The reason Rick Grimes ain’t chasing after Daryl is because he doesn’t have to. As much as we all like seeing TF work together, the fact is that they don’t need to be the roving band of feral nomads they were in previous seasons to get shit done. Carol is perfectly capable of tracking down Daryl and we all know it. Rick doesn’t need to be part of that.

What he does need to be apart of is reconnecting with his wife and children and recovering from all the shit they’ve all been through over the past 8 years and more. As the leader of TF from the start, he’s earned the peace and quiet of semi-retirement—especially when every member of TF is fully capable of taking care of themselves—which they’ve all shown since the bridge. I mean didn’t they just pull off a revolutionary coup of the Commonwealth when TWD ended?

There may come a time in the future when the world needs Rick Grimes again, but it ain’t now and it ain’t for this.

And don’t get me started on why no one should expect Rick to gaf about Negan and his never-ending redemption tour—outside of thanking him for looking out for Judith, that is.

This Amazing Journey

This song has been on repeat for me after watching this episode because it makes my heart full just like this show has. No words can expressed the love I have for Rick and Michonne. I remember vividly the days where I would point out their chemistry to my friends and they thought I was nuts but I always knew that these two were brought into each other lives for a reason and that reason was love. Pure unconditional love. This mini series gave me everything I wanted and more. There are so many lovely richonners out there that have echo my same sentiments so I won’t repeat much. I will say that this is the true series ending for me.

The show started with Rick looking for his family and ended with him finding not only his family but the happy ending he ultimately deserved. As far as Michonne goes she deserves every bit of love, peace and happiness and to see that shown to her by Rick ten times over brought tears to my eyes. Regardless of what anyone says about this show I’m left feeling something that I thought I would never feel when it comes to TWD and that is satisfied. Thank you Andy and Danai for making this happen and for advocating for your characters. Without you guys love and dedication to your craft, this show would have never happened and we wouldn’t have Richonne.

Like what’s not clicking ? People being mad at her for trying to bring her family back makes no sense like did they forget the whole reason why she left to go look for him in the first place? They are soulmates and so if she gotta literally throw his ass off a plane to help him get his mind right that what it is and I’m here for it.

People really out here angry at Michonne because she wants out from under the CRM. She can't follow orders. She was smirking when Thorne was talking. She's messing up Rick's plan to keep her safe. She's putting everyone they love in jeopardy. Blah blah blah. Rick, god love him, has not explained to Michonne why he can't leave. Has not explained that Jadis took him; that they had a deal. That their family is under such a serious threat.

Remember, Michonne didn't just traipse up there and fuck up everyone's plans. Rick's the one who put the gun to Michonne's head and made her go along with the subterfuge. Michonne just wants her family back together. Now she has to stand around and listen to some woman she doesn't know calling Rick her family. Has to see Jadis there looking fucking smug and then have Rick tell her they're broken and over? After he insinuated that Michonne didn't love him? And people are angry at Michonne? I am not even surprised by any of this. Michonne deserves to fuck shit up. She deserves the whole world.
