January channel update

So I didn’t give an update for 4 months whoops.

And the grand reason is…. I’m still just working on that Foop video that I mentioned before lol.

It’s just been kind of a hectic few months. Like I got a new Mac book to edit on but they didn’t notify when it arrived in the store so I didn’t get it straight away, then I was sick, and now that I’m using the Mac book it does edit much faster but also it struggles to actually open the editing software I use so it’s been a whole thing.

(And this is just one of the things that’s been getting in the way)

Anyways I’m about half way through editing the video so I think a March upload is most likely. But like I don’t know I feel like I’m jinxing it just saying that like my mac book is going to combust before then or something lol

And there’s no real point in talking about other video ideas because nothings set in stone and I’ll probably change my mind five times about what to do next over the course of editing this video anyway lol.

So, see you next month when I give another update maybe! Who knows!

September Channel Update

Finally giving an update after once again skipping a month!

So the reason I skipped august is that I was actually writing like four different scripts for videos and I didn’t see the point of giving an update until I settled on an idea.

And the idea I decided to pursue is… it’s kinda random but, I’m making a video about Foop/Irep! You know the Fairly Odd Parents character.

Obviously he came back in the reboot recently and that got me thinking about how weird a character he is so I decided to just make a video about him.

And I hadn’t watched most of the episodes he was in before this so watching them all for this video sure was… an experience.

Anyway the script is mostly done I just need to reread the whole thing for a final edit. And also write the conclusion which I’m struggling to think of. That’s always the hardest part of writing the script for me lol.

As for the predicted release date: Idk November hopefully

Anyways I said I was writing four scripts so you might be wondering about the other three! (Who am I talking to, there’s no one reading this)

Well one of them is a sequel to my ‘The Pokémon not on Switch’ video! I’ve done some preliminary work for it, but I’m going to have to wait until PLZA comes out before I can really get stuck into it. Waiting until then will stop my video becoming instantly dated like the first one did! Although weirdly that video still did pretty well even after it was out of date.

I’m not going to bother talking about the other two scripts just yet, since I’m putting them both on hold until after the Foop video is done.

Also in my last post I mention I was working on a GF video which… I’m still going to do but I’m going to wait until next May so it can come out during summer. Let’s hope I’m not distracted with something else by then!

July Channel Update

So I just released my Sonic 3 Bingo video, (I actually got it done with in the month, yay!) And so far it's doing well! Already double the views my previous video got. Which.... Something that took only a month to make instantly outperforming something you worked on for 6 months sure is a feeling.

Tbh I won’t be fully happy with its performance until it’s at 1K views. And sure now it looks like it’s on track for that but I’ve had so many instances of my videos performing okay at first only to instantly peter out that I’m not getting my hopes up lol.

Anyways in other news I actually made my first YT short, which was about a glitch I found in Toree’s panic pack that lets you skip over part of the level.

I actually found another video about that same level and they used a similar glitch but skipped over an even larger chunk of the level. so, kind of makes the glitch I found obsolete lol. Linking their video below:

Anyway the short didn’t get many views (as expected) but the people who did watch it seemed to appreciate it so that’s cool! Also I don’t really care that much if a short doesn’t perform that well.

And one final update is that my Sonic Mania video finally passed 100k views this month! It’s my first scripted video to reach triple K so that’s pretty cool.

And as for upcoming videos I’ve had an idea for a Gravity Falls one for a while. It would be short and I thought it would be an appropriate summer video. But knowing how long I take summer would probably be over by the time it’s done lol.

Anyways we’ll see if that’s what I end up doing. Hey, at least I’m feeling more positive about my channel this month!

June channel update

So, first things first: I released my TDI 2024 video and it completely flopped. I was kinda excepting that to happen since my original TDI video hasn't been getting many views for the past 5 months, so it was pretty inevitable that the follow up would also struggle.

I was hoping that it being about the new season would generate views, but that simply didn't happen. And to be honest that video failing was incredibly crushing. I've been in a pretty bad place mental health wise since its release. It's not just the videos fault, there are other aspects of my life contributing. But basically I had put so much time into that video that it was distracting me from the more negative aspects of my life. And when it released and it failed it was just like a sudden tidal wave of negative realisations washed over me.

That being said I am still making videos! But I just want to make smaller videos that are less of a commitment for the time being so its not so much of a crushing blow when they inevitably fail.

