you seemed so happy to see him no longer distancing himself like you were a plague just made his heart swoon.
He noticed the way your eyes was intrigued with whatever he was saying whether it was nonsense or not. He noticed your soft smiled at him whenever you saw him.
How could he not fall for his best friend’s sister when it was you?
You and him finally had proper conversations and you found yourself enjoying the company you’ve been longing for from Jay. You didn’t know that he was genuinely comforting, that he had a heart that was purely kind.
Before you knew it, the longing feeling only worsen. You found your heart pounding against your chest whenever Jay was nearby, you always found your gaze shifting onto him while a smile plastered on your face.
You were falling for Jay and you were fearful of this realization.
“Where’s my brother?” You asked Jay when you walked into the living to find him on the couch, he immediately paused what he was watching to give you his full attention and you noticed this, you felt your heart drop
“Stepped out for a moment, he’ll be back soon” You nodded your head before you planted yourself next to him on the couch
“Mind if I join you?” You could hear his chuckle and it made you softly smile to yourself
“You know I never mind” When the words settled into your mind, your face shifted into a confused one and Jay took notice of this
“What’s wrong?”
“Nothing”
“Come on what’s wrong? You know you can talk to me” Jay shifted his whole body towards you, his hands almost reaching out to grab yours but stopped himself
With the little time you and Jay have gotten closer with each other, it was felt you and him were best friends instead of him and your brother. But every time he feels the hard thump in his chest is reminded that his heart longed for you.
And you couldn’t push down the feelings you’ve been trying to hide any longer. You don’t know when was the next time you’ll have the opportunity to tell Jay how you felt, so you decided it’s go big or go home.
“How come you weren’t like this before?” Jay tilted his head in confusion at your words
“You used to ignore me like I never existed but after the party I suddenly exist to you? I know I shouldn’t get frustrated over this but it’s hard not to”
“I tried to show that I wanted to get to know you more but you only pushed me aside as your best friend’s sister and ignored me like nothing”
“It was frustrating because I truly wanted to get to know you more than just my brother’s best friend, I wanted to get to know who you were”
“Jay, I like you”
“I’ll understand if you don’t feel the same way, I just wanted to let you know so that I could move on”
His world stopped in that moment, he heard the muffling of your voice as you tried to get his attention, his gaze zeroed in on you like you were the only to ever exist. Jay had longed for this for years.
“No, please don’t move on”
“I like you too, I like you so much that I don’t know how my heart can handle my emotions for you any longer”
“Everytime I see you, my day automatically gets better whether it was already good or going terribly. You’re like a sun in my life that I never want to get rid of. I want to experience the sunshine all the time, if it’s you”
“I like you so much that you have no idea”
“So please don’t get over me” Jay’s ramble of a confession was all you needed to launch your arms around him into a tight hug
Jay was taken aback first, his mind not being able to catch up with reality but soon when he felt your whisper against his ears, he knew it was real. He wrapped his arms around you and held you tight.
“I really didn’t want to get over you, I really like you so much but I think it would’ve been impossible for me to even do” You muttered against the hug and you feel Jay’s smile radiating off of him, you tighten your hold on him as he did the same
“Don’t worry you never have to get over me. I fell just as hard as you fell for me” You softly played with the back of his hair and Jay couldn’t ask to be in a better position, if he could be would stay in this moment for forever
When he pulled away from the hug, he looked at you with a smile and you let yourself naturally be drawn to him, you brought your face closer to his while he met you halfway. You could feel your breaths meeting each to other, you looked up to meet his eyes and they were inviting you in.
You smiled to yourself before softly placing your lips on his, Jay hummed happily as he kissed you back. He felt this was all he ever needed in his life, this what he waited so long for.
The kiss felt like this was always meant to happen. You and Jay were meant to fall for each other regardless of you being his best friend’s sister.
Now it wasn’t ideal having to maneuver around Jay’s best fiend, your brother in order to not get caught but it’s what the two of you needed to get done. Whenever your brother looked away, Jay would be quick to place a soft kiss against your cheek and giving you a smile before acting like nothing ever happened.
You had to remain your composure whenever your brother brought his attention back to the two of you, but it was hard. You knew your brother wasn’t strict or overprotective over you but you were fearful how he would feel if he found out his best friend and you were dating behind his back.
The secrecy that you and Jay were able to withstand for a few months from everyone was outstanding. Jay and you always planned dates when you knew your brother would be busy, but even when he unexpectedly tags along it doesn’t affect neither of you that much.
Jay would still hold your hand whenever he could even if it was only for a second, it was better than nothing for him. Whenever your brother was distracted, Jay would whisper sweet nothings into your ears as he placed kisses on the side of your face.
You tried to suppress your giggle and smiles but it was hard when your brother would turn around to pull Jay away from your side. He would flash you an apologetic smile before listening to what your brother had to say to him.
Yet, he never paid attention. Jay’s attention and mind was always solely on you as if you were the only to ever exist, which to him you were.
Jay was over your house once again, you sat next to him on the couch while your brother sat on the floor glued to watching the movie that was put on.
Behind him, you and Jay were softly smiling as you both held hands out of your brother’s sight. You placed a soft peck on Jay’s cheek and he smiled before looking at you, he tried to distinctively move closer to you without your brother noticing.
When he was successful, he wrapped an arm around you. The moment was perfect, you and Jay looked into each other’s eyes, he felt the same thump in his heart that he’s had ever since you walked into the room, lighting up his world.
Jay leaned in to place a kiss onto your lips which you happily reciprocated. He knew it was risky when your brother was right there, but he couldn’t help it anymore. He was growing reckless in wanting to show his relationship with you.
Jay just wanted to show the whole world how much he loved you.
“Can you two tone down the lovey dovey stuff? Unlike you, there’s someone that wants to watch the movie”
Your brother’s words caused you and Jay to slowly separate from each other and turning your head to your brother whose gaze had not moved an inch from the tv.
Your eyes widen with horror in the realization that your brother had found out about you and Jay but you soon grew confused of his nonchalant attitude towards it.
“What did you say?” Jay’s words were soft, afraid of awakening something he shouldn’t, his best friend groaned before pausing the movie and turning around to face you and Jay who still yet needed to separate from each other
“I said tone down lovey dovey stuff, I’m trying to watch a movie”
“How did you know?” You now entered the conversation, only to have your brother roll his eyes before pointing to Jay’s arm that is still wrapped around you
“You two aren’t exactly good at hiding it”
Your brother had known for quite sometime but decided to not pry on the relationship, if the two of you weren’t ready to tell him who was he to push you both to out your relationship.
He’s your brother and Jay’s best friend, he trusted the both of you with his life and he knew that there was a good reason why you two were “hiding” the relationship from him.
Now he wasn’t annoyed about the relationship the two of you had, he was more annoyed with the fact that you and Jay couldn’t seem to get enough of each other.
He just wanted to the movie in peace and not have to hear your soft suppressed giggled as you and Jay tried to be as secretive as you can.
“Look I don’t care if the two of you are dating each other, I’m not here to stop you for liking who you like or who you wish to date”
“But I will say this as her brother, you better not hurt her, she is my sister at the end of day regardless if you’re my best friend or she’s your girlfriend”
“I will never forgive you, if you make her upset so you keep her happy okay?” Your brother warned his best friend, which caused you to chuckle at his words that received a glare from Jay and your brother
“I promise to always make her happy” Jay promised to your brother who happily nodded his head, pleased with the answer, he simply wanted the best for you and Jay
Now Jay truly expected it to be more awkward having to tell you brother that he was dating you but to see that your brother didn’t care as along as he made you happy was more than enough for him to shower your face with kisses.
Your brother groaned and looked away from the scene to play the paused movie, trying to ignore the smile on his face as he heard the soft chuckles and giggles coming from behind him.
Jay loved you for as long as he could remember so he was beyond happy to know that he could finally be yours without having to hold back. He was finally able to get rid of the longing piece that resided in him because of you.
Now you and Jay made each other happy, with the piece of longing for each other now fading away only to be replaced with a new emotion, love for each other.
“Oh I’m glad my heart longed for you”

Spring Break, 2019
You counted down the amount of days it would be until you turned 17.
17 was the golden age—Or at least it was supposed to be. But the thrill of turning a new age was over by the next 15 minutes. Your big smile that had originally been processing the newfound year of your life slowly dropped, as your age didn’t really matter much to anyone else than your mom or dad.
17 was when you first realized that people didn’t really care as much as you thought they did. No one would care if your hair was slightly frizzy and tangled from the light wash of rain or the fact that you enjoy reading and writing poetry.
You realized no one cared, but it was hard to stop believing it.
So, you brought a hairbrush around, or quickly hid your journal and pen anytime someone got close to you.
You’re still 17. And you still felt like how you felt 15 minutes after midnight. You felt dull. Washed-out. And the rainy season hasn't helped enlighten your mood at all.
You decided to take an impulsive day trip south, to the buzzing city of Seattle, and also wanting to take a break from everyone and the life you knew. You rushed to the subway, the tote bag that hung on your shoulder had collided with your body every step you took.
You stand right in front of the entrance, scanning the cart to see one empty seat. Sitting down, you address your surroundings, trying to read if maybe it would be a better idea to stand.
Next to you was a man around your age. Silently reading a book with a familiar cover. Staring at the book longer than you realize, you can see the man next to you no longer focused on the book, but you.
“Oh—I’m so sorry! I didn’t mean to be staring, I just recognized the book, Lee Jieun right?”
You almost dreamily sigh every time she’s mentioned. Lee Jieun had been your favorite author for longer than you can remember, one of your favorites by her being the one the unnamed man happened to have been reading.
“Do you know her?” He asks.
Looking up at you he jerks his head to the left, his light brown hair moves out of his eyes revealing his full face. You almost forget to answer the question, busy goggling at the sight of him. His eyes laid in yours, awaiting your answer patiently.
“Yeah, I-um she’s one of my favorites actually.”
His eyes subtly check you out, you quickly realize how stupid you must’ve looked with the amount of frizz in your hair from the light drizzle outside. Slowly but not too obviously, you bring your hands up, brushing through whatever you could. Explaining to the man that the book he was reading was one of your favorite poem books. Accidently sharing that you look up to her poems and hope to have the ability to write and share your writing as inspiration for others.
