Not the best time to open international preorders, huh? But it would be also kinda unfair not to. The situation with USA customs is shady now, but i hope it either will be resolved by the time the pins are ready (which will take about 3 months). Yeah, she is! Avel is pretty conservative about dalish traditions, keeping the elven bloodline, saving the culture through generations etc etc and has always wanted a child, while never really thought of having a partner or a spouse. He has only known one way to show love before the inquisition - which is a teacher-parent kind of love his adoptive mother (keeper) gave him. It has just happened so the inquisition and especially dorian, being his lover and a tevinter man, were a little in his way to his domestic dalish dream.

He was ready to sacrifice it all to follow Dorian, but after a few years still tried to introduce the idea of having an elven biological child to him, which was not accepted well. He had never tried again. Seeing his melancholic and jealous about other families face though made Dorian eventually go on with the idea. (Dorian wants him to be happy, and also feels a little bit guilty about Avel leaving his homeland, his political ambitions to be all alone in tevinter as a dalish)

Not the best episode in their family life. This is the only time Avel acts that egoistic in their relationships. But it turned out not so bad in the end. Their daughter is a carbon copy of Avel, but her temperament is a lot like Dorian`s.

Avel’ has a tendency to depersonalize and has not socialized much. He has always considered himself akin to a mechanism detail, functioning properly and being useful. Now that he has expirienced the friendship and romantic relationship and hearing josephine’s words he can finally start seeing himself in a new light. It is a first time he chooses to sacrify a but of his comfort to become closer with someone, and he likes the feeling of being complimented for his efforts and attractiveness by a person he loves. To him it is a step towards self understanding and growing a healthy sence of ego.
