i know it’s silly and just something i gotta unlearn and build confidence with but im nervous to use my cane. like somehow it’ll make me less hot or bc im plus size people will make assumptions about me due to that. idk fellow cane users im excited for the pain relief nervous about using a disability aid for the first time. (but i also just have bad anxiety about being perceived in general) ugh. i already know my family is going to make comments

cane users don't have to use their cane for every single step in order to be valid in their need for a cane. cane users can suddenly stop using their cane while moving around and not invalidate their need for it next time they use it. some cane users may only use their canes during flare ups. some only need their cane every few steps for short bursts. everyone's needs are different.

every cane user deserves respect.
