My name is Arielle Eline Anderson. I am the youngest of seven daughters. My father's name is Tristan Anderson and I was born in Denmark. My mother was killed in a freak boating accident in front of all of us when I was a child. I barely remember her. Now we live in America, and... Well... It's a long story after that. My mindset today.
Sorry guys, I need to vent. My anxiety is kicking in and I am SO not in a good mood right now.
So today was just a normal day. I woke up after talking to my boyfriend on the phone on his way home from work and I ended up passing out once I got off the phone with him. Woke up, felt refreshed, only to find that my roommate needed my help with her video thingie. Totally fine, whatever. I didn’t wanna have to get up but whatever.
We get done with that, and I can’t fucking get into my room. Why? Because the new door locks that my school INSISTED on buying for no fucking reason are being updated and I had to wait for the RD to let me in. Whoop de fucking doo.
After that I go to class. I find out when I’m on my computer that the Quidditch match that we had scheduled THREE HOURS AWAY on Saturday at noon was moved to Saturday at 10am. WHAT. THE FUCK. And this is after the same fucking person told me I’m doing my math wrong about how much people need to pay me for gas. BITCH I KNOW MY CAR BETTER THAN YOU, DO NOT QUESTION MY MATH. I DID IT THREE TIMES.
So I tried messaging my mom. Because I have to be one of the people driving and I’m seeing if she can let me and my teammates I’m driving spend the night on Friday so I only have to drive 2 hours instead of three in the morning.
She hasn’t answered me.
And then Daniel tells me his hives are acting up really badly and it’s so bad he may not go to work. And then he says he’s going to fencing. Boys, I will never understand them. Either way, worried about my baby. :/
NEEDLESS TO SAY, THIS TUESDAY IS A FUCKING NIGHTMARE.
I like plans! I like knowing what is going on, when it’s going on and what we’re doing beforehand and when people poke HOLES in my plan I hate having to scramble to fix it!

"Well, I'm not entirely sure. She was a baby when she and I went back to the sea," Ariel responded, not bothered at all by his questions and placing a hand on his to show him she wasn't upset. "My father changed her into her mermaid form and I was able to shift on my own and when the curse hit Melody was almost three years old. I never tried seeing if she could do it or not. Food for thought, I suppose."
Ariel noted the look in his eyes and gave his hand a gentle squeeze, smiling at him. "Don't worry. It's alright. Melody being born of the land and of the sea was a momentous occasion. She was the first of her kind, and my father adored her. Sometimes I wonder what my mother would have said, you know?" she asked, her expression softening as she looked out to the horizon.
It was days like these after the curse was broken that Ariel would reflect on her mother. Would Athena have approved of everything her daughter went through? Would she be angry? Had Ariel's life been nothing but a disappointment? It bothered her, to say the least, to never know what her mother would have thought, but she always tried to hide it. You can't change the past.

"Oh I’d love that, Jim! I’ve always wondered that that doohickey did and I’m glad to have finally met someone who knows it’s function," she answered, grinning up at him still as she pulled herself into an indian-style sitting position when she listened to his story.
Ariel watched him closely, totally ensconced in his story as he started using his hands to tell it along with him. It was almost as if she was witnessing it herself. She loved stories like these, with pirates and adventures. Sometimes she wished she’d been on an adventure like the one he’d been on so she had some stories she could tell to someone.
It wasn’t until Jim got to the point when he spoke of the officers being killed, and her expression darkened at the story. Such cruelties were spoken frequently of by her father when she was growing up, but she scooted closer and placed her head on his shoulder when he fell silent, hoping it would bring him some sort of comfort. “I’m sorry for your loss, Jim."
Ariel blinked when she felt his gaze on her again, smiling when she felt the warmth return to his features. Jim was back, he was no longer in that dark place he’d gone to for those few moments. “My tail’s nothing special. We as merpeople are born with the ability to change from fins to legs, but when my mother was killed by pirates when I was a child my father kept that ability from all of us. He granted it back to me when I saved my prince the second time before we got married and I’ve been able to do it ever since. My father felt that even though I had no connection with the human world to hold onto, my daughter was still half human, and he wanted us to have the option to visit the human world if we wanted to."