So, on to my upcoming videos:

Sonic 3 Bingo: If you scroll down you will see that I have already posted my bingo sheet! But... I'm also still making the video!

Posting the bingo sheet early was my way of making it 'less of a commitment', because now if I take too long to make the video to the point where my predictions become out dated I can at least say that I already posted my predictions somewhere.

I'm hoping the video won't take that long to make (I think it will be roughly 15 mins long). The only part that might make it take long is me wanting to add some drawings. So I just have to make sure I make them super simple so I don't get too preoccupied with that.

The bingo sheet in the video will also be slightly different to the one I posted here. Basically the tumblr one is just a streamlined version of the video predictions.

Predicted release date is either end of July or sometime in August but I'm not going to try and put too much pressure on myself with this thing.

Other stuff: As always I have other video ideas for the future as well, but I'm going to keep it non committal by not saying what they are.

But I will commit to giving another update next month! Maybe.

May channel and video progress update

TDI 2024 review: I’m glad I had the foresight to delay the predicted release date to June last month because this time I can say for 100% certain it will be out in June!!

I would love to say first week of June but I do have a bunch of family stuff coming up so idk how that’s going to delay it, but at the very least it shouldn’t be enough to delay it into July lol.

I was disappointed that it took me this long to release it but I just found out that TDI is only just premiering in the US on June first so it will actually be kind of timely. I can’t believe it took them this long to air the show in America though… and it’s only the first season as well lol.

Other stuff: As for what’s coming up after… idk lol. I looked at my sonic 3 bingo and I do think my predictions are cute but not sure if I want to commit to a video. I couldn’t even commit to watching the Knuckles series I only watched the first 2 eps before I gave up lol.

And I do have other ideas for stuff I’d like to do but they’re all big commitment ideas and after spending way too long on this TDI review idk if I want to jump into another big project right away. Tbh I think my YouTube channel might just end up taking second priority in my life after this video is done. Which is a good thing, it feels like I’ve been way to focused on making this video for the past few months.

But I’m not going to let the channel die just yet. Here’s hoping my TDI review gets more views than this blog post is going to get!

April channel and video progress update

TDI 2024 review: I’ve started editing the actual video yay!!!! I’ve edited about 8 minutes so far and I would have been further along by now but…. I decided I wanted to do some illustrations for the video and that’s taken over a week just to one of them lol. It’s not even a particularly complex or amazing drawing I’m just not great at using my graphics tablet. Anyway I’ve nearly finished that drawing and I don’t think I’m going to add any more after that one so hopefully then the video editing will commence in earnest.

Predicted release date: I’ve noticed every time I say a predicted release date I end up pushing it back by another month. So this time I’m just going to say end of June to hopefully avoid that happening again lol. But like in reality I would really like the video out before then. If it does come out in June it means my review of seasons 1 and 2 will literally be a year apart and idk I was hoping it wouldn’t be that long a gap between them. But life keeps getting in the way. Sigh

Sonic 3 bingo: Honestly I’m starting to doubt this video’s even going to happen. It’s just a bunch of info has come out about the movie now and the more info that comes out the more pointless this video seems. It would have been better if I had just released it immediately after sonic 2 had come out.

The Knuckles tv show is out now so I suppose I’ll have to force myself to sit through that before I could make the video. I watched episode 1 and it did not spell out good things for me lol.

Anyways I won’t bother with a predicted release date for this video since I’m no longer sure if I’ll make it

Other stuff: I passed 2.5 subscribers this month! That’s one quarter of the way to 10k and it only took me 4 years! Let’s hope it doesn’t take another 12 years just to get to 10k!

I thought these monthly updates would be fun but now its just sad reminder about how little time I have to work on videos lol

March channel and video progress update

So in January I said I wanted to make monthly channel updates…. And then I immediately didn’t make one in February lol.

It was because I was just working on the same TDI video I said I was working on in January and it felt pointless giving an update when there wasn’t much to report.

But now it’s been TWO months and… I’m still working on the same video but I’ll give an update about it this time!

TDI 2024 review: I finished the script and am now in the process of editing all the audio I recorded! Which is taking a while because the raw recording was around 3 hours and it’s going to be edited down to less than an hour lol

(I have to retake a lot of line reads and pause the recording whenever there’s a lot of background noise)

Editing the audio is always the worst part for me because the audio always sounds bad and I’m so self conscious about it. Also I recorded alot of it during the day so you can hear bird tweets in the background alot. Hopefully people will just think that’s nice lol.

