"To Fly, To Serve" Are you sure about that, @british_airways? On April 30th, the Duty Manager at gate 26 in Schiphol Airport appeared to have a problem with my entire party from the moment we approached the gate to board. Assuming he was just in a bad mood, I didn't immediately take it personally. But then he demanded that I give him my bag of food i purchased just prior to boarding. He said "I can't have you making my plane smell." Meanwhile other people were allowed to board with food, including McDonalds, which is what we had. My family and I travel a lot. And as one of your associates discovered, my husband is @djjazzyjeff. His noteriety is irrelevant. But his profession as a DJ is an indication that he travels hundreds of thousands of miles per year. And neither of us has ever experienced the disrespectful treatment and deplorabe customer service that we were shown. Even flight attendants on board were appalled and encouraged me to report the incident. All my attempts to report the incident have been passively dismissed. Customer service has given me what appears to be generic responses and will not acknowledge any wrongdoing on the part of the employee. I've had great experiences with BA in the past and view this as an isolated incident. I also believe its possible this situation has nothing to do with race. But since I'm honestly clueless as to what caused him to "pick me/us", I have no choice but to speculate. And BAs quickness to dismiss my complaint only makes matters worse. What I do know is I saw him give others in our group attitude. I also know he waited until my husband and his team were on board before approaching me to take my family's food. I'm the only woman in the group. He waited until the 6 grown men traveling with me were on the jetway and couldn't deplane so there was no one to come to my defense. And I know other passengers before and after me boarded, food in hand. With the exception of banning foods due to severely allergic passsngers, there are no other food policies that I'm aware of. So it seems he made it up. Is this how @british_airways conducts business? #Fail #britishairways