Ariel had to release a laugh at the look on his face. She’d forgotten how comfortable she’d gotten with people to be telling them about herself from the other world, but she guessed that had to do with the fact that everyone knew about magic and it was not something that someone would tell her wasn’t real. That was never fun. She looked back up at him and tilted her head slightly at the man at his words. “Yeah, I guess he wasn’t. But I was sixteen, what the hell did I know, right?" she asked, giving him a small smile. “But que sera sera."
Ariel grinned when he mentioned the sextant in the window, bouncing a little in excitement. “Yeah! I love that sexton! It’s one of my favorites! Though, until recently I wasn’t entirely sure what the name of it was, but it’s still there. My window just got a little more crowded when I got more shipments in. Though, lately it seems more people wander in since they know some of the things I have belong to them. Did that belong to you?"
The mermaid’s eyes shined at the prospect of a story, wanting to know all about the handsome man and his adventures, and she felt her grin widen when he bargained with her. “Deal. But I can’t promise it’s an interesting story on my part. Go ahead, you go first."

"You weren’t?" she asked, tilting her head slightly as her blue eyes focused on Jim. She’d heard from Dr. Wale about how others came from other lands, like how he came from the world without color and Jefferson came from Wonderland, but she wondered what place Jim was from. She listened closely to his words, nodding when appropriate, but soon she felt a small grin form on her features. He was a sailor! A real sailor! Not the kind for recreation like Eric was. He was the real thing!
"You were a sailor? That sounds amazing, Jim! Did you go on any adventures? Have you lived on the sea all your life?" she found herself asking, her excitement getting the best of her as she looked at him. Ariel was always curious about sailors. Sure, her fellow mermaids interacted with sailors, but that usually involved the men dying in some way. That was never good.
Geez this man was beautiful. What the hell was she doing? Please don’t be staring. Dammit Ariel focus! He’s talking to you! “No, not always. It’s nice to have a break every so often, though. I like ships. It’s always so peaceful on them," she mused, turning back to look him in the eye when he asked about the Enchanted Forest. “Well, to be completely honest I was a princess. My father was the king of Atlantica, and I fell in love with a human when I was sixteen. Daddy didn’t like that too much and he destroyed my collection of human things I’d collected over the years. Long story short, a sea witch made me a deal to give me legs in exchange for my voice and she almost destroyed my chances with my prince but we got my voice back and we thought we killed her, happily ever after, right? If you’ve read that book ‘The Little Mermaid’ it’s the basic idea. I don’t turn into sea foam at the end and I got my prince…"
Ariel’s expression darkened slightly, looking out to the horizon. “Things didn’t work out in the end. The sea witch somehow survived and after I had our first and only child he ran off with her. Guess happy endings only happen for people who don’t disobey their parents, y’know?" she asked, giving him a small smile. “During the curse I owned an antique shop. It’s over down the street from Granny’s? Maybe you’ve seen it. All kinds of goodies in there. But I feel I’m dampening the mood, tell me of your adventures Jim."

Ariel felt her blush darken and spread to her chest, now more than a little aware of the fact she was a little too scantily clad to be in public with her seashells covering her top half and her tail trailing behind her. Whoops. Oh! The attractive sailor was talking! Listen, Ariel, listen! Don’t get distracted by his eyes! And the boat. “Jim…" she tried the name on her lips, smiling at the sound of it. “The pleasure is all mine, Jim."
The redhead reached up and shook his hand, slowly. Dammit, the eyes again. Before she knew it she was sitting on the edge of the boat, tail gleaming in the sunlight as she blinked up at him. “I swim here every day these days… It calms me. Then again I did it when we all were cursed as well, but without the tail," she explained, gesturing to the green scales she had. Ariel sighed, annoyed with her fins after a moment of sitting on the ship and soon the tail shifted into her legs, a flowing green skirt replacing the green scales.
Ariel tilted her head slightly up at him, her eyes scanning the vessel she was currently on as she smiled. “So, you are a sailor? Were you one in the Enchanted Forest?" she asked, curiosity getting the best of her as she pulled her legs onto the boat with her.

Ariel sighed as she glided through the water near the docks. It was nice and peaceful these days; the curse was broken, the Evil Queen was gone-for now. Unfortunately, that also meant that Henry was missing, but she was confident that Emma and the others would find him. Henry would be home soon. If Emma was anything like Ariel was with Melody, she’d find him.
Green scales shone in the sunlight, the redhead gliding beneath the water until she caught sight of a lone ship. She’d seen this ship before, even during the curse. This belonged to that one man… What was his name? Chris? She wasn’t entirely sure what his identity was in their old world, but Ariel was pretty sure she’d seen him before.
The mermaid swam to the small boat, pulling herself up to peek at the man, only to see a pair of gorgeous eyes staring back at her. “Oh. Hi! I’m so sorry, I was just curious, and I’ve seen you around before and I never knew your name and—" Oh my god Ariel, shut up and get to the point. The mermaid flushed a deep shade of red, pulling herself up and smiling up at him. “Hi, I’m Ariel. Nice to meet you."
