G1 rod is easily my number 1 favorite rod. Arguably one of my favorite characters ever. TFA rod is a close second…. MTMTE is nowhere close to being the same character but I respect him. I am drawing hawt rawds and rodimus variations all the time these days. Every day. I cannot stop. No one loves g1 rod like I do

honestly i don't think anything can save that cat from his behavioral issues at this point. the amount of times rod's poor hand has gotten a thorough bactine treatment because good ol galvy bit the fuck out of him when he tried to give him his meds is bordering on triple digits

for the rod and his several cats au::::: what does rod do for work and how does it effect the cats if at all?

Optimus is kind enough to send Rod some money for cat-related expenses each month (since he's the one who dumped the little freaks on him in the first place) but it's not livable, so he gets extra cash through mechanic work. It doesn't affect the cats much. Unless they get into his tools. He's considering buying them some toy tools or something so Ultra Magnus stops trying to 'help'.

He wasn't always a trainee mechanic, though. He actually used to do medical and veterinary work. I wonder why he stopped?

Honestly you can interpret it as either one. Or both. He could definitely use a nervous vest. Rod mostly needs to keep the harness on so he has something to grab when Blurr is bouncing off every wall in the kitchen instead of taking his meds like a good kitty

How do you think Rodimus came to own all those cats in the AU?

The concept is pretty much that Optimus (Orion in this AU) worked at an animal shelter that got shut down and wound up shoving a bunch of the occupants into Rod's care because he couldn't take them all himself. Rod is less than thrilled considering he has a lot of his own shit going on but the creatures need him so what are you gonna do. He's trying to rehab these little freaks and get them adopted out but it very rarely works
