snapshot to this weeks Madventure on Youtube.😂 This weeks episode sea’s a mashup of repairs. I think Davey had too much rum and lost track of his sequence’s the Lazy Bones. Hope he can regain some credit over the next upcoming episodes.😬💀 This week we take apart the rudder and reposition back into its original position. Make a start on the hatch seal with foam that sticks like s#*^T to a blanket. We invent our own solo system to fastening bolts and take a look at replacing the companion way door. Apologies Madventure fans, Davey Bones is a week in front with his release dates to the current vlog. 💀😬 Here’s a piccy of a nice cuppa grog, Davey made before we ripped out the portside window. Everything had to be cut bespoke on site by myself and Davey. We found out, a boat has a lot of curves to deal with, when tailoring the window to suit. We still haven’t finished the inside to the window one year on. Hopefully we will have this done in 2020. Along with the endless list of repairs a boat creates.😹 The weather gods weren’t being kind. Final Instalment to the Cowes Week, Madventure Series. The push back home, leaving Eastbourne Marina, In hope, to make it home. Fatigue is setting in, captain suffers with Delirium. Sailing round the Needles was an experience, weather could have been a little better. Now it’s time to push on. They say the calm before the storm, my journey was just that, I thought, I was getting some distance, breaking out 7.5 knots. The wind just died, Poof gone. The storm was on my ass. Time to fire up the outboard, Head into Eastbourne Tidal lock, escape the storm, thats on its way. Coming to a screen near you. The Cowes week Madventure continues tonight from 7pm. Time to leave East Cowes Marina and embark upon a trip round the Needles. Hope I don’t make a hashtag of it leaving the Marina. As we embark, upon the needles, pretend the sun is shining and the sea is a tropical blue. You could almost be in paradise. As we arrive on the east side of Isle Of Wight, shipping lane to Portsmouth, Alex Thompson’s old boat came flying past us. Sea was a little choppy at the time. Perfect way to finish our trip around the Isle of Wight. Lest We Forget I don’t do personal on Mad Cat Sailing. I felt this one was appropriate for today. Remembering the ones that fought for freedom of the world, we know today. The person in the picture is my grandad. He asked permission from his parents to go and fight in the war, even tho he was under age. My grandad served in the Royal Navy, out in the Mediterranean, Malta and the Nile. He was one of the lucky ones that survived the war and received his de mob papers and bravery medals. Davey bones check, Brother check, Cowes checked in. Time to party, celebrate the journey so far. My first big trip as day skipper, solo sailing the south coast of the UK, Ipswich to east Cowes Marina. Got to say it wasn’t without it’s ups and downs. Weathering my first real bad weather, sailing on a 24ft yacht. The ocean let’s u know how small you are and who’s in control. Learnt a few things along the way. Like don’t trust phone apps for safe passage planning to notify the folks back home. (Safe trax’s) Which saw everyone around the east coast on the look out for me, back in 2018. Thankyou to all that was on the look out. As I found out when I arrived safely at Ramsgate Marina. Enjoy guys the journey so far. Wednesday 7pm.
