We will be adding Kaiba kin here.

Both Kaiba and Mabayu have to do with memories, their deletion and their value.
Though Kaiba's story focuses also on change of shape and the existence of an essence even removing said shape and memories.
Both forget who they truly are, both remember things they've done wrong, both have to delete their memories in the end.
Also both are green. Which is not important but makes them fit further in the same blog.

I thought I'd come back to this account since it's so related to memories.
How Mabayu values her memories and yet has to delete them always was particularly painful to me, because I know what it is to forget what is most precious; those I love, myself, everything. I always stay scared of that.
I used to say I disliked how the plot basically said Mabayu wasn't needed, but she was, everything she did left a mark. The fact Mami and her later meet again is proof their connections stayed. I think I see that plot a bit more pretty now. Mabayu was needed, she just wasn't needed to be remembered, because in the end that's not what matters anyway.
Today I think I learned connections don't die because each of us has our own essence. That essence is who we truly are and it's always there. The things we experience shape that essence, even if we forget about them later.
*To note this was all due to unrelated stuff, I haven't played the new event in Magia Exedra and this is not an opinion on it owo7

The things from Scene 0 I wish they changed:
1- Point out that Mabayu deletes her memories of being a magical girl, but still remembers that her soulgem is something very important that she can't leave behind.
2- Don't make Nagisa fall into despair again. Or change Madoka’s wish. But her wish was that Charlotte doesn't fall in despair AGAIN, so she just shouldn't, and Nagisa literally vanishes anyway at the end during Walpurgisnacht, like a spirit that found peace, so it would end the same way. I guess we still need Kyoko to get killed somehow, but I don't want to think of Kyoko dying so I won't do that one lol.
3- When Mabayu deletes her own memories but let's Mamis… this one is a bit hard but it just felt wrong to me. Maybe show Mabayu seeing Mami will be ok remembering those things, maybe show Mami needs to have those memories. Otherwise it just shows Mabayu deleted her own memories and left Mami remembering Mabayu only for Mabayu to act like she doesn't know her, because she doesn't remember her, which I believe Mabayu just wouldn't do. Mabayu wouldn't let Mami go through that. She said herself she would never touch Mamis memories, and that if she did, she would do it in a way that Mami wouldn't notice. So it could make more sense if this was the first time Mabayu sees that a good future is one where she's not needed, but Mami needs to remember things, so she deletes herself from Mamis memories, but somehow they still feel close to each other, just like it happens at the actual ending, making Mabayu eventually realize that they used to be a team etc. It would also make it more tragic and add to the looping plot, and then Madoka would make the wish for Mabayu to not despair etc.
These are just ideas though, and I know these changes won't ever happen and many like the original Scene 0 as it is, it's just these things mainly that kept bothering me when reading it so I thought of a way I would feel more ok with them.

Tamaki Ui’s ending is pretty much what I always dreamed of. The idea that I can be with my beloved ones, observing as life goes on, as some sort of spirit in this one space you can always go back to, which in this case would be the sakura tree place.
They also made this system for magical girls, which is epic. Imagine making a system so people suffer less I don't know.

I think the saddest thing of Scene 0 is that it tells Mabayu "you are not needed", it's telling her how the one future where things go well is one in which not even herself can remember she's a magical girl.
I mean Mami does show up again, which is good, but knowing that magical girls can't be too far away from their soulgems, Mabayu not remembering what it is, the chances of her forgetting it somewhere are so high, or getting her soulgem clouded without any way to know she needs grief seeds. She's basically letting herself in a high disadvantage and it's because the "good future" is one where she shouldn't be part of anything.
