Eight Lyctors, eight steps to the process, with the implied Ninth being perfect Lyctorhood that John and Alecto performed...or maybe Paul. Nine resurrection beasts, according to John. But...ten laboratories in Canaan. Ten. I can't get past that. Ten labs and an implied unexplored part of Canaan that could be from the pre-apocalypse times when it was a research facility. Maybe...maybe immortality isn't the endgame. Maybe there's another step after that, one that John hasn't even found. Like...restoration. Forgiveness. Returning the life instead of freezing someone in place for ten thousand unchanging years.

Maybe it's time for the cryo project to be woken up.

i like how in any other fandom griddlehark would be a controversial ship but here it's like. the main one. i can want gideon to kiss the girl who tortured her for 17 years and i can want harrow to spend the rest of her life desperately trying to make that up to her and that's just a normal opinion to have. i think they should do body worship and maybe pet play about it. i think gideon should eat cup ramen on the couch while harrow reads her vile tomes. maybe they could have a cat.
