IT’S THEORY TIME!

I’VE BEEN HOLDING THIS THEORY SINCE MONSTER REUNION CAME OUT LIKE.. 8 MONTHS AGO, SO PLEASE PARDON ME IF I GET TO HYPED.

Ok so first of all let’s see what got ton of gems corrupted… 

Centi tells Stevo that everyone was running away from something, and after that, it was all noise… “You heard something. From the sky, a sound. A song? And then…”

And this is also further handled on “Same Old World” where Lapis shows that everyone was running in a hurry out of the earth and because of that they leaved her on earth trapped in the mirror. 

That looks like a light, sure, a blinding light, but what got me is when Centipeedle CLEARLY talks about SOUND and not LIGHT.

In the same episode, Garnet talks about how “It’s sort of like if MC Bear-Bear didn’t tear the fabric of his arm, but the fabric of his mind.”, so the nuke (let’s call it like that so is easier kie?) wasn’t spreading a kind of virus or something that messes with their body structure, aka, their light.

Now, back to an episode, season 1B, first Stevenbomb, “The message”. 

What’s so important about it? I think is a lil picky, but re-watching season one it really got my attention the way Amethyst reacted to The Wailing Stone

At first it was kind of just covering her ears and being a lil moody, but time passed and there was a point where she was getting desperate. 

(weirdly, Garnet and Pearl seems kind of okay, but that may be because they are in general more resistant, i think)

And you see, for the ones who don’t know, sound is basically waves that travel through matter, a constant and loud sound can get to the point of physically hurting you.

Actually, one of the discovering that Nikola Tesla did was that, with vibrations, you could make something shake, and if it was constant and strong enough, it would break, it’s exactly what earthquakes do! and guess what, sound is, in fact, vibrations!. 

Now, the most common experiment about this is putting some sort of glass and turning the volume slowly as loud as possible, after a moment the vibrations would be so much that it basically shatters.

What does this has to do with gem corruption? as I said before, sound needs MATTER to “travel around”, so OF COURSE they couldn’t make the bomb attack from space as a sound!, thats where the light makes the job.

You see, light is also waves that travel around, thing is, light doesn’t need a medium to travel, so Homeworld basically found a way to make a light explosion, turn it into sound, and attempt to shatter the gems in that way. 

But how did they turned the light into sound? Waving stones.

You see, in Gem Hunt we get a pretty short view of what is possibly a HUGE waving stone. 

Homeworld probably put them all around the world so they would make the sound travel without problem, the original waving stones where probably little and used to send messages from homeworld/space to earth (Like Lapis did),but then they found out that they could use it for shattering gems, their plan was basically use “vibrations to break glass” but in a massive way. 

So, why didn’t the gems shattered? they… kind of did! Corruption is basically their “light forms” shattered, its like the noise didn’t exactly broke the gem, but broke the coding of the gem, corrupted it, like when someone messes with the data of a video game and it gets all glitchy! they shattered their data, their “brains”. 

Of course, they didn’t literally SHATTERED them, but having in mind that Homeworld made the cluster experiments with Crystal Gems (As Garnet says explicitly) then it was probably a way to prove their weapons again. They basically used their enemies, the rebels, as lab-rats, to see if their massive weapon would work, just like the cluster.

Homeworld pretty  much tortured the gems with a screeching, loud and constant sound long enough to shatter their light forms.

The Fate of Pink Diamond

Everyone is posting their theories on who shattered Pink Diamond. I’ve seen it going every direction: Yellow Diamond did it; White Diamond did it; Pearl did it. And while I’m a big believer that Pearl was, at the VERY least, involved in her shattering, I also have an alternate theory.

Consistently, whenever Pink Diamond’s demise has been mentioned–in her presence–Pearl has always shown great distress. At first I assumed it was grief; if you subscribe the the theory that Pearl belonged to Pink Diamond, it might be caused by any residual feelings she might have about her Diamond. Perhaps it has been because the act has ruined Rose’s name or because of how Steven found out.

We don’t know why, but Pearl has always shown great duress whenever Pink Diamond’s shattering is brought up.

