Belated update!!

-Wisp was good

-Polyphia was good

-Deftones was great!! Ik their live shows can be hit or miss because either a) Chino's voice on that day is shot to shit or b) the band's out of rhythm. There was a tiny bit of the latter but I thought Chino sounded great, no problems singing or screaming so props to him!! They played the usual stuff and also Headup which was unexpected but extremely welcome, love that song!! Also during My Mind is a Mountain they had clips from The Holy Mountain as the visuals and damn I need to rewatch it soon I love that fucking movie. Anyways great time!!

-getting to the main negatives of the experience, the venue kinda sucked balls and the crowd was pretty hectic. I was in GA a bit aways from the stage and it definitely felt like I was trapped in a can of sardines a lot of the time, plus there's the usual issue of maneuvering to try and see the stage at all through a sea of heads. Also got shoved a lil due to pit proximity and got a lil bit of liquor-splash from some dickheads throwing their drinks around in the crowd. But even with that I can put that aside for the main reason I was even there

-SOAD was fucking incredible!!! :') I'm surprised I still have my voice bc I was singing my heart out to every song. They played so many bangers (though in hindsight I don't think they played anything from Steal This Album??). Loved Daron's Merle Haggard cover that transitioned into Lonely Day. Loved that they did a full-band version of Dam. I loved it all. The emotions and the weight of it all really only hit me when I got back to my hotel room but it's honestly fucking wild that I finally got to see the band that's meant so much to me for so many years. Needless to say my inner teenager's fully healed.

Actually fucking crazy that when I first joined tumblr I was a cringey lil 16 y/o posting in the System of a Down fandom (which if it still exists can definitely not be found on tumblr anymore) and now at 30 I'm finally seeing them live in less than a month. 16 y/o me would absolutely be shitting bricks if they knew about this lol