He listens intently, before asking, “You write?”
Your ears grow warm as you answer every question he asks. An unusual thing that happens to you. The conversation grows into each other's lives. And you feel as if you know every part of him as he continues to talk.
Park Jongseong is his name but his English name is Jay. His favorite color is green. He likes fashion and cooking. He enjoys autumn and poetry as much as you do. He’s allergic to cats—which is a shame considering the amount of cat hair over your bag that you discreetly try to brush off while he’s talking. His favorite ice cream flavor is Pistachio and he’s not a huge fan of mint chocolate.
You’d usually argue that mint chocolate is the perfect flavor for a hot summer day but you keep quiet, just this once.
Something must’ve snuck into your brain and rewired it because you don’t seem to mind him knowing that you write. In fact you even offer to let him see your works. He reads each word intently, as if it was the most shocking news of the year.
His favorite is the one you spent the most time on. But it didn't feel as if it was your best work. You didn’t keep quiet about that fact, you hesitated to even let him read that page, but the one line seemed to have piqued his interest. Almost as if his eyes had been glued onto the small stanza.
Together we’re complete
Our perfect harmony
is truly beautiful.
You were always one to believe in soulmates, or finding someone that perfectly fit next to you. Like the final piece to your complicated puzzle. Your belief often appeared in your writings. Hoping that maybe one day, you’ll meet the missing piece from your board. That day hadn’t come yet. But you were counting down the days just as if you were about to turn 17 again.
“I like that line. What does it mean?” He asks.
“I don’t know, it just sounded right.”
That’s a lie. You know exactly what it means to you. But even as comfortable as you had felt with Jongseong. It was something too personal to share.
If you could name anyone who was the biggest sucker for romance you would name yourself. But it’s been 17 years, and you don’t even think that it was a possible option for you. Sure, you hoped to find your soulmate. But your soulmate could’ve easily been a truly platonic one. And you were losing hope for any romance coming your way. Writing about romance made you feel as if the small ball of hope was still there, and you just had to wait for the right time.
Those 17 years had told you that you couldn’t be loved. No matter how hard you tried, or even begged. This epiphany randomly hit you in the middle of buzzing parties or small group hangouts, the thought of nobody ever loving, let alone liking you constantly consumed you. Constantly bringing down your mood. That’s why you’re so fond of the idea of soulmates. Because soulmates are perfectly perfect together, and that's ensured by the universe.
He lets out a chuckle, with an understanding nod. Skimming through the small notebook you handed him.
“Why are you heading to Seattle?” You ask as he finishes, placing the notebook neatly in your bag. His mouth parts slightly, carefully choosing what to say. “I’m just taking a day trip, wanted to go explore alone.”
A small smile breaks out of you. “Would you want to travel around Seattle together?”
Jongseong lets your smile grow onto his lips, accepting your bold offer.
The conversation ends and he reopens his book, continuing the page he was on. The ride still had at least thirty minutes to go, and you didn’t want to use all your phone battery now.
You glance over to his book, cursing at yourself for forgetting to bring something to do other than play the stupid games on your phone. He silently reads as your head moves to his shoulder, laying it down and reading with him. You can feel him flinch ever so slightly, his shoulders relax before he moves the book over to the middle of you two, not uttering a word while doing so.
“Thank you,” Your voice is barely above a whisper, and you’re not sure if he even heard it until he responds.
After around 45 minutes the subway comes to a stop and you tap Jongseong, pointing at the moving text on the sign to show you that you’re at your destination. He hastily picks up his stuff, grabbing your hand and walking out the doors.
“Where do we go?” You ask, looking around for any sort of sign that states the direction.
“Just follow me, I've been here a few times.” His warm hand leads you through the busy people trying to get in, pushing through the loads of people heading towards the small amount of doors in the cart. Jongseong looks back every so often, making sure the hand he’s holding isn’t a ghost. Your eyes lock, and you show him a small smile of appreciation. He smiles back, raising his eyebrows before turning back around, leading you through the clusters.
Finally, you walk up the stairs, stepping into the daylight. Still hand in hand, you use your off hand to cover your eyes from the shade. “Didn’t think it would be so sunny after all the rain this month,” You squint at the bright sky, looking over to Jongseong. He’s rummaging through his bag, pulling out a small box, opening it to reveal sunglasses. You chuckle at how prepared he is, until he places the sunglasses on you.
Your stomach erupts in butterflies as your mouth parts slightly, a smile grows on his face. “Oh no, keep them. I don’t need them” You hastily take off the sunglasses, handing them to him. He takes them, putting them back on you. You’re about to protest when he says. “Stop—just take them. I want you to wear them,” He mumbles.
You smile at him, “Thank you Seong.” The nickname comes out naturally, like you’ve known him for years. He smiles, looking away to hide the growing redness of his cheeks. You let out a breathy laugh, covering the bottom half of your face to hide the flustered state you’re in.
“Where do you wanna go?” He asks with a shy smile still planted on his face. You shrug, answering, “I have no idea. Do you have any ideas?”
His smile becomes less shy and somehow forms into a slight smirk “I have an idea.” his hands encase yours once again, and he whisks you two off to the unknown direction.
The walk is around twenty minutes, but it goes by quickly. While you two are racing to see who can hit the crosswalk button, you notice the crowds of people around the big red letters stating, “Seattle’s Farmers Market.”
You squeal, a hand coming up to cover your mouth. “I’ve always wanted to go here! You’re like a mindreader, Seong.”
With his other hand he pinches your cheek, squeezing your hand and leading you to the entrance. The growing crowd of the market pushes you to bump into each other every so often, you both laugh it off, placing your attention to whatever shop you’re checking out.
Coming across a tropical fruits stand, you start looking around, picking up a tray every so often. Not realizing the missing warmth from your hand, you scan the selection of fruits. Picking up a Rambutan, you move the tray around, trying to see if the fruit will be worth the price. You’re eye level with the fruit until you feel a tap on your shoulder.
You whirl around, to see Jongseong. A big grin planted on his face as he revealed why he’s smiling so much. A bouquet of tulips, wrapping in brown paper with twine wrapped around it waiting for you to take. But you’re frozen—Did he really just buy flowers for you?
He thrusts his hands out towards you, gesturing for you to take them. You let out a giggle, taking the brown wrapped plants out of his hands. “Gosh you’re so sweet. What did I do to deserve all of this?” You ask, the corners of your mouth slowly upturn when you look at the flowers, admiring the arrangement of light pink tulips. “Can’t I spoil you?” He responds smoothly, not letting you respond before linking your arms and heading to the next stalls.
Passing—What felt like hundreds of stalls, your feet started to cramp up. Both of you decide to take a break and sit down, finding a cafe nearby. You order for the both of you and pay—Which he strongly protests but you feel too bad for him spending too much money on you. Sitting down you let out a sigh, finally letting your feet take the much needed rest.
You two make small talk, talking about your favorite shops or something you wish you had bought. When the barista calls out your name you shoot out of your seat, exchanging a glance with Jongseong before walking over, thanking the lady and grabbing your drinks.
A wave of comfortable silence washes over you two as you try your drinks, glancing out the huge window by your table. You watch as families, couples, or just one person pass by that window. Trying to figure out something about them as they quickly pass by.
After an hour of quiet conversations of whatever intrigues you, you decide to leave the cafe. Dinner time was approaching and you wanted to beat the rush. Surprisingly, you both quickly decide on a restaurant to go to, a nice restaurant that perfectly suited your cravings. During dinner you exchange numbers, not being able to wait for the next time you’ll see each other.
The sun starts setting when you both decide to go home, walking to the subway station hand in hand. Paying for your fare you both head on the subway, sitting down next to each other. A yawn washes over you, laying your head back and closing your eyes—It’s not like you’ll fall asleep right?
It’s a shame that you did fall asleep. You feel yourself being gently shaken awake by Jongseong. You lift your head up from his shoulder, looking around the subway.
“Your stop is the next one. Can’t have you half asleep walking home.” He chuckles, you rub your eyes. Trying your best to stretch with the little space you have. “Thank you Seong.” You yawn, letting out a small smile.
He nods, inviting the smile from your face onto his. The subway comes to a stop once again and you look at him with a slight sadness. Planting a chaste kiss on his cheek you let out, “I had fun today, Seong. Let’s do it some time again, yeah?”
“Okay,” He says, smiling. “Text me when you get home okay?” You salute him, walking away with a lovesick smile on your face.
Jongseong holds the same one, still feeling the linger of your kiss on his cheek. He lets his hand touch his cheek, embarrassed by the amount of warmth that flooded his cheeks.
Spring, 2021
It had been around a year and a little over a half since the two of you had even talked.
You don’t know if he got a new number or randomly ghosted you. Even though you had met a bunch of times after, it seemed like he realized that he didn’t like you as much as you thought he did.
You should’ve expected it, I mean—It’s not like anybody could like you that much.
Sighing, you open the messaging app. Typing something in his chat before deleting it. Scrolling up to your old messages.
You hated the fact that you missed him even though you never even dated. You hated the fact that you thought you could be something more than just a failed situationship. You hated the fact that you thought someone could prove you wrong and that someone could love you.
But, of course. All good things came to an end. And what seemed to be like the only good thing in your life, completely ghosted you. You like to believe that he got a new number and forgot to tell you, or lost his phone and had to get a new sim card. But it still hurt.
So, everytime you thought of him, you reopened those messages, trying to reiterate the happiness you felt while texting him.
Looking down to the bottom of your phone you see the empty textbox, mocking you for opening the chat once again. You decide, What’s the harm in messaging him? Maybe he just missed your last few. Clicking on the textbox you type slowly, carefully thinking about your words before sending it.
hey, are you still there? didn’t take you for the type who ghosts girls
You sigh, deleting the text quickly. Looking over to see the ungodly hour of the night displayed on your clock you place your phone down, tucking yourself nicely under the blanket, praying to every god that maybe, he’s okay.
Autumn, 2022
“Have you heard Enhypens recent album? It’s so good!” Hanni exclaims, changing the music playing in the background to listen to the album.
“This is like a few months old, but anyways—Shout out is the best song ever, you should play that song.” Minji answers. They both look at you, asking for your opinion. “Who’s Enhypen?” You ask, eyebrows furrowing as you look up from your phone.
