before the shooting john killed his father and brother and proceeded to set the house on fire after that he forced a woman to drive him to santa monica college before getting to his destination he partially exited the vehicle at lest once to shoot at passersby he later shoot at a red ford killing the driver and making the vehicle crash he shoot one more person on the entrence to the college came in and started shooting before getting gunned down by the police not long after entering.
