sorry for the unannounced tumblr hiatus!! life has been pretty crazy lately - mostly in good ways but one very negative way is that my laptop got murdered by gravity (rip jessamine's laptop you were here for a good time not for a long time)

anyway all my previous laptops have always been touchscreens or laptop/tablet hybrids but since multiple of their deaths can be attributed to issues with that touch screen malfunctioning i'm thinking of just getting a non-touchscreen laptop for my next one (also bc that's probably cheaper and like i said i literally just bought this previous one)

the only issue is i occasionally would use the touch screen for drawing and i've been wanting to get back into digital art (especially since i'm doing character designs for a new project i have coming up in september). BUT that issue could be combated by purchasing one of those drawing tablets to connect to my laptop for a combined price less than what a touch screen laptop would cost

SO. does anyone have any recommendations for a good brand of drawing tablet? anything under $100 should be able to work with my budget

also i'm probably not gonna be super active until i get the new laptop bc i don't have all my browser extensions on the computer i'm borrowing but i'm very excited to unveil this new project soon!! hope you all enjoy!!

someone commented on a post of mine accusing me of having an insecure attachment style and they had a funny username so i clicked on their blog and their most recent post is a nigh incomprehensible lesbian fanfic about turning in to a smart car and falling in love with a woman who turned in to an suv. i don't think i learned anything from this and i hope you didn't either.

when you’re out at a restaurant or a coffee shop or a target or whatever with your friends and you overhear/eavesdrop the same snippet of some stranger’s conversation, and you look at each other for a second to check that you both heard this stranger say the same weird/funny/baffling thing and just break out in knowing grins and quiet laughter… that’s a love language

“I hate school I’m sorry Malala”- Funny yet poignant. Acknowledges both the difficulty of the task and the fact that doing that task is a privilege. Gives credit to the people who fought for that privilege with a tongue in cheek acknowledgement of the irony of the initial statement

“I’m just a girl I should be home baking bread not doing calculus” - at best historically uninformed at worst leaps decades back in time. Refusal to acknowledge the charged history of education and slights the centuries of women’s labor it took to reach this point

i actually get a bit annoyed with people who get a bit annoyed when people say “sorry” in response to their bad news. “why are you apologizing you didn’t do anything :/” like okay well a) you don’t know that and actually yes i am the secret architect of all your woes and have been this whole time, way to refuse to acknowledge a woman (gender neutral)’s accomplishments. and b) we’re both fluent english speakers so you know perfectly well that “sorry” isn’t always an apology and is very commonly used as an expression of general regret or sympathy. not in this case, because i have been your secret nemesis for years, meticulously plotting your every misery, but, like, in general

y'know the owl city guy was right. i would not believe my eyes if ten million fireflies, bc so far today i've had 3 fireflies get stuck in my room and had to carry them outside in a cup and even that was a bit much. anyway donate to save the fireflies bc i can't be personally popemobiling every bug out of every house