Minji scoffs, “My seven boyfriends. Listen to this song! Isn’t it so good?”
You listened to the background, bopping your head to the upbeat guitar in the instrumental. The lyrics were sweet, and meaningful. Even though you quit poetry, words still had lot’s of meaning for you, and you loved when they found significance in songs. One guy’s voice sounds so vaguely familiar, you brush it off. You probably just saw a clip of him singing a while back and didn’t remember. Getting to the second verse you pay much attention to the lyrics. Your jaw drops hearing one of the lines.
“What’d he just say? Can you rewind a few seconds Hanni?” You ask and she shrugs, opening her phone to go back a few seconds.
Listening to the same verse again you hear those awfully familiar lyrics.
Our perfect harmony
Is truly beautiful
You know those words like the back of your hand. You wrote these exact words in a poem two or three years ago. Could this be a coincidence? Probably, right? You’re too consumed in your own thoughts to hear both of the echoes of your name, following with Hanni asking why.
Slowly pulling out your phone, you quickly search “Enhypen” into the bar. Looking at the members you scan the faces. Looking at them all you see—
Jay.
That’s Jongseong.
No way, it can’t be. Clicking on his link you’re met with a collage of images. Your body seems to be moving faster than your mind because immediately you scroll down to read the small box of information about him. Oh and of course his name is Park Jongseong too but that's a coincidence, right? Switching apps, you open a selfie you and Seong took on one of your few dates.
You feel as if your eyes will shoot out of your brain, blurting out “I know him.”
Minji and Hanni both exchange weird looks, “You know who? Enhypen? Letting out a hesitant nod, they both rush over to see Jongseong’s information box on your screen. Switching apps to show them the selfie, then each side by side. “Y/n, you know Jay? As in Enhypen’s Jay?” Hanni gives you a bewildered look. You turn your head up to see Minju sharing the same one. Blinking profusely, you try to figure out how this is even possible.
“Yes! Remember the guy who ghosted me like two years ago? That’s him!” You exclaim, aggressively pointing to a picture of him. Minji’s mouth opens, forming an “o”. You all sit in silence processing this information.
Breaking the silence, Minji scoffs, “You’re telling me you had a situationship with Jay Park?
Another long silence follows, you all try to process the fact that the one you deemed as “the one who got away” was globally famous. Maybe he realized his worth, and left you. Maybe, he didn’t bother contacting you because he secretly disliked you. Or maybe he—
“Y/n, he’s coming to Seattle.”
You whip your head to the incoming voice. Instead of seeing a face, you see a phone, straight in front of you listing tour dates. You grab a hold of the phone, making sure you read the words right. “Seattle, Washington. 9/28.”
“They’re coming in a week?” You exclaim, eyes not leaving the phone for a second. Hanni rushes over and you all huddle around the phone. Your breath quickens as you process even more information. And you felt like your brain was about to explode, he would be. in city? in a week?
Hanni practically screams, shaking your shoulders harshly. She seems much more excited than you did, blabbering about how you would reunite and fall in love again. Rolling your eyes, you hand Minji back her phone. You start to question every life decision you had made in the past three years. Would he even remember you? What if it’s a different Jongseong who just happened to have the same name and look exactly like the Seong you once knew? Would you even run into him for the few days he’s there?
These thoughts circle in your brain as you lay down in bed. You thought you were over him—you weren’t even anything to begin with. Maybe it's the quickening beat of your heart to the thought of him , or the smile you hold in whenever you look back at your texts, or maybe even the loneliness you felt after him that keeps you going.
Autumn, 2022
The light breeze engulfs your body. Even though the sun seems to be blinding everywhere it’s still as chilly as ever. Looking at everyone’s outfits on the sidewalk you realize how stupid you look. Fully clothes but with sunglasses covering your eyes. Was it a necessary choice? No—but you realized that after you had left the house. It didn’t matter anyways, you could just take them off (you weren’t but it was still an option).
Taking your lunch break you walk to the cafe around the corner from your building. Recognizing the cafe as one you visited a few years ago. You ordered the same drink you did three years ago—also ordering a sandwich to eat. You sit down at a table two tables away from the one you once sat at. Placing down your sunglasses you glance around the cafe while waiting for your food.
Noticing a man in a baseball hat and a mask, you squint trying to see his face. Giving up seconds later and observing someone else. Eyes latching onto the pretty barista making your order. Watching as she quickly makes your sandwich and starts on your drink, not wasting a second to spare.
“I think those sunglasses are mine?” The masked man comes up to you, taking off his baseball cap. You get a better view of his eyes, recognizing the crinkle of his eyes when he smiles.
“Jay?” It’s barely above a whisper, but he still hears it.
He pulls down his mask, showing the face you once knew three years ago, but much more mature now. “Y/n, can we talk?” He sounds nervous, almost jittery. Constantly looking around at the strangers walking by.
“Yeah, of course.” The light tone of your voice calms him down every so slightly, sitting down in front of you with a lopsided smile.
Never in your life would you have thought you’d meet a celebrity that actually wanted to talk to you, And never in your life would you expect it to be him. Seong—Your Seong, sitting in front of you, carefully selecting every word he utters to you. The one who always knew what to say, can’t seem to get the right words out.

∿ ⊹ 𝗯𝘂𝗯𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗴𝘂𝗺 ⊹ ᴖ ᴈ ᴖ
includes: fluff, suggestive, established relationship, 400 words

“Hey sweet cheeks you got gum?” Heeseung says, wiggling his brows as you blow a bubble.
Your infamous teasing flirtatious boyfriend. Lee Heeseung. The amount of times a day he teased you or reduced you to a stuttering mess always has him cheeky, or feeding his ego.
You’d always try to give him a taste of his own medicine. Keyword try, yet it’d always end up backfiring some way. Leaving Heeseung laughing and trying to kiss away the pout on your face.
However today.
Today would be the day your plan would finally work. At least you hoped it would.
Sucking the gum back in your mouth you grin slightly.
“No this piece was the last one.” You scroll on your phone, he pouts sitting down on the couch next to you. He’s about to get comfortable but your taps against his shoulder stops him.
“Yes?” He looks up at you and you ask him to sit up. He does although he’s a little confused.
He’s already a little taken aback when you move closer to him, your hand coming to rest softly in his cheek. You never really were the one to initiate anything so he’s a little puzzled. His smirk rises to his face, and he’s pulling you closer. Yet your kiss makes him melt, all of his want for control dissipating.
Your lips are soft against his but the kiss has a certain force to it, causing him to gasp in surprise. You immediately let your tongue move against his. The taste of bubblegum now littering his mouth. He sighs in the kiss, letting you rest against him as you kiss him passionately.
Before you can pull away you made sure your gum was in his mouth. When you did, Heeseung whined. You pulled away to fast for his liking that he chased your lips, a pretty pout on his lips.
Not being able to resist, you leave a quick peck and get off the couch. Heeseung’s lips are plump and red and he’s breathless. You smirk at his dazed state and you walk over, grabbing your packet of gum.
You pop another one in your mouth and all he can do is stare at your dumbfounded.
“I-I thought you said this was your last one.” He stutters, pointing at his mouth. You shrug sitting back next to him.
“I guess there was still one more.” You smirk and he chews the gum slowly, his cheeks beat red.
Maybe in the end Heeseung still won since you kissed him or at least that’s how he’d see it.
But finally he got the taste of his own medicine.
But he also got the taste of your bubble gum.

𖤐 𓈒࣪ ᭡ ˖ one. 𝙞 𝙢𝙚𝙚𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪 . . . 𖦹︎ ִֶָ ࣪ ៹
“SORRY, EXCUSE ME! COMING THROUGH!”
You stumbled across the ice rink like a newborn fawn, following no clear path, relying solely on your waving arms to keep you upright. Skaters passing by gave you a wide berth as you sped forward. Children watched as you flew by.
You should have expected that you’d eventually ram straight into someone. You just weren’t expecting it to be him of all people.
“Ow...” you winced as you lifted your back off the ice. When you spotted a boy across from you, you gasped and immediately got up (or, at least, as fast as you could with your level of skill, anyway). “Oh my gosh, I’m so sorry! Are you okay?”
The boy barely looked affected, as if he was used to the sensation of falling. “I’m fine,” he responded quietly, before standing. It was like he didn’t just have a fully-grown teenaged girl slam into him.
It was that moment you got a good look at his face.
Park Sunghoon, the so-called ‘Ice Prince’ of Hybe High.
He had a… reputation, one could say. With a face that seemed carved from marble and an aura that left one guessing, it was no wonder why he had so many girls pining after him. Paired with his status as an accomplished athlete—a figure skater at that—it didn’t take a genius to know how he had earned his title.
Except, things weren’t usual all that simple, were they?
Park Sunghoon was an ‘Ice Prince’ in every definition of the word: not only did he reign supreme on the rink, he also had a knack for driving people away with his cold stare and even colder tone of voice. (Or so, the rumours went.)
It was just your luck, you supposed, that you had to bump into him.
He won’t be mad, would he? You fretted.
But to your surprise, he was just the opposite.
Instead of telling you to “Get lost” (okay, you had to admit you only had your mangas to blame for this expectation) or to “Watch where you’re going” (again— the mangas), he actually held out a hand to you.
“Are you okay?”
In that moment, you were glad you were on the ground, because there was no way you like stay upright if Park Sunghoon looked at you the way he was now while standing.
You were already hyper aware of his physical attractiveness after seeing him from school. But those minor glimpses you’d get of him during class (when he wasn’t absent for figure skating training) or from across the hall did no justice to his face up close.
As he looked down at you, eyes full of concern, and a ray of light shining down on him, you couldn’t tell if he was real or—as cliche as it sounded—an Angel from above.
Oh, have mercy on my soul, you thought. You hesitantly reached out to accept his outstretched hand— and, wow, how was it that his hands were just as beautiful as his face?
As he gently lifted you from the floor—no, really, he had basically pulled you up with his strength alone—you felt your cheeks heat up, despite the cold of your surroundings.
“Are you okay?” he asked, his tone of voice nothing like what you’d heard from your gossiping classmates.
“Yeah, I’m okay!” you squeaked.
