“You know it! It’s always trouble time when I’m up! Really though I haven’t been able to sleep in about two days? Give or take a day, I can’t really remember at this point! I’ve been running on pure adrenaline and energy drinks, and maybe a little cocaine, maybe.”

“Gil, I-” She can’t finish her sentence; she won’t. Instead her arms wrap tightly around his, burying her face into his rib-cage as if she were a child, a silent sob being let out once she was securely in his arms. “Gil it-it’s been so h-ard! I’ve just b-een so -a-alone!” Her sobs became louder as time moved forwards, not bringing herself to elaborate more on anything, instead clinging to the skeletal being as if he was her last resort; something she couldn’t loose.

Kris tries to calm herself, ending up with heavy breathing and hiccups as she began to catch her breath, still tightly fastened to Gil’s shirt. Really she ends up looking like a child after something traumatic happened rather than an adult having a breakdown in a semi-public spot; not that anyone else but them were there in the first place.

“The question here though is do you want honesty, or what you think is honesty. Truth is I’ve never been okay, ever, in my entire life, it’s one train wreck after another. I’ve tried to drink myself to death, jump off a bridge, hell I’ve even pissed someone dangerous off on purpose to try and provoke them to kill me. Nothing’s worked, I still wake up in the morning with a hangover and the regret looming over me.”

She can’t look at Gil, simply staring down at her own hands, unreadable expression, shaking. “My whole life has basically been nothing but a mistake, everything, all I’ve done is shut people out and close myself off.” 

“Did… did you really want honesty, or just the usual ‘I’m okay everything is fine’ that people actually mean.” She can’t control the small laugh that emits from her, a few sniffles being heard along side the sad laughing.

“I was hoping when we met that the next time you’d just kill me, but you didn’t, I wish you had, death would’ve been better than where I am now.” And she’s in full blown tears, grabbing the bottle of rum  next her and taking a big swig, coughing once she downed it from the lack of air.

“How about a deal, you tell me yours and I tell you mine? Only if you want to, but I want to be very straight forward with you about my past if we are going to continue... what we are.”