The Crystal Gem rebellion was only as successful as it was in great part due to Rose’s healing abilities. So long as they weren’t shattered, she could bring her comrades back from mortal injury with her tears. It’s very likely that, particularly during the early stages of the rebellion, that their chances were dismally low.

Lots of people have pointed out that only a diamond can break a diamond, which has been one of the big reasons why people believe Pink was shattered by another diamond. The only problem is why? We’ve seen that Yellow, though she manages her grief well, is still very torn up by the loss of Pink Diamond.

Though she was hasty in The Trial and most of her actions could easily be perceived as an attempt to cover up her own part in the shattering of Pink Diamond, Yellow has never been a patient gem. She is quick to anger and though she may keep a calm facade, she has always been quick to lash out.

In Message Received, even when Peridot is still obeying respectful protocols, when she tries to convince Yellow to abort the Cluster and preserve the Earth she lays into Peridot. 

This is before Peridot outright disobeys her orders and calls her diamond a clod. She probably would have given Peridot the same treatment she gave the Zircons if she had been physically present. I really don’t believe Yellow had anything to do with what happened to Pink Diamond.

A lot of people have been concerned by White Diamond’s failure to appear at the trial of the gem who was believed to have killed Pink Diamond. It is very suspicious, especially since we know nothing of White Diamond. We only have the very barest of ideas of what she looks like because of the murals on the moon base.

We of course see something of her likeness on Homeworld.

Blue Zircon mentioned during The Trial that Rose Quartz had already been an established threat for a few hundred years. This means that Pink Diamond wasn’t shattered until a few hundred years after the start of the rebellion.

What if the Crystal Gems were losing the war? What if they needed something to turn the tide in their favor? What if they could get their hands on a bargaining chip? In the early stages of the rebellion, there likely weren’t many gems on Rose’s side. It seems possible that, even during the events of The Answer, that Rose and Pearl were the only rebel gems. After all, if they wanted to wage an assault against Blue Diamond and her court, wouldn’t they want to bring more than two gems?

What if they knew they didn’t stand a chance? So they wanted to level the playing field. If only a diamond can shatter a diamond, it’s unlikely that Rose or Pearl would have been able to deal the killing blow. However, that doesn’t mean they can’t destroy a diamond’s physical form.

What if Pearl and/or Rose managed to destroy Pink Diamond’s physical form and took her gem? What if they brought her gem to the diamonds and turned the war into a hostage negotiation? Pink Diamond could be safely returned but only if Homeworld abandoned the Earth. This doesn’t seem like too desperate a tactic, especially if there are only two gems standing against the might of their planet.

What if they tried to bargain with White Diamond? A diamond’s life for a single planet seems like a fair trade. But what if White Diamond wasn’t willing to negotiate. What if White Diamond forsake Pink Diamond, shattering her when her gem was put up for ransom?

After all, we’ve seen a mural depicting a gem of a very great visual similarity to White once before. A mural illustrating Rose Quartz standing before White Diamond, holding something very pink and diamond-shaped between them. All while White Diamond lashes out.

Maybe the reason Pearl gets upset at the mention of Pink Diamond is because they never meant to shatter her; but it was because of their actions that she was shattered at all.

Based on Lapis's outburst "Don't put me in charge!" From "Alone at Sea" And what we know from "Same Old World" a theory for you...

We assume Lapises are rare. So rare that if they were to have any part of the war, they would be high ranking...

Like a General. Someone who could easily be trampled on accident during a war, being in the wrong place at the wrong time, and be mistaken for a rebel gem.

Does Harry Dresden evolve as a person at all? Does he ever meet any women who aren’t sexually appealing to him or whose only purpose in life is to be sexually appealing?

I really want to like the series but if it doesn’t get better I’m probably going to quit.

So you’re telling me that Izzy Lightwood, best forensic pathologist in New York, which requires extensive study in biology of both mundane and supernatural things, does not know what Yin Fen is? That if she did not know what it is, she did not even look it up in the Institute’s big-ass library before using it repeatedly? That she did not analyse the thing to figure out its properties and side effects?