In your embarrassment, you quickly tried to pull your hand away from his. But just as you did, you faltered and almost planted on your butt… again. Out of reflex, you immediately reached out to the closest thing to you.
And of course, at that moment, the closest thing happened to be one Park Sunghoon.
You didn’t know what was more surprising: that he actually let you hold on to him, or the fact that he put an arm around your waist to stabilise you. Just like that, the two of you remained staring at each other. The world around you was full of movement and chaos, but in that moment everything came to a stand still.
You felt heat bloom in your cheeks.
That’s it, you thought. I’m dead. He’s killed me.
Sunghoon’s ears started to redden at the tips as you continued to stare at each other. After a moment, he awkwardly removed his arm—though not too fast that you would topple down—and scratched the back of his neck.
“Ah…” Sunghoon chuckled shyly. “Sorry about that.”
He offered you a smile.
His resting face was a sight in itself. But the sight of his smile, the small dimple that it revealed, and small fangs that peeled out from his mouth, had your heart spiralling out of control. If your classmates saw him now, there was no way they could call him cold. (And no way they would be able to resist him.)
“I should be the one apologising…” you giggled. “Or rather, I should be thanking you, I guess— you saved me from potentially embarrassing myself more than I already have. I guess skating isn’t really my thing.”
Before Sunghoon could say anything you smiled at him. “But you’re really good. I’ve seen you quite a few times.”
It was about a month ago: your younger sibling decided that they wanted to take up ice hockey, and joined the local club. Since your parents were busy during some of their practices, you ended up chaperoning them. Simple enough, but boring.
Until you witnessed something magical.
You happened to look over to the side, just in time to catch a skater launch into the air. You watched in awe as the skater spun mid-air, before landing elegantly in the ice below— leg extended backwards, gliding like a swan across a lake.
You were definitely oversharing at this point, but you had already shared an awkward moment together. What was another on top of it?
You were half expecting Sunghoon to seem weirded out by your confession. But in fact, he didn’t seem surprised at all.
“I know,” he replied.
You blinked at him. “Sorry?”
As it turned out, you weren’t as slick as you thought.
Apparently, Sunghoon had known for a while no that you were an avid fan of his, and knew who you were as a result. But you couldn’t really find it in you to complain, seeing as it brought you closer to the boy. Who would have known that you would end up drinking hot chocolate with the Ice Prince Park Sunghoon as if you were best buddies.
“You know, it’s kind of funny how this is our first time talking despite knowing each other for so long.”
You had been attending the same school together for a year, and had quite a few classes together. But you’d never even uttered a hello to each other before. Now, here you were.
Sunghoon chuckled shyly. You decided right then and there that you would never grow tired of seeing his smile—the dimples, fangs, and all.
“I’m not a very social person,” he admitted, looking down at his lap. His ears were flushed red, his fingers tapping against the styrofoam cup that held his hot chocolate. “I’ve never been good at making friends… especially with girls.”
To say you were surprised at the confession was an understatement. There was no way you’d imagine that Park Sunghoon of all people—who people would say was as cold as the ice he skated on—was just… well, shy!
“Wow, really? That’s a surprise…” you took a sip from your hot chocolate.
Sunghoon hummed. “It probably would be to someone like you… You’re so social and you get along with everyone. You have so many friends…”
You raised your eyebrows. Were you dreaming or did Sunghoon say that with a twinge of envy? Him? Envy you? That was a completely foreign thought. (There was also the fact that he somehow observed you enough to know you were a social butterfly who got along with everyone— but that didn’t bother dwelling on that fact for too long.)
“Well, you’re not bad at making friends either,” you assured the boy, patting his shoulder. “I mean you managed to talk to me, right?”
Sunghoon blinked. “I guess you’re right...” He turned to you with a shy smile. “But you’re pretty easy to talk to, so that’s probably why.”
“So, you’re saying I don’t count, huh?” You asked teasingly.
Sunghoon shook his head. “No! That’s not what I meant…”
You laughed. “Don’t worry, I know what you mean.” You took another sip of your hot chocolate before looking at him. “In that case, why don’t we just make it official?”
Sunghoon cocked his head in confusion. “What do you mean?”
You smiled.
“Let’s be friends.”

ONE DAY, IN A STRETCH OF BOREDOM, YOU QUICKLY PULL OUT YOUR PHONE TO SEARCH FOR SUNGHOON’S CONTACT.
Perhaps you were coming off a little strong, considering you two have only been friends with each other a week by now. But you really couldn’t help yourself. Something about him was so endearing to you. Especially when he made that confession the
You flopped onto your bed and opened up your messages.
You: hey!!! how are you going?? hope you’re doing okay! You: but anyway! just wanted to see if you wanted to meet up before school tomorrow? 👀
You tilted your head. Does this seem too clingy?
You quickly added another text to the first one.
You: i thought it would be nice since we have class together
You bit your lip as you watched the screen, waiting for the typing bubbles to appear. When the ‘read’ notification popped up, you felt your heart quicken. But seconds turned into minutes and he still hadn’t said anything back.
You pouted. Did I use too many exclamation marks?
Dropped your phone, you turned to lie on your side. You just hoped you hadn’t come off as too familiar— after all, the last thing you wanted to do was hold the poor guy victim. You wondered if he thought you were strange…
But just as you were debating whether to send another text (‘Or not! It’s cool if you don’t want to!’), your phone pinged. You instantly sat up.
Ice Prince: no problem Ice Prince: sounds good
You stared. You blinked. Then you burst out laughing.
He’s a bit of a dry texter, isn’t he? You thought. Now that, I saw coming.
If he were one of your long-time friends, you would have spammed him with random questions. (As the extrovert of your group, you usually found yourself carrying the conversations.) But, seeing as you’ve only really known him for a few days, you decided to have mercy on him.
Until you would eventually fill his world with chaos.
You: yay!! see you then!! ☺️ You: oh and goodnight by the way!
You smiled when you saw his reply.
Ice Prince: See you Ice Prince: Goodnight
You giggled to yourself as you closed your messages with Sunghoon and began to text your other friends. At that moment, you had another goal to add on to your list of things to do.
Mark my words, Park Sunghoon! you thought to yourself resolutely. One day, I will get you to use an emoji!
You greeted the next morning like a new friend.
You had nothing but good dreams the night before. And now, you were properly rested for a day of school—and, of course, hanging out with your new friend Sunghoon! If your parents noticed anything about your chipper mood, they didn’t say anything. But regardless of their odd looks, you didn’t care.
Nothing was going to bring you down from cloud nine.
You hummed as you grabbed your phone off the bench, bidding your family goodbye as you rushed out the door. Just then, you got a notification.
Ice Prince: I’ll be at the benches behind X block
You smiled as you flicked back a text.
You: okey!! I’m on my way to school now! so see you soon! ☺️
With that you skipped away. You couldn’t think of any other day where you had been so excited to go to school—if there ever was one, to begin with. You found yourself enjoying every little thing around, not taking it for granted: the buzz of the morning rush, the feeling of sunlight on your skin, the sight of freshly fallen flowers lining your path.
Today was such a good day. And it only got better when you caught a glimpse of a certain someone from a far.
How does he look so good just sitting there? you wondered.
You observed the way the sunlight managed to reflect off of him at just the right angles to illuminate his features and the wind gently brushed through his locks in a way you suddenly wanted to try for yourself. It seemed some people were just born to be loved by nature. And Park Sunghoon was one of them.
When you finally managed to shake yourself from your reverie, you bounced up to the boy, who didn’t seem to feel your eyes on him. (You supposed he was used to the sensation.)
Feeling mischievous you decided to approach him from behind. Taking quiet steps, you felt yourself smile as you got closer. Then, before he had the chance to realise your presence, you put your hands on his shoulders.
“Boo!”
Sunghoon jolted in his seat. He whipped around to face you, confusion over his features. Then—at the expense of your heart—his lips slowly curled into a smile.
“You’re here?” he said. “You could have just yelled out to me, you know?”
You giggled. “That’s not as fun!” Without waiting for an invitation, you plopped yourself down next to him. “So! What are we doing?” You tilted your head up to the sky to mimic the position he was sitting in before you disturbed him. “Are we cloud-gazing?”
“Huh?” Sunghoon blinked. He shook his head. “No. I was just thinking.”
You blinked back at him. The two of you blinked at each other, before you found yourself bursting into laughter. “Pfft—”
“You were ‘just thinking’?” you repeated with a smile.
Sunghoon nodded, causing you to laugh even more. “Why?” he asked, confused as to what it was he said that you found so funny. “What is it?”
“I mean, it’s just… who does this—” (You posed melodramatically, like a character on a movie poster.) “—when they’re just thinking?”
“Ishhhh…” Sunghoon scrunched his nose, before standing up. His hands were balled into cute fists as he looked down at you. “Yah! How can you tease me like this? Huh?”
But his little ‘reprimand’ did nothing but make you giggle even more. For someone who was known as an ‘Ice Prince’, he had a lot of adorable habits.
“Okay, okay.” You patted him on the arm, trying your best to ignore how muscular they felt under your hand. “I know, so calm down now, yeah?”
Sunghoon sat down beside you, and the two of you enjoyed a moment of silence.
“By the way…”
You turned to face Sunghoon. “Yeah?”
You noticed that Sunghoon hadn’t lifted his head to look at you, instead lowering his head to hide the blush forming across his face. At that moment, your heart melted, endeared by the sight of him.
“I was thinking… did you want to walk home with me after school?”
Your eyes widened. But seconds later, you smiled.
“Sounds good!”
𖤐 𓈒࣪ ᭡ ˖ three. 𝙞 𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪 . . . 𖦹︎ ִֶָ ࣪ ៹
TIME PASSED IN THE BLINK OF AN EYE. Days flew by, then weeks, and then a month. And during that time, you only grew closer to your friend Sunghoon. Sunghoon, who you could now barely remember what it was like before meeting him.
You never would have thought you’d be attached to the hip with the infamous ‘Ice Prince’, but here you were, walking among a crowd of eager-to-leave students, shoulders almost touching with how close you stood together.
You’d be lying if you said you didn’t feel a little slip of joy when Sunghoon had been the one to ask you first. And now, you two had made it a tradition of sorts to walk home together every day.
You hadn’t ever needed someone to walk you home before. But you would be a fool to turn down an offer from Sunghoon.
