also to add on the previous post about flowers, I don’t think Nico gives Will traditional flowers either!!! I think he’d give him little vased plants!! (hello plant dad Will you are loved💖) he cannot give them to Will directly, of course, but he makes Kayla leave them on Wills bed, or in the infirmary or something, and Nico takes the time paint the vases himself before handing it to some Demetra kid so they can put the plant it!

Like I was thinking this in regard of flowers specifally: he cannot get him normal flowers, because they would wilter immediately, so he finds a thousands and more ways to circumvent that! He gets Nico Lego ones, asks Lou Ellen or somebody else from Hecate’s cabin to enchant some so that they don’t die, commissions the Hephaestus cabin to make mechanical ones, draws some on paper (though he’s really not that artistically talented…), gives him embroidered ones… he tries so hard guys he truly does because he knows that Nico loves and cherishes every single one of them 😞😞😞 im so emo like actually

Hi! You absolutely did not sound rude dw. I totally agree that there are also many masculine gay men, and they aren’t any less deserving of rep, but the thing is that, well, Nico… isn’t overly masculine either? This isn’t the type of situation in which we are taking idk Thor and turning him into a femboy (sorry for the term, you know what I’m trying to say), Nico already does have some more feminine leaning characteristics and it’s not that far fetched to hc him leaning more into that (I actually have seen some really beautiful arguments in favour!).

Nico is a fictional character, and you’re allowed to perceive him as being more masculine, as well as more feminine. What I was trying to convey is that you cannot possibly judge every single person who portrays him as more feminine leaning based on a) mysogynistic ideas (which is honestly what I usually speak on) and b) the inherit assumption that it’s made with a malicious intent and to fetishize him. Especially if you’re pushing the idea that he’s hyper masculine, which is ALSO not canonical!

Everybody get their panties in a twist whenever fem/non gender conforming/not solely masculine Nico comes up but the idea of Nico finally being enough comfortable with himself and his identity to ALLOW himself to explore parts of himself he grew up forced to condemn and hate is BEAUTIFUL to me. He was born in a societal context that refused everything that wasn’t alligned with the “perfect image of a man”, and him finally being able to let that go, to go past that and find himself is such good soup yall don’t get😞

And rn I’m saying this in relation to gnc Nico, but it doesn’t necessarily need to be. this is more of a general and broad thought i have! And it’s something that, yes, would have an impact on his identity, but that also really comes out with his relationship with Will as well! With his relationship with his friends, with his sister!

And like I don’t even personally hc him as gender non conforming and stuff, but it’s so sad to see that everytime it’s brought up from a genuine place it’s immediately shot down with arguments that go from being superficial to lowkey just misogynistic. WHOA who said that…

not to be dramatic but nico di angelo is actually the prettiest boy alive. like. canonically. i don’t make the rules. huge doe eyes, unfairly long lashes, soft mouth, dark curls that are always a little too long. the kind of boy you swear you’re immune to and then spend 45 minutes describing the exact shade of his eyes in your diary. the kind of pretty that ruins your life a little. you blink and suddenly you’re emotionally compromised and planning your wedding in a cemetery.
