It's Tuesday night. They should be watching Predator or Die Hard, sitting on their couch at opposite ends while Dennis pretends Mac's not staring at him out of the corners of his eyes, but they're not. Instead, Dennis is in the hospital chair next to Mac's bed, pretending to be his husband for reasons that he doesn't want to think about right now. He just wants Mac to wake up. Well, if he decides to wake up, that is. If Mac decides him and the gang are worth coming back to at all.

Dennis just wishes that things could go back to normal. Before Mac decided he loved Dennis and decided to shove it down his throat, before things got stiff and awkward and stuck between them. Then Mac wouldn't be in this goddamn hospital bed and none of this ever would have happened in the first place.

If only Dennis remembered to be careful what you wish for.

Set after season 14. No major character deaths.

i fr cannot thank seth enough for doing this for me. i’ve been in this fandom for 5 years now and this means so much from the creator of the show as well as the creator of literally one of my fav all time characters. sunny has literally changed and saved my life. i actually was able to finally be diagnosed with bpd because of dennis (not in a “because i stan my pookie and i wanna be like him” kind of way, but because i recognized genuine shit about myself that i’d been struggling with for a long time). i’ve been thru a lot of shit since i’ve started the show, including losing several friends due to their homophobia/their own mental illness that they refused to deal with, and i’m so glad i could find new true friends thru this show and re-find seth after our last fandom together. i’m so glad he got into this show and i got the opportunity to meet him and @macdenlover in person. i’m just so happy and thankful rn so thank you @ rob for everything you’ve done for the show and thank you @ seth (as well as my other oomfs, you know who you are) for being true friends 💕

Today I spent about an hour around/with Rob and I'm gonna write about it.

He recognised me from last night, came up and talked to us where I really lost all ability to calm or filter myself (which was, admittedly, already very little). He told me he's been seeing a lot of my Tweets and I asked why he followed me. He said he thought I had "a lot of fun and interesting things to say." I did not expect that, literally at all, I was trying to see if he knew my handle, @/pqdres, was for San Diego's baseball team, so I derailed myself from that conversation a bit lol oops.

The night before this he signed my S10 DVD cover on the plastic protector I had, so he offered to sign it properly when he noticed I had it with me again tonight:

I know I just kind of bulldoze over his words, (He said “Thank you for all the Twitter love”) but it’s because I had a script in my head and.. I'm sure a lot of you guys get it, lol. He didn't seem bothered, which I really appreciate.

He took individual photos with everyone who wanted one (like half the people in the bar (which wasn't even that many) had no interest in him) and when we were taking mine he asked for someone to shine an overhead light so we could get a good picture together bc I offhandedly said I needed to turn off my front flash.

I met him again, a little later at another bar (like Charlie and Glenn in October, he just kinda was walking around and hitting up various bars Four Walls was advertising at) and I apologised for my constant presence around him. The reason I stuck around was because I had one last request for the night, something I very much owed to @macdennissurvivor. I told him Emma was the person who got me into the Sunny fandom, and I would appreciate if he could say hi to her on camera. I started recording and then he said 'Nope give me your phone' and then went on a walk and recorded a 20 second video for her on my phone. I think that moment was a fundamental tilt for me.

I know I criticize this man a bit, but god-fucking-damn-it if he isn't the creator of my favourite show in the whole world, one of my favourite characters of all time, half of my URL, the reason I am writing and creating as much as I currently do, the reason I have made actual, real, deep friendships in the past few years, and he took so much time and patience with me, he recorded a whole video for my friend because he does fucking care. He sees us, this part of the fandom, and he appreciates it: that we’re a community and truly connect through his show. Words really can't express my emotions. Thank you Rob, for this.

i just wanted to send an ask bc my brain is going back to sunny mode, so i want you to know that i’m not saying this lightly when i say that wishing well might be my favourite macdennis fanfic i’ve read. you’ve just encapsulated dennis so perfectly and despite the terrible things he’s done, i can’t help but sympathise, and even relate with his characterisation in ways. their dynamic is so perfectly written, and i literally almost screamed on a train ride when mac and dennis first kissed (and just all of chapter five in general). make sure to take your time with chapter seven, since i don’t want you to rush yourself, and i want you to create something to your satisfaction, but holy shit, i am going to be the most annoying person ever the day when a new chapter drops, since this fic has had my brain in an absolute chokehold since the first time i read it. ilysm and make sure to have a great day xx

songs 2-10: i would say this is kind of early macdennis from dennis's pov (highschool through college years probably); lots of confusion and denial and a balance love/hate of mac, he's unable to come to terms with things

song 11: can't forget this one !

songs 12-18: early macdennis (highschool through early college years) from mac's pov; lots of extreme pining and shame and feeling so in love while thinking its unreciprocated

songs 19-22: later seasons macdennis, more toxic

songs 22-26: songs about dennis leaving for north dakota and mac not wanting him to go/dennis wanting mac to tell him to stay but neither of them say anything...season 12 ddl finale vibes/boggs episode

songs 46-53: chapters 4/5/6--mostly when mac and dennis start banging tbh--when dennis starts realizing more and more of his feelings (and continues to deny them)

songs 54-60: chapter 7--aka dennis being a little bitch and grieving the relationship that he fucked up

songs 61-63: chapter 8 i guess since that's more of an epilogue-y chapter, or at least i have it planned out that way-- mostly just a few great macdennis dynamic songs

honestly, if you've gotten this far through the post, i will say that wishing well, savior complex, bodybag, and killer are some of my absolute favorite macdennis songs on that list and i hope you enjoy this playlist as much as i do!

What are you majoring in college? Is it literature? Cause wishing well has me in a chokehold I felt like I was literally reading an episode of always sunny it’s so good 😭

i am not anywhere near a literature major i fear LMAO i actually will have a biology major and a chemistry minor when i graduate in december! that’s really nice that you think i could be tho 😭 i haven’t even taken any reading/writing classes since 2020 i think