As such, you were planning to make the most of it.
“You got along with the others okay, didn’t you?” you asked, referring to the group of friends you had introduced to him today.
Sunghoon nodded with a smile. “Yeah. I even got Beomgyu’s number.”
You smiled cheerfully. At least it wasn’t Ning’s or Yunjin’s, you thought. You couldn’t really explain why, but you felt a little twist in your stomach at the thought of either of them (the only females, coincidentally) in his messages. It was an unwarranted feeling—one that you didn’t have any right to—but you couldn’t help it.
Whatever it was, you would ponder it later. For now, you simply wanted to enjoy the scenery. Flower petals falling from the trees, twirling in the air as they fell gently to the ground, lining your path with pink omens of romance and love.
Ha, you thought, I think I’m getting delusional.
“I’m glad you got along well with them,” you said. “Look at you go— you’ve already gotten new friends with little to no effort required. You’re a lot more sociable than you think.”
Sunghoon looked at you with an unreadable expression. “Really?”
You nodded eagerly. “Of course!”
Sunghoon smiled gently. “You know, when I first met you, I thought you were kind of strange.”
You burst out laughing at the sudden admission. “Oh, really? And what about now?”
“Now?” Sunghoon hummed as if he was in deep thought. When he turned to you, there was a glint of mischief. “Now I realise… you really are pretty weird.”
You faked a scandalised gasp. Slapping the boy hard on the shoulder, watching as he started to laugh at your reaction, you couldn’t help but giggle. If he was teasing you, that meant he considered you to be comfortable enough to joke around with. So, you couldn’t be too annoyed at him.
Especially when those dimples of his poked out.
Gosh I really am weak, aren’t I? you thought.
“It takes one to know one, dummy,” you responded.
Sunghoon chuckled. “Then I guess we’ll be weird together.”
Your eyes softened. If, right then and there, someone were to say you had honey dripping from them, you would believe them. Otherwise, there was no explanation for how bright and golden the boy in front of you appeared at that moment.
“Sure,” you said. “Together.”
Yes two of you walked in a comfortable silence for a few moments after. But you had decided at that moment that you wanted to delay your parting— even if just by a little bit.
“You mentioned that you don’t have training tonight, right?” you asked Sunghoon. The male nodded in response. “Well, there’s an arcade nearby that just opened recently. Wanna check it out?”
Sunghoon smiled, his fangs peeking out as he did. “Sure.”
“Cool.” You then surprised Sunghoon by bolting off. “Race you there!”
“Aish—!”
You giggled as you heard the boy curse before taking off after you. You didn’t care how many looks you got on the way. The sound of your laughter mixing together as you raced down the pavement was music to your ears.
Your new favourite song by far.
That afternoon, you had spent all of your time laughing in the arcade, spending hours like they were nothing but minutes, living solely in that moment. After several games against each other, you two found yourself before the claw machine, counting the last few of your tokens.
“Ahhhh!” You groaned in frustration when you missed the cat plushie you had your eyes set on for the last five minutes. “I just needed to get a little bit to the right!”
Sunghoon chuckled from beside you, watching as you almost tore your hair out. You had only meant to spend one or two tokens on the plush, but after gradually getting closer with each try, you insisted that you “might as well go all the way”… only for you to get nowhere at all.
Now you were tokenless and left feeling like you wanted to smash open the machine.
You sighed as you turned to Sunghoon. “Looks like I’m done for today,” you said with a laugh. “What do you want to do? You still have a few tokens left.”
Sunghoon smiled. “Move.”
You blinked as he gently nudged you aside so that he could get to the claw machine controls, wordlessly slipping a token into the coin slot.
“Ayeeee,” you drawled out, crossing your arms over your chest. “Didn’t you see me before? It’s obviously rigged. You shouldn’t waste your tokens on this.”
But it was too late. Sunghoon was already starting to operate the machine, a smile on his face as he nudged the claw so that it hovered over a penguin plush. You immediately perked up.
You wanted the penguin plush at first, but after seeing how difficult it would be to retrieve it from the corner that was stuck in, you chose to play your cards smart and opt for the cat plush. But while the car plush was much easier to get based on its position, you still failed. So the fact that Sunghoon boldly went after your first option piqued your interest — if not a little ire.
You meant down to his eye level, your heads bumping together slightly as you watched the claw make countless turns to get an optimal angle.
“Someone’s confident.”
Just as you said that, Sunghoon hit the button. You watched as the claw descended, taking the penguin plushie up in a pinch, before slowly making its way over to the dropping bay.
Imagine your surprise when the penguin made it all the way.
You gaped as Sunghoon retrieved his newly retrieved plush from the tray, before fluffing it right in front of your face.
“Wha— but how?” You stuttered out. “No way…”
Sunghoon simply laughed, his dimples poking out from the force of his smile.
“Confidence,” he replied.
You remained frozen in place, still unable to process what had just happened. But what shocked you most was what happened next. Before you could say anything, Sunghoon held out the plush, offering it to you with a tint of red blooming across his cheeks.
“Here,” he said. “You can have it.”
You blinked in surprise, an eruption of butterflies setting off inside your chest. Slowly, you reached out, your fingers brushing against his as you took the penguin plush from his hands.
“Thanks, Hoon,” you said, using the nickname special only to the two of you.
“Like it?” he asked, watching as you softly squished the plush, your eyes filled with wonder.
You held the plush to your chest. You smiled at him and nodded.
“I like it.”
I like you.

PEOPLE OFTEN CALLED SPRING THE SEASON OF ROMANCE. Of pink flower petals, pink as the cheeks of lovesick youths; of blossoming love, nurtured by the warm encounters shared between two people hopelessly lost in each other’s orbit.
But not everyone was meant to experience that feeling for themselves. And you were one of them, it seemed.
“I like you.”
The words fell from your lips as easily as the petals of the cherry blossoms from the tree above you. His eyes widened at your sudden confessions, his head turning to face you, no longer occupied with watching the shifting clouds hanging over your heads.
Your voice is soft. Full of hesitance, yet honest all the same. But he doesn’t make a move to reciprocate. He could only stand there, frozen as the ice he held dear to himself.
Maybe you shouldn’t have said anything. Maybe you should have gone on pretending that you didn’t feel anything for him. Pretend as if Park Sunghoon — one of your closest friends — didn’t make your heart burst like the kaleidoscope of colours at the storefront of a flower shop.
But there was no denying it. You couldn’t lie to yourself… and not to him, either.
“What?” he asked, his voice weak with shock.
You swallowed heavily, the weight of your words squeezing down on your chest.
“I like you,” you repeated. “I have for a long time now.”
You stood there for what seemed to be an eternity of silence. Sunghoon looks at you, his eyebrows furrowed in a deep frown, his shoulders tense. And at that moment, you probably already knew what was coming.
“I… I’m sorry.” Sunghoon lowered his head, unable to look at you. If you listened closely, you could hear the sound of shattered glass — the remnants of your heart breaking at his words.
You forced a smile, despite how much it pained you to do so. “It’s okay,” you said. “It happens… I just wanted to let you know.”
Sunghoon but his lip. “We can still be friends, though… right?”
You nodded. “Of course.”
That’s what you told him. But truth be told, you didn’t know how you could go on, acting like nothing had happened. Acting like you didn’t wish to be something more. And so, that afternoon, when you walked home alone — needing time to yourself to wipe the tears that fell down your cheeks as you mindlessly dragged yourself to your bed — you could only think of one thing.
That from this moment forth, you would do what needed to be done to save your own heart. Even if it meant breaking it at the same time. So when Sunghoon texted you later that night, budding you sweet dreams, you didn’t reply.
Unaware that his own heart was breaking just as much as your own.
Sunghoon stared at his message, waiting for the text bubbles to appear on your end, which would signal that you were about to respond. But as minutes passed — and soon, an hour — and there was no sign of reciprocation on your end, he finally turned off his phone and dropped it on his pillow.
He sighed deeply, running his hands through his hair.
Your confession had completely caught him off guard. He hadn’t expected that you felt anything more for him than friendly affection, considering how easily you endeared yourself to others. How easily you smiled, how easily you made others laugh, how easily you broke down any walls around their hearts….
Himself included.
But he didn’t know what it was that he felt for you. For a long time, he barely had any friends to call his own — acquaintances maybe, but never friends. And then you came out of nowhere, literally crashing into his life, with the bold proclamation of being his friend within hours of knowing him.
He didn’t know how you did it. How you made him so curious about you that he woke up every morning waiting for your texts, or anticipating the sight of your smile.
He didn’t know what you were doing to him. But he didn’t want it to change. He wanted you to always be there with him, to share all his moments with him, small or big, good or bad. But now…
One last time, Sunghoon checked his phone.
No answer.
He closed his eyes. He hoped with all his heart that this was temporary. That tomorrow morning, when he woke up, he would see your name as a notification, bidding him good morning with that smiley emoji you seemed to favour so much.
He hoped — more desperately than words could say — that he didn’t just lose you forever.
But he started to see the signs.
The next morning, he didn’t hear a word from you. When he got to school to your usual meet up spot, you were nowhere to be seen. And when he got to class, taking his seat next to your empty desk, imagine his surprise when he found out you weren’t coming to school.
“She said she was feeling sick,” Yunjin told him, surprised. “She didn’t tell you?”
No. You didn’t. And Sunghoon didn’t know what was worse — that he was the only one who didn’t know, or that he was the only who knew the real reason why you weren’t there.
You were avoiding him. And it only became obvious when things continued the next, and the next day after…
Slowly, but surely, you were slipping from his grasp.
Slowly but surely, he was losing you.
One day, he realised, you would stop being there altogether. One day, you would go on and find new people to surround yourself with. New people to tease, new people to spam with cute texts, new people to go to the arcades with…
And a new person to like. Perhaps, more than him.
Sunghoon felt sick at the thought of you with someone else. The thought of you confessing to them the way you did to him. And he was starting to realise why.
“Hey, Yunjin.”
Sunghoon stopped by the girl’s desk as soon as the bell rang.
“Hey, what’s up?” she asked curiously.
Sunghoon pointed at the notes she was currently on the middle of putting away in her bag. The notes she was asked to copy down and give to you so you could catch up from home.
“Those are for her, right?”
