I have a rant about two characters who I think have similar traits, and not in a good way.

Spoilers for the Harry Potter universe and Captain America Civil War, that’s your warning for spoilers, you can’t get mad at me for spoilers.

So, after talking with a friend in a discord server, I want to come here and talk about the terrible similarities between Dumbledore and Steve Rogers. Now on the surface, they don’t appear to have many, but if you take them from specifically CA:CW and PoA, there are many.

For one, they both have the mentality of “sacrifice a few people for the greater good.”

In CA:CW, Steve doesn’t want to sign the accords because he doesn’t want to be restricted. He is willing to sacrifice the few lives of civilians, in order to save stop whatever threat. Yes, people will die in a situation like the battle of NY, but when he doesn’t try and save the lives that can be saved, that makes him shitty. For example, in CA:CW, his whole thing is about Bucky. He didn’t care about anyone’s feelings, he only cared about Bucky. When he went after Bucky, and the bridge collapsed and that chase was happening in Germany (I think? It’s been a bit since I’ve seen the movie) many people got hurt that didn’t need to get hurt. Or the airport fight, that was no need. He only cared about one thing, finding Bucky. He was willing to sacrifice anyone in order to save his best friend. He hid the death of someone he considered a friend, parent’s death, just because the killer was his best friend. And Bucky stans don’t come for me, he is one of my favorite characters. I know he was the winter soldier when he killed them, but they still died. Steve took Tony’s money to look for his parent’s killer, because Steve was stuck in the past. He was seen as a great person to the world, yet he did some shitty things. Yes Tony wasn’t a good person either, yet he tried to make sure that the world was safe, Steve only wanted Bucky to be safe.

Now onto Dumbledore. Throughout the entire series, he proves that he doesn’t care about Harry like he tries to say he does. If he really cared about the safety of his students, he wouldn’t have let Voldemort entire Hogwarts, multiple years. You can’t tell me he didn’t know, because if he���s this great wizard like everyone says, then he would totally know that Voldemort was in the school. And in PoA, when Sirius escapes Azkaban after being falsely accused of being a traitor, it comes out that he knew Sirius wasn’t the traitor, yet he kept it quiet for TWELVE YEARS. He led multiple people to their deaths, even if it wasn’t explicit, he was still responsible for the deaths of people like James and Lily, Remus, Sirius, Tonks, and many more. He was only worried about Harry beating Voldemort. He left Harry in an abusive home because he wanted Harry to be moldable to his liking. He wanted Harry to trust him so he left Harry in a home where he wasn’t welcome. And Sirius should never have stayed loyal to him after it came out that Dumbledore knew that Sirius was innocent, yet he said nothing. Yes he’s not the minister, but he has so much power that he could’ve gotten Sirius a trial to prove he’s innocent. He was biased towards the Gryffindor students, specifically Harry, because he wanted Harry to be his pawn in a game bigger than Harry.

Both are written as characters you’re supposed to love and trust, yet if you really look into what they’ve done, they are not good people, they only want people to think they’re good people. And if you disagree with me, that’s your opinion. But this is what I think about these two characters.

There are a few other ones, but also 2 years ago, they did this to their rookie, Julio Rodriguez after he flopped trying to get to third base

GOURDO: "i would be a wolf I think."