Anyway still not sure what the total length of the video will be but I’m suspecting around 55 minutes.

Also I structured the video similarly to the first video where I have dedicated chapters to all the characters of note. In the first video there were five characters who didn’t get a chapter because they left early and I didn’t have much to say about them. But this time round there are only 3 characters that don’t get a dedicated chapter but all three are ones that actually made it to the merge!

The first is Axel who didn’t get one because I just say everything I need to about her in the Ripper chapter. The next is Raj because i say everything I need to about him in the Bowie and Wayne chapters. And the last one is, surprisingly, Julia. Not because I have nothing to say about her, but because I talk about her a lot in like 5 other chapters that there was no need to give her a dedicated chapter lol

Anyways as for the predicted release date: Maybe Late April but more likely some time in May

Sonic 3 movie bingo: I haven’t done any more work on this since I’ve just been focusing on the TDI video, but just thought I’d mention it’s still happening.

It’s funny, like a couple days after I made my January update about they released a bunch of news about the movie including the cast and a trailer for the Knuckles show. The cast doesn’t really affect my bingo predictions that much since I didn’t speculate on that (I guess now I could speculate on what roles they’ll have)

The show probably will because Wade is apparently going to be a prominent character and I actually did have a prediction about what they would do with him in the movie lol

As for the predicted release date: I guess either June or July

Other projects: I said last time that I had a bunch of other ideas for projects but didn’t want to say what they were since it would be months since it would be months until I would get to them.

And now I’m not feeling those projects as much and have ideas for a bunch of different projects I’d rather do! But I’m sure by the time I get round to be able to do them I’ll no longer feel like doing those projects and would have had ideas for different projects I could do.

So that’s basically why it’s not worth saying what they are until it’s time to do them 😂

Anyways see you for the April update where I’ll hopefully be close to finishing the TDI video! Maybe I’ll have finished already, that’s being hopeful lol

January Channel/ Video progress update

Hey! So I thought it be a fun idea to do monthly updates regarding my channel and what videos I'm working on (This is mostly for myself, as evidenced by the fact that this blog has no followers lol)

Anyway here are my currently planned upcoming videos:

TDI 2024 review: Top priority at the moment is getting a review of the latest TDI season out! I'm like half way done with the script and it's looking like this will actually be longer than my review of the first season, which is crazy to me I really was no expecting that. It will still be a couple months until it's done because it is long and I do have a job outside of Youtube so I can't work on it as much as I'd like. Honestly I'm really feeling the pressure because this is the first time I've done a direct follow up to a previous video, and that one was really successful so it will be more crushing than usual if this one doesn't perform that well lol. But I'm having fun working on it and will be glad to get it out there regardless

Sonic Movie 3 Bingo: So this one is going to be a bingo card of my predictions for the third sonic movie! I actually wrote most of it as soon as the second one came out, but then got distracted by other things so never made it into a video. But I reread it recently and thought most my predictions were pretty funny so it still feels worth making it! And it's now or never considering the movie literally comes out in December lol. Still going to finish the TDI review first, but after that's done I should still have a few months until the movie comes out. I guess the only thing that could change is they could release a trailer or that Knuckles tv show could come out and void some of my predictions.

So for the time line I'd say the most likely releases are the TDI 2024 review coming out in late March/ early April and the sonic 3 bingo in may or June

And I have a few other video ideas too, but it feels a bit pointless talking about them now if it's going to be half a year before I'm going to be able to start working on them.

I really wanted to get six videos out this year but already looks like I'm not going to manage that. Oh well, just got to keep working on what I can! See you next month where I'll probably just update you about the TDI review again lol

Why have two separate people asked me what the TDI reboot is called in the comments of my video

Like

1) the title of the reboot is basically in the title of my video??

2) I literally say what it’s called in the video

In the midst of scripting a video about a topic and just found a popular video released a couple days ago that’s… not exactly about the topic I want to make a video about but it is about a subsection of the topic I’m making the video about.

And like it’s fine, I watched the video and it’s different enough that my video still feels worth making (just now I will have to acknowledge their video exists when I get to aforementioned subsection)

But I’m worried that this video existing will encourage either the same person or someone else to just make a video about the topic I want to make a video about. And if that happens then I will truly start to worry that my video is not worth making.
