I often watch youtube videos where people order commissions from artists and complain that the artist has changed a color palette a little or made characters clothes too short cant relate because for 10 years 10 years!!! 75% of the time when i draw i forget that the inquisitor doesnt have a left hand anymore and i dont even headcanon a prosthesis or a knight-enchanter-cheater-hand shame on me

Kind of a serious Question:

Hey, I've been wondering. When people ask you for commisions, do they ever ask you to DM them or do they DM you instead for the commision?, cuz I honestly have been meaning to begin doing commisions but idk how to. Plus i'm still young.

And I don't know what to do because people comment on my art (sometimes the instant I upload) and It kind of worries me that they're not all that serious or are playing with me (I wish to do my part and contribute in my family plus save up some cash for studying.)

Sorry in advance if it's too long and I might've said more than I was suppoused to have. I'd really appreaciate it if you could help me clear those doubts tho.

People DM me! I think when someone asks you to DM them - it`s bots usually. Also when they want to buy your art in nft-way or smth. If they want a drawing - the DMs are open. The exception is when someone asks 'are your comms open?', and you can answer 'yep please write to my dm'. Not really my place to tell you what to do, but as someone who started doing commissions at 14 cause my family was poor I would not recommend doing the same. Even if your art is good, teens tend to lose a sense of time because of all the studies, or overwork themselves for small summs, cause they are afraid to ask for more, do not know they pipeline of the work with a client etc etc. Getting a lot of stress for almost zero income, to sum it up If you decide to do comms though, be mindful and take a pause to think at every step. That i would say to my younger self 🤠
