Will my voice reach the outside world? 

Spoilers for the entire game. If you ever wanted to play V3 and haven't gotten around to it yet, I highly recommend not watching this until you have. 

I uploaded my first Danganronpa vid VIP exactly 5 years ago today (2/10/2017). And then starting in September of that year I began playing through V3 as soon as it was released globally, going in completely blind. There was a good amount of time afterwards that I thought about the game nonstop. I don't think this is my favorite game of the series, but it resonated with me the most emotionally. And I guess I thought about it so hard that eventually I came up with this idea. 

As for the video itself... I started working on it July 2018 (at least that's when I created the file) so between all the other Danganronpa vids I released, this was actually the main project for 3.5 years. A lot of it was spent working on a two second segment and then dropping it for six months haha. I had certain deadlines in mind to finish this by (10th anniversary of Danganronpa, anniversary of V3 release...) but whoops never actually reached those goals. Well at least this date is a suitable enough anniversary for me. 

Thanks to all the folks who helped me as I was making the vid! Shout out to the folks at Spiral once again, since I couldn't get any of the content I needed without your help. Thanks to Mango and Sol for beta feedback. And most of all, thanks to my sister for letting me bug her all the time with my ideas and helping me with certain parts of this video. Glad you were willing to put up with me. :) 

In the end, I think I've done all I could with this video to the best of my current ability. There were some ideas that I had but couldn't execute due to lack of skill in one way or another, but I still learned a lot making this. I truly hope someone out there enjoys it.

“Same streets, same crowds too. Yeah, Shibuya hasn’t changed a bit.”

As soon as I found out about a new TWEWY anime (from out of nowhere!!), I knew I’d have to remake my vid for the third time. It’s actually the first time I edited a video as episodes came out each week, so it was definitely a fun experience. Though I suppose having an existing guide for what I wanted to do in the vid helped haha. It’s definitely more polished than my original vids due to the nature of anime vs. me capturing my footage through desperate means. Regardless of some issues I had with the adaptation, thank you for giving me a fantastic looking show to edit with.

Truthfully, no matter how many times I make this video, or watch it across its different iterations, it always makes me emotional. I’m glad to be able to recreate the experience once more. Especially as the sequel is quickly approaching…

As a final note, thank you for 10k subscribers! I haven’t been motivated to make a lot of vids over the past year (for reasons perhaps easy to guess), so unfortunately I won’t be doing a cute milestone vid for it. But I just want to say I appreciate everyone who likes to watch my vids. :)

Anyway, I just wanted to make this for a while. Why? I honestly don't have a good reason. And well, you can probably tell this was made in a day lol. But I think there's a certain line between stupid and sincere that I delicately balance. After all, I wouldn't have made this if I didn't enjoy myself the entire time.

I also consider this video to be something of a promise (shout out to the folks who recognize the hint for what it is), but it may take a little while longer.

No matter the current status of the series, I really love Danganronpa and I'm happy to celebrate such a good story.

I’ve been keeping up with Homestuck^2 because I’m in too deep not to, but HOLY FUCK this last update was so bad I was almost crying from laughter. It’s not even bad in the dull lifeless way that past updates have been, this is B A D in ways I hadn’t even been prepared for.

I’m obviously not the audience here, but I just can’t imagine how this can be construed as good in any way.

 With this entry, I feel like I was really able to dig into what defines the thirsty series. After struggling with both artistic vision and motivation, I'm glad that this encapsulates all the thematic elements I had in mind. 

Though truthfully, I myself am not as partial to vitamin water. Given the choice, regular water all the way. I'm just boring like that.

I think this is the product of many years of thinking about Revolutionary Girl Utena, from reading tons of essays to watching many different videos. For the longest time I've wanted to edit something for the show, but honestly I feel quite spoiled when it comes to Utena AMVs. There's just so many good ones out there that I didn't really feel that there was something out there I could do!

But I forced myself to think about what I loved most about the show, and honestly it's Anthy. There are just so many facets to her character, and she's who I've thought most about throughout the years. My view of her has changed so much over time, and this video encapsulates all of that. Each piece was chosen deliberately and with care, and I hope that a bit of who I feel Anthy is came across. 

Needless to say, this show means a lot to me, Anthy means a lot to me, and I'm really glad I made this video.