At your house, buried under your covers, you had no idea of what was happening. Completely oblivious to the desperate boy on his way to your house, running as if his life depended on it, you curled into a ball, your limbs feeling too weak to leave the cocoon you made for yourself on your bed.
A knock on your bedroom door causing you to lift your head.
“What?” you asked in irritation.
“Don’t you know how to check your phone?” Your older brother, Heeseung asked. “One of your friends from school is here saying that they were meant to give you your catch up notes. But you weren’t answering.”
You sat up in your bed. Checking your phone, you saw several missed calls from Yunjin. You groaned. You quickly texted an apology before kicking your sheets off your figure and rushing to the bathroom to fix your appearance.
Despite having taken a shower not too long ago, you still looked utterly miserable, and the wetness of your hair only added to the drowned rat look you were sporting, with your oversized white tee shirt and old gym shorts.
You sighed as you quickly fixed your hair as best you could. Hopefully, Yunjin wouldn’t care too much.
You trudged to your door, slamming it open to see Heeseung standing there with raised eyebrows.
“Are you sure you wanna go down looking like that?” he asked.
You rolled your eyes. “Who cares? It’s just Yunjin.”
Heeseung’s eyebrows furrowed in confusion. “When did I say—?”
But before Heeseung could finish, you were already pushing past him. You really didn’t have time for his nagging, especially when he had already been doing it for the last few days, urging you to get out of your room and even trying to drag you out by force. He might have thrown you into the back of the car to drive you away from home — where you had been locked up for days now — to go anywhere with fresh air if it weren’t for your mother scolding him.
With a tired sigh, you made your way downstairs. Since both your parents weren’t home, it was completely quiet, and you could hear your footsteps echo as they padded across the tiled floors of the kitchen to your front door.
You cleared your throat as you opened the door.
“Hey, Yun—“ your eyes widened when you saw who was at the door. “Sunghoon?”
Sunghoon smiled tiredly, panting, his shoulders rising and falling as if he had just ran a mile.
“Hey.”
You gaped.
“I— what— why—?” You couldn’t even make out words in your shock. At that moment, you remembered what Heeseung said about your appearance and gasped. “Wait, I’m not dressed—“
You almost closed the door in Sunghoon’s face. But before you could even move, he had already reached out to grab your arm pulling you to his chest. Your eyes widened at the feeling of his arms enveloping you, covering you in warmth.
“Hoon…?” you asked, your voice shaky.
Sunghoon took a deep breath. And only then, you realised he was crying.
“Hoon? What’s wrong?” you asked. You tried to pull away and look at his face, only for him to tighten his grip on you.
“I like you.”
You froze in place.
“What did you just say?”
Sunghoon took another shaky breath, his forms hovering as he held onto you as if you might disappear at any moment.
“I didn’t realise it until now… and I’m so sorry it took so long,” he whispered, his voice shaky and hoarse. “But I like you. I like you a lot. And when you were gone I missed you like crazy.”
He pulled away, looking you in the eyes.
Your heart hammered away in your chest. We’re you dreaming? Or did Sunghoon really just say he liked you — you, of all people. The whole time you spent lying in bed mourning your broken heart, he had been feeling the same way for you that you did for him?
“I…” your voice shook as you pulled away from the hug. You looked into his eyes, wet from tears. Those tears were from you, you realised. You did this to him. You made him cry. “I’m so sorry…”
Sunghoon sniffled, shaking his head. “It’s okay.” His hands, still shaking from his raging emotions, slowly made their way up your arms, before cupping your face. “Just tell me… please tell me you haven’t moved on.”
You shook your head, swallowing the lump in your throat. “Never.”
“Then be mine,” Sunghoon whispered, almost as if he was praying.
You didn’t say anything in return. Instead, you pulled his tie down, so that his lips crashed against yours, fitting like two pieces on a jigsaw puzzle. You let your lips move against his own without any thought but the feel of his mouth on yours. Of the feeling of him holding you to him, like you belonged there on the first place.
And you did.
You were a fool to think otherwise.
A few minutes later — after Heeseung had chased Sunghoon away, claiming “kids should be in bed by now” — you lay on your bed to find a new message from Sunghoon.
Hoon: can’t wait to see you again
You giggled.
You: you only just left 😆
Hoon: i know just can’t help it
As you read his next message, a warm feeling wrapped around your heart.
Hoon: i miss you 🤍

☆ SJY 、⠀ UNFOREVER
🗒️ ⠀ talking about forever with jake. 789 words ⠀ ⠀ fluff, established rs. no warnings. listen ☆

“do you believe in forever?”
the words hang around the room, the clock ticking each second as it waits for your answer in tranquil.
questions like these, where the answers seem incomprehensible and profound, don't surprise you as much as it used to. after all, it’s normal for your boyfriend to ask you such things in between conversations that sometimes you find yourself anticipating what the next one is going to be.
but in this moment, with you lying down on the floor, arms outstretched and knees propped up, you could only stare up at the ceiling in thought.
there is something in the tone of his voice when he asked that made you feel that there is something more to it, that it is more than just a simple question that spilled out of his lips mindlessly.
“why do you ask, love?”
you hear jake shuffle next to you on your side, “it’s been on my mind lately after attending a wedding last week. the couple exchanged their vows and said they would love each other forever. now that i think about it, i think i do… i do believe in forever.”
he pauses for a moment, holding back his breath before it resigns into a whisper.
“what about you?”
the weight of the question hangs heavy on your shoulders now that it is your turn to answer.
forever.
it’s a concept that’s familiar and unfamiliar all at the same time. your mind tries to string in together a coherent thought, anything, as long as you can manage to say a word. but there is only nothing—nothing when your heart is unsure of the answer itself.
defeatedly, your eyes leave the ceiling and flit towards your side, yet the room blurs into white when the first thing you see is jake—jake, who you only realize now is actually inches away from you the entire time. jake, whose breath grazes your skin and sends shivers down your spine. jake, whose eyes hold yours captive and reflect nothing in the universe but you.
not the lamp by the side of the room. not even the stars that people would always describe whenever they look into someone’s eyes.
just you.
and perhaps, you finally have an answer.
“i don't,” you say, “i don't believe in forever.”
the shock in jake’s face is evident in the way his eyes widen. “wait, what? why?”
“everything comes to an end after all. isn’t it a false promise? to tell someone that you’ll love them forever when it doesn't even exist.”
“but it’s romantic!” he defends as if his life is on the line, hands waving around to prove his point, “and if forever doesn't exist, it wouldn't be a word to begin with.”
“even if it’s romantic, it's something i wouldn't say.” this time, your heart starts to speak before your mind could even begin to conjecture. “hypothetically, if love would have no end, the things we consider special would eventually become mundane since it would be the same over and over again, wouldn’t it?
“but knowing that love would end anytime soon, i would love you as if it was my first and last. i would love you fully, to the greatest extent i could possibly give, because time would never grant me another second for me to love you even more. and i would leave knowing i have loved you—wholly, soulfully, completely.”
you stare at him, eyes magnetic with a type of certainty that he couldn't look away, “and i would be spending my unforever loving you.”
a second passes, and then a minute. silence stands in the space between the two of you until jake raises his hand to cover his lips, failing to cover the chuckle made obvious by the slight trembling of his shoulders.
you frown, “why are you laughing?”
“it sounds like you’re already telling me your wedding vows,” his brows raise teasingly, “excited to have my last name that much, love?”
“jake sim!” you slap his shoulder, but before you could process, he takes your hand in between his own and pulls you closer, trapping his leg on top of yours so you couldn’t get away.
“well, jokes aside, you actually got me convinced.” his thumb plays with your fingers, tracing each line with a certain softness to it. “i guess unforever wouldn't be so bad unless it has you in it.”
unforever.
it sounds like a pretty word, jake thinks, as he envisions the image of you in a white dress, walking down the aisle with petals scattering down the air like snow.
the only thing that’s missing, as he now fondles with your fourth finger, is a ring that’s going to sit on it soon.
© hysgf⠀ i know unforever isn't a word but it sounds pretty !! i'm not sure how i feel abt this tho i wrote this until 2 am :/

[VLOG] : 2am grocery run ( spotting rare species )🙀
posted by youronlyyn 895k views
Lately you’ve been finding yourself at the weirdest places in the best hours of the day, with the cool night air surrounding you and a drowsy Sunghoon beside you.
The camera you’re holding capturing the half opened eyelids of your best friend in his worst state ever, with messy bed hair sticking out at all angles, and long legs donned in matching bunny pajama pants as the both of you drag your feet into the lited 24 hour grocery store that was a little too bright for your liking.
“Fucking hell, I can’t believe I’m in a grocery store instead of my bed at two in the morning. What has my life become,” Sunghoon curses under his breath as his fingers latch onto the sleeves of your hoodie ( his hoodie ), blinking profusely to adjust his sight.
“You were the one who pitched the idea to me,” you reminded, “even bitched about how my videos are way too boring nowadays.”
Your eyes roll as a boyish grin forms on Sunghoon’s face, the strong light of the grocery store giving his face a soft glow, reminding you of how handsome your best friend was.
“Because I’m not in the videos,” and you groan, at yet another narcissistic comment of his.
But he wasn’t wrong, though it was your YouTube channel and you’d gain a solid fan base through your content, Sunghoon was the real reason you blew up.
With his funny disposition and gorgeous gorgeous face that reminded you of tangerine sunsets, you weren’t surprised by how he charmed your subscribers and was a fan favourite. And you couldn’t really call them out, because you’ve fallen head first deep into the charms of him, ever since you were ten.
“Literally go kill yourself,” you say as you grab a cart and started pushing, Sunghoon’s grip on the sleeves of your hoodie tightening as he complains about not leaving him behind.
You push the cart and drag a tousled haired Sunghoon into the ramen aisle. Turning to him with an eyebrow raised, as if asking him to take him pick.
“Are you paying?” He asks, head tilting as the tires look in his eyes was replaced by a mischievous glint. And ugh, you wonder out of all the boys you’ve ever met, why it had to be him — the only boy you knew you could never possibly get. Why it had to be that with him, you felt as if you could conquer the universe.
“If you give me your card in advance, I’ll pay using your card,” you stuck your tongue out at him and he scoffs, hand brushing his tangled hair back.
