When you think about it, tying your shoes is actually a dark witch's spell.

It's a ritual where you take parts of a certain object (the shoelaces) , move them around in a very odd and cryptic way(knotting), and if done correctly it bimds said object (shoe) to your body (foot).

I. Freaking. LOVE. Potatoes!

These incredible round roots of an otherwise very poisonous plant is a wonder on its own, and I can't get enough of it!

Like, think about the sheer variety of products that can be made out of potatoes: boiled (with skin or without), baked potatoes, filled potatoes, deepfried as fries, fried potatoes from the pan, chips, potato salad, mashed potatoes, croquettes, dumplings, poatato pancakes, or 'Schupfnudeln'! (a Czech/German specialty, basically fried dumplings).

And mind you: Despite all of these dishes being made from the same vegetable, they are all quite different in taste!

But it's not only the taste. The plant is incredible as well! It's very robust when it comes to different soil and minerals and grows super fast!

And most importantly, it's a perfect food for us humans, simply because cultivating is very VERY easy, it can be stored for several months when simply put in cool places, and it's so rich in carbs, vitimins and fiber (although, some of the good stuff gets lost when fried).

It is not surprising, that this little wonder of a vegetable saved probably millions of people worldwide from starvation. Be it by the Inka 7000 years ago, the Irish in the 1600s or during and shortly after the world wars, when most European countries were starving after everything was basically destroyed, it was the potato that saved many, many starving families.

All hail to one of the most important and powerful super foods we ever cultivated!
