Sheltered Dumplings, part of ‘roots’ happening at the Green Heart of Marina One. Interactive sculpture with hanging modified lampshade fixtures. When standing underneath the various pods, visitors experience a newly warped transformation of the surrounding space. Standalone, the pods interact amongst themselves to create ongoing soundscapes triggered by environmental conditions and human activity. final week to catch @cyborgthinks at @tzuchisg.hyc ! … Cyborg Thinks is a collaborative art exchange project by Singaporean artists @jaxtonjx and @_lquek , and South Korean artists @jieun_gu_ and @daraebaek , which examines the correlations between the cyber and physical world - their tools, contexts, and boundaries, in an attempt to form an archive of shared knowledge across Singapore and South Korea as the artists explore everyday human experiences and issues such as alienation, digital culture, urban development and environmental degradation. Culminating into a two-part exhibition happening in both cities, an exciting array of experimental works including interactive installations, vibrant collages and immersive new media art were created through the distinct adaptation, reinterpretation, and visualisation of the various digital and analogue data collected by the four artists. Cyborg Thinks is supported by Arts Council Korea, Whale Cultural Foundation, UNIST, Science Walden, Tzu Chi Humanistic Youth Centre, PRISM+, and General Steelworks Pte Ltd. TOUCH! DON’T JUST SEE Configured as if a storefront display window, visitors are not allowed to enter or physically interact with objects within the space. However, they have the liberty to activate these objects externally, through touch conductive materials attached to the exterior of the glass windows. Without stepping into the storefront, visitors can control and customise happenings within it. The materials presented for this store are designed to blend in with the surrounding soundscapes of music instrument shops.
