THE NEW TV MAN SONG YOUTUBE KEEPS RECOMMENDING ME IS FROM THE SERIES OF STUPID MARIO VIDEOS I WATCHED AS A SMALL CHILD WITH UNRESTRICTED INTERNET ACCESS??! WHICH HAVE PLOT NOW??!
Itās so screwed up that generative ai is made of stealing because the ability to create works that have zero authorial intent is something so unique thatās never really existed before and it gives all this power to the audience and just likeā¦ highlights the human ability to find meaning in the meaningless?
All human made art has meaning built in because itās self expression. You canāt remove the pieces of an artist that inevitably leak into their work. You can try to separate the art from the artist but there will always be a piece of the artist that cannot be escaped. Even art made by other animals has this sort of thing. Crows that are taught to paint are more enthusiastic when using certain colors that differ based on the individual bird. (I donāt know if thatās a provable thing but there is much anecdotal evidence. I have enthused about crows with employees of local bird sanctuary and they say that one of their crows was very picky and would throw a tantrum if they tried to get him to use a color he didnāt like.) But AI generated stuff doesnāt have that. Itās hollow. Orphaned from any emotion or intent or creator. Itās a completely blank slate for interpretation.
As someone who loves overthinking things and making connections that were not intended, thereās something unique and interesting about creation with no creator. No rhyme or reason, just mindless mimicry. Interpreting something knowing there is no answer and the program that made it is literally incapable of giving it any meaning, so itās all up to you. The viewer is the artist, in that way.
AI can never ever, ever replace human art. But in a weird way, without meaning to, I feel like itās the evolution of the sort of postmodern debate on what art even is where they stick a seemingly mundane, everyday thing in an art gallery. Or like those ink blot tests, even, in a way. It could become such an interesting parallel thing specifically because it will never have any meaning, but pattern-seeking human brain will find one anyway. And what does that reveal about the viewer?
AI generated stuff is intriguing to me specifically because can never replace what humans create. But I feel like everyone who doesnāt want it to stop existing value it for the opposite reasons I do. Itās so weird
do you work on any movies, shows, games, etc. Also do you make animations cuz I couldāve sworn I saw some made by you
hah! Thatās very flattering but I havenāt quite made it that far yet.
I am taking an intro to game design class right now and Iāve been tinkering with bloxels. Unfortunately Iām not sharing a link for now because as a school/edu account my real name is tied to it at the moment and Iām not comfortable sharing that.
Iām not exactly well-versed in making my drawings moveā¦ the closest I have is this

i remember adults telling me, as a kid, to listen to doctors and get my flu vaccine and any shots i could because they remembered Before.
then they started fighting Covid precautions.
i remember adults telling me, as a kid, that the ozone was disappearing and the earth was dying and we needed to recycle and save the planet.
now my parents think climate change is a myth.
i remember adults telling me, as a kid, that racism was a plague, that we had to love and accept everyone, that we should never judge before walking a mile in their shoes.
then they told me that protesting for my Black siblings was wrong.
i remember adults telling me, as a kid, that we needed to give to the poor. working at soup kitchens. making quilts. collecting food and money and supplies. building houses. because it was the christian and just plain right thing to do.
now they look at me, on food stamps with their grandchildren, and lament the "welfare state".
i remember adults telling me, as a kid, that it was easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than a rich man to enter the Kingdom of Heaven and that any rich man, especially an immoral one, should never run our country.
you can guess who they voted for.
i remember adults telling me, as a kid, so very much.
Oh, well, thatās your callā¦ bye in advance, then. Or not in advance.
As for the rest of your ask
I havenāt watched Storybots in forever either people just keep sending me asks about it, which is probably part of how awkward my responses have been. I like to think Iām more confident-sounding in my own, non-ask posts.
Kinitopetās really intriguing I like him. My interest in axolotls and aquatic creaturesjust being really cool have definitely extended that interest. Sort of between fixations though right now out of necessity because of real life stuff. When things cool down I have a backlog of games Iām excited to get into. Iāve had Psychonauts 2 since Christmas but I havenāt gotten around to playing it yet because I know the second I start it will become all-consuming. Also been eyeing the Pokemon infinite fusion fangame. And I could play more mushroom musume, that would be fun.
Thanks for checking in with me before you go. You didnāt need to do that but you still thought of me. Itās nice to know I exist in the minds of others, even if they think Iām awkward and weird.
not tryna sound mean but why do you type so.. awkwardly..? With all the āyeahā, āuhā, ākindaā, āI guessā stuff? Are you like socially awkward or what. I donāt know how else to explain this but hope you understand what Iām asking.
Well you just answered it in your own ask, actually. Yes, I am socially awkward.
Also, people keep sending me things that I have absolutely no idea how to respond to! Especially recently, for some reason. And that uncertainty makes the awkwardness more.