“So I always have to pay, when you’re literally a youtuber with a million subscribers and I’m just a poor college student who feasts on ramen every night like it’s my last meal?” He feigns hurt as he moves to grab the camera, flipping it to face you. “Do you see how mean she is to me?”
You tsked, hand grabbing a packaged cup of ramen from the racks as you fling it in his direction, hitting his shoulder before falling onto the floor. “Ouch, did you guys see that, you should all unsubscribe before she comes for you! Now, before it’s too late and you’re stuck with her forever, like me.”
You roll your eyes again at his childish antics as you turn your back to continue eyeing the rows of ramen, only to feel something hit your back.
You turn back slowly, eyes in slits as you glare at Sunghoon who has an award winning smile plastered onto his face, the camera in his hand as he comments, “deserved, and here, you guys are looking at a rare species of animal, only one in the world, ugly, am i right?” He jokes as he zooms into your furious face, throwing his head back as he laughs.
You launch at him, an evil smile on your face as he shrieks so high it cracks you up. “You sound like an eight year old princess,” you laugh, with tears in your eyes as you hold your stomach. “Fucking hell, did you guys hear that? Now that was a really rare species of animal.”
And he tackles you, as you scream, the camera lens covered as your shouts echoed in the empty grocery store. “You little-” and he gets cut off by your melodic laughter that rings into his ear through his heart as the your limbs untangle, both of you ending up on the floor, side by side with the recording camera long forgotten.
The both of you turn to look at each other, catching your breaths. His eyes looking ablaze against the celestial light ( just like yours ) and his arm against yours made your heart ignite.
If this was what it felt to have him by your side, what would it feel like to have him hold your hand, pepper your face with kisses, and tell the moon about you?
Your soul aches as he gives you the most radiant smile, with the tip of his ears and cheeks stained crimson red as he gazes at you delicately. And it feels like you’re the moon and he’s your sun, golden and forever.
“You’re paying,” you speak up, breaking the sonata of heavy breaths, and he turns to look back up, giving in as he rolls his eyes.
“Fine, but edit my shriek out, I can’t jeopardise my cool image.”

[CHALLENGE] : trying an extreme couples workout with my best friend who’s a disgusting gym rat ( tear shedding ending )
posted by youronlyyn 999k views
You’re losing your mind as you hold your camera, zooming into Sunghoon who’s in a sleeveless top, flexing his muscles for you ( your subscribers ) to see.
“Hot, am I right?” He smirks, all cocky about his defined arm muscles. And you think you’ve gone mad at the fact that not only you agreed to come to this stinky ass gym, but also at the fact that you knew — you knew that your best friend would be so hot, so handsome, so godlike in his so-called ‘natural habitat’.
“Ew, stop you’re giving me the ick,” you answer, pretending to barf ( such a lie ), “you don’t even have muscles to show off.” ( again, a liar ).
And you don’t know why but you observe Sunghoon’s shoulders sinking ever so slightly and you catch your words on the tip of your tongue. “Okay, maybe a little muscle.” You confess, not so honestly and his confident smirk reappears in a split second.
“Just say you’re in love with me y/n, everyone can tell,” he winks, and you choke, on the roaring look in his eyes, the simple wink thrown, on his thoughtless words that meant so much to you.
“Pack your ego up Park, it’s stinking up the room,” you refute, though it really wasn’t a challenging statement, you refused to get your heart broken by the boy with the perfect lopsided smile that showed his teeth shaped like fangs.
He grins at your words as he moves towards you, the grey sweatpants hanging dangerously low on his hips not helping you in controlling yourself one bit.
And you’re in awe, at every single thing he does, simple everyday tasks, even just standing in front of you — with your water bottle in his hand and a yoga mat tucked under his arm.
Your heart burns, at how you managed to keep this precious boy by your side — when all you think you do is sit there and look pretty as he does all your behind the scenes work, caring for you, and remembering the things he knew you would forget.
“You have this way of staring at me,” he murmurs, “looking as if you’re dazzled or something.”
“I am,” you agree, and it’s not the first time you’ve told him how grateful you were.
“I’m just a man, love, don’t forget that,” he replied and you melt. His words wringing out every little drop of love you have in your body for him to bask in, to drown in, to live in.
Your mind aswim with pretty words to describe the pretty boy in front of you, with the lulling hum of crickets, with the dizzying glow of august daydreams. And all you felt was longing.
“Let’s start,” he says, as he lays the yoga mat in front of you, head cocking as he gestures for you to join him.
“Okay,” you say, pulling your phone out to show him the tiktok you’d saved earlier. “Basically, we each have to try to do some exercises while carrying the other person. The first one is squats.”
You look at him, and you think he’s so adorable, with his features scrunched up carefully listening to your every word.
“Hop on Princess, this is going to be the easiest thing I’ve ever done.” He turns, in a steady position for you to jump onto his back, and you resist swooning at his smooth words.
Because curse Park Sunghoon, who not only had a good personality and godly looks, but was also so smooth, too smooth it could be a crime.
And he’s right because he easily carries you and does multiple squats, even able to throw you up in the air and catch you. “Ah! Stop playing around Hoon,” you yell loudly, unknowing to the stares of the other gym goers. “Put me down, it’s my turn!” You say as you pat his shoulder furiously.
Once you’ve reached the ground safely, you move in front of him, ready to carry the idiot you call your best friend. “Jump on me, princess” you say and he scoffs before unhesitatingly literally pouncing on your back.
Chaos ensues as the both of you start screaming as you fall onto the floor together, him on top of you, and your laughters fill the quiet gym, hundreds of eyes staring at the two of you.
“WHY DID YOU JUMP?”
“YOU TOLD ME TO JUMP YOU IDIOT.”
Before you could reply to him, a stern voice cuts the both of you off. “Miss, Mister, you have been making too much noise, I’ve received multiple complaints. I’m so sorry but I have to ask the both of you to leave the gym.”
The both of you quickly get onto your feet, head bowing down to apologise profusely as you stifle your laughs. It doesn’t take you more than two minutes to pack your things up, grab your camera, and leave the gym.
Once the glass doors of the gym swing close, the both of you burst into laughter. Eyes forming into crescents as you point out, “we just got fucking kicked out of the gym.”
“It’s all your fault,” he sobs in laughter, and all of him shines astonishingly, tugging your heart strings with the sound that could lull you to sleep.
“You jumped,” you fight back.
“You called me princess,” he replied.
“So? That doesn’t mean you had to flatten me out.” You answer, as his hands brush against yours and your heart pumps wildly. “Did I hurt your man ego? Awww don’t cry, you’ll always be my princess.” You cooed, “even if in the end you’d be the one to rescue me.”
Sunghoon huffs and rolls his eyes, entertaining your antics as your laughter warms his body from the inside out.

[ QnA ] : how we met, sunghoon’s address, credit card number, phone number, and where i’ll leave him homeless
posted by youronlyyn 1.7M views
You set up your tripod on your small coffee table as you and Sunghoon adjust yourselves on the couch, getting in a comfortable position as he slings his arm over your shoulder.
“Hey guys, today I have Sunghoon here,” you speak into the camera, gesturing towards the boy on your right, “again cause everyone begged in my dms. All going ‘omg where’s Sunghoon”, “girl, you should film with Sunghoon”, “Sunghoon please”, all over a man.”
“There’s enough of me to go around ladies, no need to fight,” he smirks, as his fingers twirl your hair. You slap his chest and give him a face, disgusted by what your best friend has become.
“Hoon, is the fame getting to you, don’t worry, the next therapy session is coming soon.” You say, fighting the urge to laugh as his face contorts into a shocked expression.
“Oh, so that’s how you’re going to play huh?” He raises one eyebrow as he tsks, “fine, but don’t go crying again to your therapist about me.”
You gasp, “allegations and allegations, want me to tell the Internet how you bawled and pissed your pants in front of our class when you were seven? Oh oopsies, just did.”
“Oh how about the time when you tried to get the attention of your boy crush and you pull-” Your hand slaps onto his lips as you shine an adorable grin at the camera.
“Stop deviating and let's start the real video.” You whine, “first question, how did we meet?”
“Oh,” Sunghoon perks up, “we sat next to each other during the first day of school, and we had to ask each other our favourite colours.”
“Yeah, and I guessed yours in one try,” you announced, a proud smile on your face.
“Right blue, it wasn’t my favourite colour then but it’s my favourite colour now,” he replies, remembering the time you shouted it out.
“What do you mean,” you ask, turning to him, “did you lie to me?”
Sunghoon shakes his head, eyes gazing into your irises, “i just,” he starts, “i just never had a favourite colour until you yelled out blue. And you were so excited, smiling so big even with that gap in the middle where your milk teeth fell out. So I told you that you were right and I haven’t seen blue the same since, it’s in everything now, I could probably live in it.”
All of a sudden the world pauses and his eyes hypnotise you, sewing your heart into the fragrant love roses in his ever growing garden. You just want a moment, need a moment away from the boy because you’re slipping, a thread away from the promise you made to yourself — to never tell him about your feelings. And you just want to scream to the whole world that you were in love with him, in love with your best friend Sunghoon.
Sunghoon stares at you, with venus love dripping from his eyes. And he wishes and wishes, throwing a coin into cupid’s koi pond and wishes that you realise. Because he’s a little scared that every love song he hears reminds him of you, every time he happens to visit a new restaurant he notes it down so that he can bring you back. He thinks that it’s insane how he’s grown into love. How a colour, a question, a hit from fate sown a love seed in the soil of his heart that you watered every time he saw you. How you were now the owner of the garden of love sown seeds in his heart.
“Oh- uhm, okay,” you try to find the right words yet you fumble, a stuttering mess at your crush’s confession. And Sunghoon wants to kiss you, kiss your forehead, your cheeks, your wrists, your everything.
“Okay,” you cough, “have you ever lied to each other?”
Sunghoon snaps out of his daze and gestures to you to talk, “you first.”
“Uh, yeah, obviously when we were in high school and you told me you were dating Sohye, and I told you that I was cool with her. I hated the rich bitch’s ass, wanted to scratch her pink porsche so badly.” You ramble, jealousy boiling in your blood at the memory of Sunghoon kissing Sohye in front of your locker — given his locker was beside yours, but still.
