Honestly you can interpret it as either one. Or both. He could definitely use a nervous vest. Rod mostly needs to keep the harness on so he has something to grab when Blurr is bouncing off every wall in the kitchen instead of taking his meds like a good kitty

How do you think Rodimus came to own all those cats in the AU?

The concept is pretty much that Optimus (Orion in this AU) worked at an animal shelter that got shut down and wound up shoving a bunch of the occupants into Rod's care because he couldn't take them all himself. Rod is less than thrilled considering he has a lot of his own shit going on but the creatures need him so what are you gonna do. He's trying to rehab these little freaks and get them adopted out but it very rarely works

So, I've recently fallen madly in love with @madamadamiu's Lost Light cat shelter content and, considering how G1 obsessed I am, I couldn't help but make an AU of my own. Here's some of the initial concept work and then a genuine lineup

Ultra Magnus is HEAVILY inspired by the lost light cat design because honestly you really nailed it in one there. No notes. I have a lot of thoughts on all of these goobers and how Rod even came to own them in the first place so feel free to accost me; I could talk about these guys for hours
