Carmen Sandiego (2019) Big-Bang Event!

Welcome CrimeNet Sleuths! To the official Carmen Sandiego Big Bang event!

The event is hosted by @random-remzy And will last from May, all the way to early September. 

The premise of this event is to introduce fans to new places, cultures and histories that weren’t explored in the show. It’s an opportunity for everyone to show a piece of their identity, as well as learn about new things in a creative and positive environment!

For those who don’t know what a Big Bang is. It is an event where Fanartists and Fanfic writers come together to create new and unique pieces for a fandom.  Traditionally, in a big bang, all artists and writers are paired up. However, due to the diverse set of identities that represent the fans, We’ve decided that being paired is optional, and if you wish to participate with a standalone piece, then that will be perfectly okay!

Everyone is welcome to join! All you have to do is join the discord server and sign up via the form! (Link will be posted soon!)

The discord server will open on the 9th of May, and will remain open until the 25th of May. After that, the link will be closed and the event will be officially underway!

We did a little April Fool's joke on @listarotzine fanzine accounts where you could supposedly vote for a ship to be the Lovers Arcana. Among those "ships" was this one: Max x Therapy... hahahahaha 🤣

I'm VERY surprised by this work because I haven't drawn with this style for YEARS (5 years if I'm not mistaken), and having used it and done this entire illustration in hours, I was delighted with the results and realized my skills and talents. I hope you also find this illustration fun and that you like it. And yes, Max NEEDS to go to therapy.

A Carmen Sandiego before the month is out, haha. I've always loved these types of compositions where a single color is used, with no lines, just other colors delimiting the shape. That, along with my current great inspiration, Laura Perez, led me to this illustration. Also, the song Dreamers by Lost Records inspired me so much when painting her hair; it really helped me convey the tranquility, like the red inside her, that makes her feel at peace and enjoy herself.

Today marks the 10th anniversary of the premiere of Episode 2 of Life or Strange! As a way to celebrate, I'm showing you a little preview of the Arcana I'm working on for @listarotzine UwU✨️

My process has been somewhat slow due to many things that have happened to me and also a certain lack of inspiration. But I've regained my motivation and now I have a lot of inspiration for this Arcana and my future projects!

When I first saw Episode 2, it was a very interesting experience because the story, characters, music, and themes continued to captivate me more and more. ufff, remembering it again takes me back to 2015, hehe, it feels so alive. Did I save Kate on my first try? Yes, I was able to save her too (although to be honest, I think it was because I already knew some of the answers.)

Happy Valentine's Day! ❤️💙✨️

Today is day 2 of the little Red Crackle Valentine's Day Special! by @redcracklevalentines! This second day is "Kiss(es)/Hug" and I just thought "Why not both?" Hahaha

I'm amazed at how quickly I colored it, it was so fast, I broke my own record! And the best thing is that I'm so happy with the result. I love it! I'm also starting to learn how to use other color palettes, it was fun.

Today I start the little Red Crackle Valentine's Day Special that organized @redcracklevalentines !

My initial idea was to make a comic, one page a day, but being the organizer of a fanzine and many other work and personal issues already no longer gave me the time. Still, I want to make that comic! You'll see it soon.

This first day is "Crush/Confession" I wanted to experiment with using only 2 colors (3 if we count black haha) and at the same time make a simple composition. I loved the result, and I also missed doing shaded with pen! I will do it more often hehe.

And after constant changes of how I wanted to shade and with which brush and a whole host of changes, here is my selfportrait! In the last few months and more since January, I have gone through so many changes in how I perceive situations, people and even myself, also affecting my work, besides still practicing lineless, my artistic processes are changing.

I'm fascinated with the result, and there are still things I want to improve, change and create from scratch, and I know that throughout this year it will happen.

I've been a fan of Life is Strange for almost 10 years and this is the first Hawd Dawg Man I've drawn! I loved how it looks and it was so relaxing to create it digitally from scratch!

Now, A friend and I are organizing a Life is Strange Tarot/Zine to celebrate its 10th anniversary! The Interest Check ends in 5 days! If you're an illustrator and want to be part of this project, you can answer the questionnaire in the link!

Fall is one of my favorite seasons and I miss Red Crackle so much.

I already did this drawing during the "Carmen week" earlier this year. My idea was for Carmen and Gray to wear yellow sweaters (I love yellow sweaters hahaha) and what I also did was for both of them to wear outfits with a yellow sweater based on other characters (guess which character and series each outfit comes from lol) I also really missed painting in traditional style! It's all mixed media.