He grins, looking down at his lap as his fingers play with yours, twisting between them as he answers, “I found out a long time later, but it was fine, because I lied to you about liking Beomgyu too. I hated that rat.”
You laugh at his confession, “but Beomgyu was such a good boyfriend, unlike Sohye, all that bitch did was ask you to drive her around and take her shopping.”
“Good boyfriend?” He repeats, shocked, “he was so bad, he never arrived on time, took you out on the most boring dates, and your mother hated him.”
“But at least he was nice,” you argue, eyebrows furrowed, “he was funny, he made me laugh.”
“Is that the standard now? Just a man who makes you laugh?” He turns his whole body to face you, “I would be a better boyfriend than him anyday. I can make you laugh, I can take you on fun dates that you actually like, I’m never late, and your mother loves me.”
It’s suddenly quiet and his words linger in the thick tension between the both of you, it cling onto your heart — like that of fireflies and moonlight.
He’s everything, all in his glory, right in front of you. He reminds you of the translucent rainbows of shimmering waters, yellow paint on your fingers, Van Gogh sunshine in the summer. And his existence sits lazy at the bottom of your heart, the first one to ever enter, and the one that would never leave.
And maybe, he thinks the same way. Because he’s moving in, and he kisses you. Lush heat cherries dangling on his lips and you’re both turning pink. He sinks into you, caressing your skin as if you were an angel. Your mind is empty, with only one phrase playing over and over again. Love you, love you, love you.
You linger on him, and he lingers on you; like your brain lingers on your favourite perfume. Warm heat waves drown the both of you as you break the kiss, heavy breathing as you gaze at each other like fools.
His jasmine gaze baptises you as you try to construct your mind back together.

“Never thought I’d be saying this, as alpha girlboss as I am.” You start, focusing the camera on you as you talk. “But yeah, I got a boyfriend!”
You fiddle with your fingers as you glance at Sunghoon who’s behind the camera, with a goofy grin etched on his face.
“Guys, it’s not Sunghoon, I actually got back together with Beomgyu, you know — my highschool boyfriend.” You grin, joking as you break eye contact with Sunghoon.
“He’s literally the best boyfriend ever, he’s so cute and pretty and handsome,” you go on, cautiously glancing back at Sunghoon who now had eyes glimmering with envy.
“Are you sure your boyfriend’s Beomgyu?” He asks, deep voice echoing around your empty house as he walks around the camera, blocking the lens with his muscular back.
“Omg Beomgyu? Didn’t know you’d be here, what a pleasant surprise,” you continue, eyes glinting mischievously as your fingers wrap around his wrist, pulling him down to kiss him.
“Fucking hell,” he curses under his breath as his fingers dance on your neck, pulling you in for another kiss.
“Beomgyu, how did you get into my house?” You say cheekily, and Sunghoon groans. He can’t even complain, because you’ve got him wrapped around your finger. “Beomgyu, are you okay?”
“I fucking hate you,” he sighs as he grabs your camera off the tripod stand, raising his arms up as you try your best to grab the camera back.
“Guys, this is Sunghoon, I’m her boyfriend, she’s my girlfriend. If you’re watching this Beomgyu, fuck you.”

casual dates
group enhypen genre fluff 、suggestive (for hs) warnings none
heeseung 희승
— video game match
・ he’s dead serious about his video games… he is NOT going easy on you
・ unless you’re genuinely bad at a game and he knows he would end up beating you mercilessly… he’ll let you win a couple times to see your cute little victory dance
・ will also teach you how to play fifa with him and gives you all his tips and tricks so you can humble the rest of the guys when they play (takes pride in saying “guess who taught them that one. ME!”)
・ he also likes to play team games with you like snipperclips and pico park… will also annoy tf out of you by stalling and fooling around instead of completing the stage (see: en o’clock ep. 34)
・ he thinks you look so cute annoyed with your eyebrows furrowed and pouting…. SUE HIM!
— drive in movie
・ is this an excuse for him to make out with you in the back of his car. absolutely it is
・ you don’t get much uninterrupted alone time at the dorms so this is his better idea
・ pretends he’s actually interested in the movie but lasts about ten minutes before his leg is bouncing, he’s fiddling with his clothes, running his hands through his hair… he has zero patience
・ you’ll feel a hand on your leg but you try to focus on the movie… but out of the corner of your eye you can see that he’s giving you that look… and you are not god’s strongest soldier
・ will lean over and keep kissing down your jaw and neck until you break… and the smirk on his lips when you give in and kiss him is VILE
・ will make fun of YOU saying that you can’t resist him even though he was the one barely making it through the opening credits
・ sorry to you if you really wanted to watch the movie… he‘ll rent it for you when you get home !!
jay 제이
— breakfast in bed
・ he is such a giver and genuinely just enjoys doing things for you
・ he’ll sneak out of bed in the morning whenever he’s up before you (or will insist on you staying in bed if you’re already awake) to make your favourite breakfast for you — or anything you mentioned craving the night before
・ minutes later he’s walking in with a tray of freshly cooked food and two sets of cutlery for you both to dig in
・ will lowkey get annoyed (affectionate) if you tell him you can make your own so he can sleep in on his off days… like how dare you think he doesn’t want to do something that takes away added stress from your life… he’s simply dismissing you with a kiss to the temple, telling you that he will do LITERALLY anything for you so something so trivial like cooking should be the least of your concerns
・ gets so smiley when you compliment his cooking even if you say the same thing every time… he’s so happy to please you !!
・ uses this time to ask you about your plans for the day, and see if there’s anything you need help with before you go or while you’re gone
・ if its however, he’s cleaning up your plates and pulling you down to cuddle and kiss while you watch some funny tiktoks together and figure out what to do that day
— going for walks
・ he’s thankful for any time spent with you, and he doesn’t need to particularly be doing an activity to call something a great time !!
・ doesn’t mind walking in silence if there’s nothing much to talk about, he’s satisfied with your presence alone (even if you wanted to do something he doesn’t really enjoy — he’ll end up liking it more because he’s doing it with you… like he’s head over heels i’m afraid)
・ however if you come home after an especially long or frustrating day, he’ll always suggest a quick walk where you just circle the neighbourhood venting to him as he rubs your shoulder comfortingly and nods along, interjecting with his advice if you ask for it
・ sometimes you’ll make stops during longer walks, sitting down by the river or getting ice cream, or stopping at stores to look around inside
・ always has a hand on you normally, but will drop his arm around your waist if you’re walking near cars or are on a busier street… his protective instincts kick in subconsciously
・ you also often end up with little trinkets from cute local shops when you discover a new corner or road — he has your walk souvenirs piled up on his desk
jake 제이크
— walking his dog together
・ we all saw this cliché coming from miles away… however! he just loves it so much because he gets to spend time with his two favourite things — his dog and you!
・ he also gets to cuddle up to you on the park benches and kiss you on the head while you guys watch layla run around a bit which is a bonus in his book
・ if you have a dog that you take with you as well he’d be super excited and he wants them to be best friends so bad
・ takes 9273829362 pictures of you with layla and would insist on making the cutest one his lock screen (you have no say in this matter)
・ literally squeals at the sight of you playing catch with layla like nothing makes his heart race like watching you adore her
— escape room
・ he is highly competitive and loves being on your team in corresponding situations so this is perfect for him (he is going for the lowest time on record… steps into the building and is immediately dragging you towards the leaderboard “these people should fear us”)
・ REFUSES to use any hints because he’s convinced the two of you are the best players this escape room will ever see
・ finds it very attractive when you’re focused… you have to remind him that there’s a time limit because he just keeps staring at you with a lovesick smile on his face when you’re piecing the clues together
・ he’s genuinely so impressed if you solve something that he couldn’t get or was stuck on (“WOAH good job baby you’re a genius!” with a kiss to your cheek)
・ however he cannot take compliments from you at ALL without giggling and kicking his feet so if you hit with a “my smart boy!” in return it’s over for him
・ so unbelievably gassed if you end up escaping, he will not hesitate to embarrass you ( yells out the loudest “LET’S GOOOOOO” when the final door opens like you’ll have to remind him you’re in a public space)
・ definitely asks a staff member to take a picture of you both holding the I ESCAPED! certificate and sends it to the groupchat to flex
sunghoon 성훈
— shopping
・ love love LOVES watching you try on outfits he picks for you and vice versa
・ watches you come out of the dressing room with a big smile and his cheeks tinted red… also has a cute habit of grabbing your hand and twirling you like a princess before he tells you how pretty you look
・ he is buying everything… don’t even try to take your wallet out or he’ll swat your hand away and get pissy
・ if you pick something out and tell him he’d look good in it he’s buying it immediately and wearing it all the time… it makes him feel so yours (will also tell anyone with ears that “my partner chose this for me… yeah i know they have great taste right!!!!!!!!”)
・ very into couple items as well… you guys have matching necklaces, earrings, shirts, hoodies, rings… he’s always buying two of SOMETHING
— coffee
・ he could listen to you talk for hours but also loves talking to you for hours
・ one of the things sunghoon loves most about you is how comfortable you make him feel when he’s talking — you genuinely being interested in his every word makes his heart skip beats
・ therefore a few hours at a café is very enjoyable for him! because you’re his favourite person in the whole world and he wants to hear your opinions and thoughts on anything and everything
・ hoon is also a gossip girl so he would like to know ALL the drama from your daily life… like he’s SAT for the campus/workplace/friend group tea and is so incredibly invested that even days later he’ll ask if you have updates (“and then they said THIS!” “NO FUCKING WAYYYYYYY. AND WHAT AFTER THAT”)
・ that running tiktok joke where people talk loud asf dropping the most insane storytimes in front of waiters and other customers… yeah that’s you guys
・ you two never go to the same café either… you’ve made it into your own game — you have a shared note on your phones with a café ranking based on flavour, service, menu variety, pastry selection… it’s very serious business for you two
・ not a pda fan normally but likes to hold hands under the table… will blush so hard if you tease him about it and look out the window like he doesn’t know what’s happening
author’s note tried to avoid the skating date for sunghoon bc i feel like that’s been done so much already and i don’t think i’d add anything new to it… hopefully it turned out okay anyway LOL thank u for all the love on my first few posts i’m so greatful ㅠㅠ as always, i hope u enjoy reading and feel free to send asks!
